86 (Eighty Six) S1 Episode 6 Reaction

I might have called the show's format for these events, but that doesn't make me feel better about what transpired. Shit, all I can really do is just hold out the faintest hope that we won't lose anyone else for awhile... but at the same time, that makes me fearful of the eventual loss as I grow closer with everyone in that time frame.
I do still feel like this attack might have been guided by a Black Sheep, if not a Shepherd, as their bombardment of possible hiding places, plus what that unit did to Lecca, indicates a human element of strategy & cruelty... that was horrific, especially when we know there's little hope in providing backup support to counter the Legion's artillery, or even just increasing Spearhead's firepower capabilities.
Only time will tell when Jerome & Annette might make their own moves in "Lena's best interests," as her friends/family, but it's certainly coming... I mean, Jerome even employed logical manipulation tactics to make her back down as she objected to the next mission, which is an obvious trap after all.

I didn't notice the flowers change, actually, so I'm really glad you pointed that out! I believe I might have mentioned they'd likely hold some significance as the series progresses, I believe back in the premiere, and turns out I was right on that note! I figured the box of pictures was those who were deceased from Spearhead, but yeah, it makes sense that she'd make Major at her age if the entire military's so lax, ignorant, and confident in what they do. Ah, thank you, I had been very interested in what those humanoid machines were called, cause that was straight up terrifying/disturbing, even more so with that knowledge of the "save me" design aspect!

For example, you got Lena with her board of 'pictures' of Spearhead, an idea she got after Annette was chatting about her team putting pictures of her past suitors to remember them by. If you also notice that the flowers in the vase have changed since episode 1 too; it now holds different colored flowers to symbolize the members that have passed. She also has a box for the dead members, just like Shin has a box for all the tags he's collected in the past. Ignorance is bliss for the Republic which is why they're so confident in the Legion shutting down in 2 years and why they're so lax in the military too, hence why Lena is a Major at her age despite being quite young. The Legion machine that killed Daiya is called Self-Propelled Mines. They are made to look humanoid so Processors hesitate so they can cling to the Feldreß and blow up. They are also the only Legion capable of producing audible human sounds like 'save me.'

2023-01-20 22:41:17 +0000 UTCStill feel like there was a definite human factor involved, it just felt a bit different, even when attempting to collect her head so they could copy her brain, but I do agree that's very likely what it was trying to accomplish... so damn messed up!

2023-01-17 21:31:35 +0000 UTCI think the Legion unit that forced Lecca to kill herself didn't shoot because it was ultimately hoping to get an intact brain. I think it would have merely crushed her body and kept the head. It's messed up.
