The dark side radiates infrared, so it glows in non-visible wavelengths. By using an IR-sensitive camera and the right filter you can even make it details on the dark side. Sadly i don't quite have the gear to pull that off, but I'm able to pick up a hint of the glow when i overexpose my IR channel.

Do you know where the light is coming from that illuminates the dark side? Venus doesn’t have a moon (had to google that)... is this just from pure starlight and a bit of atmospheric diffraction from the light side?
