Progress Update: Secret Sonic Game

Hello dear Backers and Supporters! And Merry Christmas to you all!

This month has been a busy month and a month all dedicated to a certain project. The Sonic Game Remake of a certain iconic smut game.

Because it is Christmas, I decided to let you see a few images of the game. Please note that they are from early December, so things like the choice menu and textbox have changed by now for example.

Either way, I came together with my small team this month and we had many discussions about the direction we wanted to go in. There will be coming a lot of chances as we try to make the game easier to play. As some of you might know, the original was rather random with stat requirements to trigger certain scenes. We plan to have multiple stats play a role, so that all stats will be useful and able to help you get the juicy content you so richly want. And deserve too, considering your support here on Patreon.

But, we have to trim down the fat a bit when it comes to stats, so there are stats that will be abolished. Here a short list of the state changes and which stats stay:

RWC: Relationship with Cream stays. It is an important stat for progression after all.

Energy: Stays. This stat however will be adjusted. From 100 to 20 max. Current plan is that you start with 10 and get 5 extra two times in the day, as well as 10 in the following mornings. Accordingly, many things like calling your favorite bunny and some sub choices won't require energy anymore or less energy.

Rings: Stays. You gotta need coin after all. There will be more jobs too. Maybe some lawnmower job for Sonic, while Cream watches or later in the game cam shows for Cream. It is noted down, but not a priority right now.

Hunger: Abolished. Instead there will be a Time Progression button that leads to food events and with that also lead to afternoon and evening.

J*rking Off: Abolished. It is the most useless stat of them all and Exposure would fit better as a replacement for it.

Peep: Abolished. While a bit painful for myself to remove, my team convinced me to let it go. Instead Exposure will be there to replace it as well. Exposure will be the stat that determines how "Exposed" Cream is to all kinds of lewdness. No matter if it is seeing dick or getting perved on.

Exposure: Stays. Exposure to all things lewd will taint her innocence, making her more aware of adult things.

Touch: Stays. Making her more comfortable with being touched. No doubt an important stat to get more touchy-feely with her.

Lust: A rabbit needs a libido after all. And this stat could definitely, for example, help with all sorts of events. I am thinking about making it so, that events that require other stats can also be fueled with this one. Like some simple addition. Instead of 10 Touch you can have 5 Touch and 5 Lust to meet event requirements.

Moral Alignment: Stays. And not only does it stay, it will play a bigger role as well. While it was underused in the original, it is planned to have this particular stat actively determine Cream's demeanor. Be a dick to Cream and she will be rather "Sour" to you. Be nice to Cream and she will be "Sweet" to you.

In other words, you can either get Sweet Cream or Sour Cream! Not my idea, but my teams and I am loving it to bits. Also I do love me some Sour Cream~ But I digress. Sour Cream will be bitchy towards Sonic as you can imagine, so you can actively choose how to raise your little rabbit.

You can unlock an outfit each for either route. My artist already has some idea for them, but the design isn't decided upon yet. No more outfits are in planning right now besides that. Well, maybe aside from a swimsuit adjustment I imagine. But for now, we want to keep things simply and not go too overboard with this.

Aside from the stats, other changes are planned too. There will be a Tutorial. Vanilla will explain various things, while Sonic will suggest various things in thought, seeing how we can hardly have Vanilla encourage such behavior openly. At the end of the Tutorial, there will be a bar scene with Tails. He will explain the smartphone (as Sonic is a fossil xD) and give his number to him. The plan is that numbers have to be gathered/earned, but nothing concrete is there yet. Tails will still be hostile/suspicious towards the player and be an obstacle. After Cream is going to bed in the normal game cycle, the player can also hit the bar too for interactions. But for now that all is not the focus of our work.

The focus currently is the Living Room area. The choice menu is overhauled and scenes are written. This means the old scenes are discarded as we write things up from the ground up. Homework will for example be a section, just as Drawing. A few of these sections switch up between day times, giving it some variety. The choice menu will have 3 options and 1 option to leave. It is smaller than the original, but like mentioned, as the choices switch between midday, afternoon and evening, some other options can be chosen, so it won't be shorter than the original game, no worry. Undressing options will be presented as buttons over Cream's head.

Additionally, choices will have different colored buttons for certain choices. Those choices signify the Sweet Cream and Sour Cream relevant routes. For sub choices, you will also be able to see what stats you gain or lose, after it has been explored before. This feature is still being worked on, as I first am writing up the Homework scene currently, so I have actual text to test it out on.

The Living Room will be a micro cosmos and starting point to build in all of these functions. This is where it starts right now. The Tutorial and bar part will come later for example. Our team will test it out and ensure things are working and looking properly.

A public build is still a ways away at this point. A long way away as I only plan to publish one after there is enough content so that I can proudly present it to the masses. A patreon build will come sooner, but still take some time as well, as the game is not presentable enough as of right now. Too many scenes need to be written.

Which also explains why the Spyro Side Project has been going so slow. At this point the Sonic Game will be my main focus. Followed by commissioning music and art and implementing them for Gomamon Trainer. And that followed by writing here and there on the Spyro Side Project. I will have some new sketches for Gomamon Trainer up soonish too, as well as a new track later.

I also would like to give everyone a reminder that prices will increase soon. That will be done in the next few days.
