TBE Chapter 92

TBE Chapter 92

The hamburger meal was a success. It even brought tears to Simon’s eyes to the amusement of everyone. Luke even asked why Simon was crying, and the man straightforwardly told the boy that it was because the food was the most delicious food that he had eaten.

“I understand! I cried the first time I tasted French fries. They’re the most delicious food!” Luke said and Ezekiel wondered what was it about French fries and young boys. He also remembered that when he was little, it was also his favorite food.

After their meal, Ezekiel cleaned everything using his Prestidigitation spell.

“Why did you clean the dishes using your magic?” Robert asked, and Ezekiel knew that his brother asked because he was expecting that he and Luke would wash the dishes that night.

“I changed my mind about the chores. I’ll just find something else to develop everyone’s character,” Ezekiel carelessly said, but he could see that the three boys were delighted.

Doing the supposed chores was just eating at their time, and he felt that it was a waste. That night, by request, Ezekiel continued reading them the One Piece manga, and soon everyone fell asleep.

The next day, they left their campground early. Ezekiel wanted to get away from the village as soon as possible. He wanted to leave the vicinity of the town where Simon came from since he didn’t want any form of issue arising from Simon’s identity, although the man assured him that he wasn’t important enough to be chased and when he ran, he didn’t do anything that would make the lord who owned him to waste resources to chase him.

Regardless, Ezekiel didn’t want any problem concerning Simon’s status as a serf since if a confrontation happened, he might have to use his magic to subdue the lord. The possible result of that was the news that a “wizard” was loose.

On the other hand, if the lord uses a lot of manpower to chase them, it might result in a lot of experience points, but again, Ezekiel didn’t want to become a butcher just for the experience points. He didn’t want to become a psychopath, and Simon reiterated that the lord wouldn’t bother with chasing him.

Looking at the surroundings, Ezekiel thought that soon, they would be in the height of summer, and the sun would be punishingly hot. He wasn’t worried about them developing any melanoma or other forms of skin cancer, though, because he thought that his Healing Elixir spell was sufficient to keep them healthy. He hoped.

Since the cart was moving slowly enough, Ezekiel thought of just buying a large beach umbrella since it would be huge enough to cover the whole cart, including the driver’s seat. Aside from that, the only solution was to replace their cart with something that had a roof, but Prince Charming probably wouldn’t be enough to pull something like that.

Ezekiel would have looked for a second donkey in the last village but forgot about it because of his haste in wanting to leave the area, so he told Simon to remind him that they needed to buy a second donkey to help Prince Charming when they reached somewhere that sold them.

“Is it going to be a problem for you to control two donkeys?” Ezekiel asked their guardian, and Simon replied that it wouldn’t.

During lunchtime, they stopped beneath a tree for Prince Charming to rest. Simon fed their donkey and brushed it then they ate their lunch. While they were resting, Ezekiel browsed his system to store to choose a summer umbrella that would allow them to have shade while the cart was moving.

Ezekiel spent 3 silver coins to purchase a huge beach umbrella with a sturdy stand. He chose the color brown to match the aesthetic of this world, even though he was tempted to purchase a colorful one for the kids to enjoy. He did choose one with a rechargeable light and a rechargeable fan under the umbrella attached to a solar panel that was located on top in full view of the sun.

He retrieved the umbrella from his 4th tab space and placed the sturdy base beside the table that was inside the cart. Then, he unfolded the umbrella and placed it on its stand. Robert and Luke were amazed at the umbrella and kept on dancing beneath it. When they saw the fan inside, they pointed at it and asked Ezekiel what it was.

“It’s a magic fan that gets its power from the sun. Once the sun is down, it would only last for a couple of hours before it turned off since it wouldn’t have enough power to run, but since we’re only using it during the afternoons, it will have enough power from the sun.”

Ezekiel was a little impressed at the rechargeable fan because it was big enough that the wind it produced was strong enough to be felt by all of them. Simon was also amazed and couldn’t concentrate on the road but kept on looking at the fan. Since the cart was slow enough, it wasn’t a problem if their guardian wasn’t focused on the road.

To be honest, the fan wasn’t necessary since there was a strong breeze coming in from the forest, so after a while, when he thought that the fan’s function was redundant, he just turned it off.

“Why did you turn it off?” Robert asked.

“There is wind from the forest,” Ezekiel told the boys.

“I want to watch it!” Luke complained, so Ezekiel just turned the fan on.

After a while, though, Robert and Luke fell asleep looking at the fan. He was amused that Simon kept looking back to watch the fan as well. He would have warned their pretend guardian to stop looking back to watch the fan since he might strain his neck, but he decided to just let the man be.

If a simple fan entertained them, what would their reaction be when he showed them a television? The problem was, Ezekeil wouldn’t be able to show his brothers, not until he taught them English, and he wondered if he should start doing so since, based on what he knew, the younger they were, the easier for them to learn it.

The good thing about teaching his brothers and Simon English was, Ezekiel didn’t have to create a lesson plan since he could purchase books from the system store, from the basic learning guide to the advanced ones. Since he was using roughly less than an hour to an hour every night to teach the three the language of this world, he decided that he would begin teaching them English.

To be honest, there wasn’t really a need for him to teach them his language, and the only reason he wanted them to learn was for him to be able to share the media content of his original world. Ezekiel justified that with English, they would have a secret language that they would be able to communicate and that dispense the last barrier that was holding him in teaching them English.

Ezekiel immediately purchased the beginner's book in learning English and would begin teaching them later. He expected that the three boys would complain, but he would just pacify them with food. He also thought of telling them that the magic that he was using was based on the second language that he would be teaching them and that if they learned it, they might be able to cast spells. He wondered if it was okay to do that and thought there was a chance that it might backfire, so he would need to ponder some more regarding that idea.

The boys woke up after a couple of hours and started playing again. In the meantime, Ezekiel reviewed the beginner’s book for learning English that he bought from the 2nd tab, and based on what he had seen, he didn’t need to plan anything and just follow the book, which relieved him greatly since there was no added work to be done.

Ezekiel closed the umbrella when the sun started to set, and soon, he asked Simon to look for a suitable place where they could rest for the night, but the man simply drove their cart inside the forest, trying to find a large enough clearing that would fit their houses.

When everything was settled, Ezekiel cast all the defensive spells that he usually cast every night while the boys ran off inside the house. Simon led the cart and Prince Charming inside the stable house after Ezekiel gave the fodder that would feed their donkey to Simon.

Ezekiel then went to the forest, intending to practice casting the new spells that he had learned so he wouldn’t be surprised by the effects when the need to cast them occurred. He would practice the 4th level spells since, aside from the spell Fabricate, he had not practiced the other two, which were Stone Skin and Hallucinatory Terrain.

He spent an hour practicing the two spells since he wanted to learn and feel the details of the spells. Stone Skin was straightforward. Once he cast it, his flesh turned into stone, greatly giving him defense against bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. The time he spent on Hallucinatory Terrain was greater since the spell’s range was enormous. Once he studied the result of the spell, he would dispel it since the spell was too dangerous to be left alone. He would then cast it again to continue studying it.
