DanMachi S4 Episode 19 Reaction

FIRE... BOLT! Rabbit Foot certainly lived up to the moniker, still very impressed that Bell managed to make it through the maze, find the other path that connects to the Colosseum, and save Ryu with such a dramatically kickass entrance! I knew it was only a matter of time until the "everyone must make a choice & accept sacrifice" plot point would come into play, but I couldn't truly prepare myself for the genuine anxiety/dread I felt when it actually went down...

I must say, the Colosseum itself might just be my favorite area of the dungeon thus far, cause the concept of "infinitely spawning monsters, locked in eternal combat with each other" is both crazy and wicked awesome. Still curious as to what the dungeon's intentions are with this place, though I'm sure we'll likely never answer that mystery raised... and it does surprise me that even first rate adventurers avoid the area, it'd be the training location for Aiz/Ottarl/Asterius!

What did you think of this episode?

I don't think it's gone, the dungeon self-repairs and returns to a "normal state" even amidst HEAVY damage (like what Jura & Evilus did to spawn the Juggernaut), so I am certain the Coliseum eventually returned, but I can see why you said that!

My question is, is the colleseum gone now? If so was it testing a 'hero' (since they were talking about it)

Bruh... this straight up gave me chills. I might need to start reading the LNs again, at least through this arc's conclusion, I owe it to Fujino Omori for creating such a spectacular series after all. I loved this whole passage, so thank you for this! Makes the whole Colosseum moments slap even harder ngl

I re-wrote this a few weeks ago (can't copy paste from the LN) : This was the place she would die. Now she realized it in earnest. She did feel regret. Her elf’s pride screamed out that she should not die like this in a den of monsters. She did not want to be disgraced by monsters, able to leave behind neither her pride nor her dead body. But she had secured life for one who was important to her. In the end, she had fulfilled her role as a senior adventurer. That was enough. Wasn’t it? Because of her shameful yet noble self-sacrifice, he had been saved. She had not lost what was most important to her. In response to her whispered words, her heart was silent. Her pesky elf’s pride seemed to have been satisfied by her internal arguments. She smiled fleetingly. Syr… everyone… The Benevolent Mistress rose in her mind. She apologized for disappearing without a word from these friends who had given her a place to feel at home when she had none. I’m sorry for giving up the life you saved. Lady Astrea… Her heart throbbed at the memory of her patron deity. She lowered her head for those eyes and that sorrowful voice she could no longer remember. I am sorry for soiling your name and the name of our familia even at the end. Alize… How she longed to be reunited. The death sentence she had longed for at the bottom of her heart, the time of atonement and redemption, had come. Please, I beg of you, pass judgement on me. Oblivious to the monsters bearing down on her, Ryu lay her cheek against the ground and smiled. Just as she had once done in a back alley where she expected to meet death. She slowly closed her eyes, preparing to welcome her final moment. But Ryu had made a miscalculation. She had forgotten. She had neglected to consider the nature of the life she had cut loose. She had forgotten that no matter how much he was tricked or injured, the white-haired by was so simple and good-natured he would insist on rescuing not only humans but even monsters. She had forgotten that those indomitable rubellite eyes were incapable of leaving anyone behind or parting with anyone. That their owner was a fool who insisted on smashing the scales of choice. It was just like the time when the girl with the blue-gray hair saved her after she wreaked her revenge. The person who had gripped her hand so tightly simply would not accept that her life was at its end. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!” The next instant, electrical fire erupted from the Colosseum. “_______”
