A part of me always wants to decorate my tech but I honestly believe I can’t bring myself to because of how I was raised. Our parents would murder us if we ever put stickers on tech, the walls etc. We weren’t even allowed to use Blu Tack to put posters up.
The only thing I have decorated is my plain black 3DS with a single Baymax decal. At first, I felt so guilty. Now, I don’t care, I like how it looks. For now, all my other tech is sticker free.
I really like seeing completely decked out laptops though. It’s like you’ve been given a mini cheat sheet to a person’s personality. You might see their favourite band, a movie reference, an LGBTQ signifier etc. I will rarely start a conversation with a stranger unless I’ve spotted a prompt like this, like “that’s such a cool sticker, I’m a big Blink 182 fan as well!” And then asking them where they got said sticker and who knows, it could just be a nice brief convo or you could make a friend.
