Christian here, with an announcement regarding Pundle.
Added 2024-01-25 01:08:44 +0000 UTCAfter two years and over 700 puzzles, we will be retiring the current version of Pundle. After March 1, Pundle will no longer receive new material. An archive of Pundle puzzles will be available shortly thereafter.
We are so thankful to the thousands upon thousands of people who played the game every day, shared their results on social media, sent us personal messages when the puns were exceptionally good (or bad), made Pundle far and away the most popular game on Pacdude Games, and overall helped us feel like we contributed something fun and silly to the world.
This whole thing started as what I thought would be a throwaway idea I had one day while watching game shows and crafting. My creative partner Cory told me it would require me to write a year’s worth of puns. I’m proud to have written twice that amount. As ridiculous as some of these puzzles have been, I consider writing Pundle to be one of the greatest achievements of my creative life. I am also massively grateful to Cory for creating a gorgeous web app to facilitate this idea.
Although this version of Pundle is heading into the sunset, you have not seen the last of Pundle itself. We’re looking forward to adapting our game to other forms of media—possibly even a new iteration of the online game. We have nothing to share on that front yet, but when we do you will be the first to know.
