Kiri la Kill - Chapter 28

Today is a big day! The new Chainsaw Man quest will be having its first live in just a few hours of me starting to write this… Let’s hope it goes well eh?

Originally, I was going to make this a double update day with the monthly omake, but I have decided to push the monthly omake to wednesday, since my lesson for that has been canceled… No sense cramming everything into one slot and burning myself out, right?

Anyway, here is chapter 28, 22 more chapters to go, enjoy!

——————————

He was in the same class as her, Kiri noted… making sure that he’d remember to thank Satsuki for that.

He’d already known about Mankanshoku, and already had some conversations with her… but the fact that she was prone to misunderstanding everything that he said really put a damper on whatever friendship he might have with her! The fact that she was the only person Matoi was hanging around had put quite the damper on his desire to approach her directly.

…Anyway, back on topic, which was what to do with Matoi Ryuko’s training.

He’d need to bully a few clubs into compliance… but he was pretty sure he could manage something appropriately challenging for her. While he also waited for Mankanshoku to finally leave her alone.

Though… it was rather weird, how she kept glaring death at the teacher. Did Mikisugi do something to piss her off too?

——————————

Ryuko was feeling pretty good about herself at the moment!

She’d torn through a fair chunk of the students in her little training session to test out Senketsu, slash rescue mission to save Mako from being punished (just by being her friend! Those assholes!) tearing up more than a few of their fancy uniforms as she did.

A-and as much as she wanted to rip that asshole Senketsu apart for displaying her whole body to the pervy peanut gallery, she’d been more than satisfied with the results!

…Until she’d nearly passed out from the blood loss, because the thing feasted on her blood like a swarm of mosquitoes! She would have fallen face down, ass up, if she hadn’t been able to escape, and picked up by someone who finally proved themselves to be an ally!

If only the creep weren’t so fucking cryptic about everything!

Life Fibers? One and two star uniforms?! Those were all well and good, but anything more she wanted to ask was stonewalled! ‘We don’t have time to talk about it’ this, ‘you’re not ready to hear it yet’ that! He just kept bullshitting her and hope that she’d swallow it!

Maybe she’d get her scissor blade out and threaten to castrate him, maybe that would get him to speak some---

“There is one more topic we need to discuss, Ryuko.” She was taken out of her fantasies of committing violence by his voice, the confident drawl that is, not the droning wheeze he had while spewing his bullshit in class. “That of the newest member of Kiryuin Satsuki’s inner circle.”

She blinked. “Elite… Five?” She pronounced, raising an eyebrow, because no one had been talking about that. “I haven’t seen anyone new running around with a three-star uniform.” She said, doubtfully.

“The fact that he doesn’t wear a uniform does not matter, the fact that he’s been seen at Kiryuin Satsuki’s side does.” Mikisugi brushed aside her disregard in an instant. “A constant presence in her inner circle, one that has grown even more so, enough that some whisper… they’re close.”

She frowned.

“You think I’m interested in her love life or somethin’?” She scoffed. “Whoop-de-fucking-doo, good for the guy.” She might have considered trying to push him around so that he’d spill the beans about her or whatever, but she didn’t want to get the guy involved if he was just her side piece, she didn’t want to be resort to their level---

“Kirishima Eijiro was the person who almost broke Honnouji Academy over his knee.”

And just like that, Matoi Ryuko was suddenly very interested.

“MAKO’S FIANCEE?!” …Maybe for the wrong reasons.

There was only one way that her History Teacher could respond to that.

“Fiancee?”

That… that…!

THAT TWO TIMING BASTARD!

Safe to say, Ryuko didn’t really stay around to hear rest of what Mikisugi have to say… and the train of misunderstandings continued chugging along to what was sure to be a spectacular crash.

Poor Kiri, and he’d been so excited about his plans too.

——————————

Well… the tennis club had done their job rather well, if a little too hastily.

Hakodate had been trying to cozy up to Kiri because they both had the same teeth or whatever, so he’d hoped to call in a favor by having her focus on Matoi, in exchange for him joining in on the club activities now and then.

However, what had been him trying to set up a recurring rivalry for Matoi Ryuko had been batted aside in a single moment, with Hakodate’s Goku Uniform being torn to pieces, along with all of her Tennis Club.

Kiri wondered if he should feel bad about ruining another set of uniforms when they were in such limited supply already, if only for a moment…. But he dismissed it rather quickly.

The Life Fibers were weird aliens who wanted to conquer humanity, so he didn’t care if they got absorbed or whatever. He was more busy being disappointed about being forced to go back to the drawing board.

And then, of course, the very next day, he was notified that a very pissed off looking Matoi Ryuko was searching for him, almost steaming with rage.

…Well.

He hadn’t really been planning on being that rival of hers.

But maybe it could work?

He really didn’t know what he’d done to piss her off though!

D-did Hakodate tell her?!

Oh Kiri… so valiant, so noble, so smart.

Very bad at scheming, as it turns out… even in a world that feels very basic compared to his own. One should note that MHA wasn’t really the land of schemes either, and that’s without realizing that this is Kiri we’re talking about.

Anyway, 3 hours left for CSM Quest, see you all then!
