Kiri La Kill - Chapter 29
Added 2023-10-28 13:15:07 +0000 UTCThe last batch of chapters for this month for Kiri la Kill, slowly but surely steaming towards the ending… I hope you guys have some ideas on what will take this one’s place! Because we’re finishing up for good next month!
Other than that, today’s chapter might be a little rushed, because I kinda waited until we were like 2 hours before Throne Thief’s live before starting to write this! I apologize for any mistakes you might encounter.
Anyway, see ya on the other side! Enjoy this little realignment of my plans about how best to approach Kiri and Ryuko.
-------------------------------------------------
It was a rather strange set of circumstances that forced Kiri and Ryuko against each other, despite how much the two might have wished it so prior to this.
All thoughts about building her strength up to face the final boss had fled from Ryuko’s mind the moment she’d got it in her head that this asshole was ‘cheating’ on her best friend. The only thing on her mind was to make him pay for his crimes.
Sure, there were some faint little thoughts about getting some information into the enigma that was Kiryuin Satsuki, the imperious bitch that had so much as refused to look at Ryuko the day before--- but in the end, that was just an excuse.
As for Kiri… well.
Boy had he not been planning for this.
…Though to be honest, he was getting the stark feeling that he would only be deceiving himself if he said that he had planned for anything at all.
Sure, he had been somewhat enthusiastic at the beginning of all of this, thinking that he might be able to make Matoi stronger in the only way he knew (remembered) how, but the way he approached it… He thought he might have been a bit blinded by all of the intrigue he’d been witnessing in Satsuki’s inner circle.
The way he’d been intending to send others after him, one by one… he was not a schemer at all, so why had he even tried something like that?
He wasn’t so sure.
Was it because he was still so unsure about the person he had been? An unconscious desire to distance himself wholly from whatever vestiges he could still remember? Or was it just him being affected by the Student Council, to become something he was not.
Whatever it was, Kiri wasn’t sure he enjoyed it.
Who was he, to send others to get hurt in his stead, when he could do that job on his own? To endure hits that others couldn’t was quite literally what he was made for. No one should be ahead of him in harm’s way, and those behind him should not bleed.
Yes, that was what he should strive to be
He was quite sure he was falling short of that even, but now… he would work towards it--- and he would do it with the unwitting help of Matoi Ryuko.
…He had been right about one thing after all.
A rival was the greatest thing one could have, if they wanted to better themselves.
But then again, Kiri’s resolve did falter for a moment when he locked eyes with Matoi Ryuko for the very first time.
Because damn, did she look pissed off.
“Are you Kirishima Eijiro?” She growled, quite literally steaming with anger as she pinned him with a glare that would make anyone’s blood freeze. Luckily, Kiri was rather a hotblooded person himself… so he endured.
“Yes.” He responded, pushing his nervousness all the way back to where he wanted it to go. “And you must be Matoi Ryuko.” Even if he didn’t know what she was like, there was no mistaking that outfit of hers for anything else. “Hello.”
That last innocuous hello was in fact, a calculated move on his part… Spoken with a purely cordial tone of voice with a very expressionless face, it was perfectly designed in order to piss someone off.
And it worked like a charm, as another plume of spoke left Matoi Ryuko as she snarled at him.
“Don’t you say hello to me, you bastard!” She growled, brandishing her sword and pointing it straight at him, building quite the audience in the process, as she had chosen to confront him right in the middle of the school yard. “You know what you did!”
“I actually don’t.”
“Mankanshoku Mako.” She bit out, her eyes twitching at his continued calmness. “Does that name ring a bell?”
Uh oh.
“It sure does.” Kiri murmured, wondering just how much he was going to regret ignoring Mankanshoku up until this point, he’d thought that the hyperactive girl wasn’t someone to tattle about all the things that Kiri had done, but he hardly knew her. “What about her?”
That seemed to do it.
Unable to deal with Kiri’s deliberate prodding of her any longer, Ryuko decided to say fuck it, and did the one thing that made sense to her… Which was, of course, to give Kiri the correction he desperately needed.
“Hope that pussy you’ve been getting from Queen Bitch was worth it, asshole.” She spat. “Because I’m going to rip your thing out and feed it to you!” And with that said and one, Matoi Ryuko dashed forward, swinging her sword in an angle that would help her do just that.
Of course, Kiri was rather protective of his… Little Kiri’s, so he made sure to put out an extra layer of Hardening on them, even as he raised his legs to block her scissor blade… the blade bounced off of his hardness, and slid right up his body.
…And once again, destroying all of his clothes.
Though if Matoi had been hoping that Kiri would be‘stripped’ of the will to fight, she’d be rather wrong. In fact, it might just be the opposite, because Kirishima Eijiro was getting quite sick of people destroying his clothes, to be honest.
So doing something impulsive was rather overdue.
“That was my favorite jacket!” He growled, as he grabbed her by her head and spiked her head on the ground hard enough to send concrete flying about in every direction.
Once again, he’d been forced to ignore his own plans and adapt, t-this was surely a temporary thing, right?
He’d get a cordial conversation going once she’d calmed down, really.

Dammit Kiri.
KlK really does bring out the worst in you ;v
