Well, our plugin's architecture turns out to not be as good as we thought. Trying to integrate Qt into the plugin results in a plugin that only builds on MacOS and immediately crashes. We're working on a redesign of the underlying architecture to enable us to integrate Qt again without these problems.
Likely in the future the plugin will no longer be one DLL/SO file but multiple. This requires a bit of extra work since the entire plugin is currently designed around single DLL/SO output....

For almost a decade now we've been following a mix between Semantic Versioning and CMake Versioning. We'd love to claim that it's been successful and there's never been an issue, the reality is quite different. Our versioning code is quite flexible so this is mainly a matter of changing how we tag versions.
So we've come up with a few options and since this affects you, you get to vote on it!

Heyo everyone!
It's come to our attention that a few people are using or prefer quite old versions of OBS Studio due to various stability and plugin reasons. So here's the question: Do you want us to spend the extra time to ensure compatibility with older versions of OBS Studio?
Note that restricting ourselves to be compatible with older versions of OBS Studio does incur hefty performance penalties on those versions, and some features just straight up won't exist due to missing A...

UPDATE: We've returned to the office. Time for the sun to be just outside of the window, and the beach far away...
Heyo everyone! We're on vacation between 2nd and 7th September, returning to work on the 8th. Any support messages that have piled up will be worked on then.
To keep it short, here's the current status of every project:
Update: We have found a way to reinstate access to people who have migrated over too late. The process feels like it shouldn't work, but it does:
The affected user cancels their active subscription.
We refund their payment.
We block and then unblock the affected user.
The affected user resubscribes under the new tier structure.
This works if you need access now.

⚠️Attention: This version REQUIRES OBS Studio 31.1.0-rc1 or newer!⚠️
Heyo everyone,
sorry about the late release! We had intended to release this 2-3 days after DoKoMi but unfortunately both of us here fell ill. We've done our best to catch up on the missed work in the last week but still couldn't quite make the deadline. Anyway with all that said, here's the

You might have noticed that we've passed the intended release date by quite a bit now, and there's a simple explanation: Literally everyone fell sick at the same time. One has the flu, the other (me, Xaymar) has a serious cold. I am only in the office today to pick up the mail and pay bills so things can keep running.
Hopefully we'll be back in action before the end of June. Not a fan of the side effects of this cold as I don't quite like randomly almost fainting. At least the amount w...

To better focus our efforts on StreamFX we've decided to make TonPlugIns/VoiceFX fully open source and free for anyone. We appreciate everyone that has helped cover the lawyer fees by purchasing VoiceFX prior to this decision.
We hope that these will serve as a good baseline or reference for a better implementations of the whole thing. You will find the latest source code on Github permanently here:
Heyo everyone!
As I'm currently the only employee I just wanted to give a heads-up that from tomorrow, 17th April 2025, to tuesday next week, 22nd April 2025, I will be on vacation at Revision Demoparty 2025. Operation resumes as normal on 23rd April so until then there will be noone to answer questions, help you with issues, or deal with support.
If you're also there perhaps say hello and join in on the yearly tradition of someone yelling "AMIGA!".

Spout/Sink
Linux should no longer crash during Source Mirror to Spout/Sink migration. It is the only platform where C++'s std::string_view actually has undefined behavior for nullptr.
Releasing Producers now properly resets the visible/active state.

Due to the website taking quite a bit longer to write than expected, I copied and reformatted the website data to the old wiki. Included is everything the final webpage for it would have, including the mini tutorial on how to use Spout/Sink. I haven't yet figured out how to document the scripting and extension API the feature provides, but that'll be another thing for the future.

Spout/Sink
The minimum size of a Sink is now 1x1 in order to work around crashes in built-in and third-party filters.
It is no longer possible to freeze/crash OBS Studio by intentionally making a Spout/Sink recursive while also having the properties of the Sink open.
Duplicating Sinks now properly acquires the Spouts without requiring an update to their properties.

The functionality of corrupting the Active/Visible state by making a Spout/Sink recursive has been fixed, hopefully.
Sinks that are pointing at the Scene that contain the Sink itself no longer freeze OBS Studio by infinitely enumerate themselves in the libOBS Audio thread. If that confused you, it sure as hell confused me when I debugged this. (#40)

Q1 2025
Just a simple rebuild of the last version for the new tier system, and a few platform specific fixes that have no effect on the final binary, just made the CI system a lot less "oopsy woopsy it didn't work", speeding up building and testing.

With 2025 likely being the end of the current pricing model, we need to plan a bit into the future. And for that we need to know:
What features of StreamFX do you actually use "every day"?
This data will be used to determine what features would be in the "basic"/"standard" tier if the way forward is to split into multiple tiers of features.

With inflation already being record high and causing one price hike in 2024, I had hoped that it could be avoided for 2025 - but I didn't count on politics throwing a wrench into that plan. With health insurance rates jumping by roughly 25% (thanks Jens Spahn), the taxes nearly doubling, in...

The widely available app store providers now demand that Patreon pays their fees for in-app-purchases, you may be subject to an increased price by as much as 50%. This is in spite of these providers not hosting this content, or having anything to do with said content. With that said, the only way to avoid this is to go via a proper Desktop, until the major "store" providers there also demand fees for being displayed on a screen.
For Desktop users, nothing changes.

I've heard your feedback about the switch from Source Mirror to Spout/Sink, and for the most part I have to agree with the received feedback. The upgrade path, thanks to limitations within libOBS and OBS Studio, is not as simple as it could be. Particularly for creators with large scene collections, replacing Source Mirror ends up being tedious - even StreamFX's feature validation scene collection uses over 300 Source Mirrors!
So to make it easier on everyone involved, the plan...

We've reached full feature parity with Source Mirror after only 5 days! The Sink (Audio + Texture/Effect) source now has a new option called Forced Update which, when enabled, forces the referenced Spout (Texture) filter to update and render. Just like Source Mirror, it is now no longer necessary to edit every Scene/Group and add the source(s) containing the Spout filters.
And if that wasn't good enough, the bug that caused Spout (A...
