Okay, so who else feels like Oliver's lackluster character design was intentional? For such a vibrant world full of unique characters thus far, our MC blends too well into the background appearance-wise... but what if it's purposeful camouflage? He's important enough to receive surveillance from covert operatives employed by his "worried" relatives... so his status or magic ability must require significant secrecy, hence why he feels like he's disguised himself to avoid unnecessary attention. I might be reading into it too much, but maybe we'll see him display his true colors/"self" down the road.
Solid premiere, surprisingly heavy on setup, exposition, and character introduction... but the spellcasting was genuinely very cool & it makes me excited to see what wondrous (or horrifying) magic awaits us! Still crazy there's a 20% mortality rate... wonder who we'll see "consumed by the spell," especially those dragged back by their summoned creatures. Or who else might attain "Innocent White" like Nanao, the Scene Stealer Samurai & Best Girl thus far!
