I'll admit, definitely wasn't expecting this development so soon... it was obvious there'd be issues between them, given the origins of Hibiki's powers as a Valkyrie, but I do suppose a brawl's a good way to vent your grievances, even if it's one-sided in terms of combat capabilities. Or maybe it'll turn into a "Hunt The Most Noise" competition to be more fair & square... What did you think of this episode?

I appreciate the extra info & clarifications, definitely interesting to see them repupurpose folklore/mythology as they see fit, I love it when series do that cause I've an avid fan of various mythos! I've heard of Gungnir before, but not sure if I knew exactly that it was Odin's spear, so that's pretty sweet... plus the designs in this show are on point for the weapons! I've definitely heard of Ame-No-Habakiri, Susanoo and Orochi as various series have referenced or represented them... like Fate & Naruto! My knowledge of JP folklore is shaky though. I looked into Revue Starlight and... well it definitely seems interesting, might make it a future poll option, this first round or two will likely be series I've been meaning to check out for so long. Not sure 100% what I said in this reaction in regards to that though XD but I want to try getting 2 non-seasonals ongoing here at any given time so y'all always have content!

Not always relevant but sometimes can give you some extra info/foreshadowing. Gungnir is the spear of Odin and Ame-No-Habakiri is the sword Susanoo used to slay the serpent Orochi. Interested to see what the poll choices are, inclined to throw the suggestion for Revue Starlight out for it.

2022-11-17 10:17:18 +0000 UTCI'll set the anime audio, in editing, to -11 for Symphogear since I didn't really change what level I record it and edit it from last time, so maybe the show's audio can dramatically change? I'll do better to catch this, sorry about that though! So that's what Aufwachen means, that makes sense! I do think I might have heard it before and what it means, sounds familiar after all, but thanks for the clarification! And yes, I can see that being Hibiki's charm point, that's for sure!

2022-11-17 09:58:23 +0000 UTCA few things. 1, the show volume was a little loud on this ep. Geah moves at a crazy pace. Don't be afraid give into the binge. As far as the singing/va they record a studio version of the song, like the OP, and versions of the battle songs that way as well. They also record a VA version, which matches up with the on screen action better. Its part of what makes gear so special and unique. Some non spoiler answers Aufwachen means "awakening" in german Canonically Hibiki's but is her charm point.
