Sai's been glitching out on me
Added 2018-05-04 09:17:31 +0000 UTCSai, my canvas of choice (and the only one I am well versed in), has been kicking up some crap with my Bitdefender recently.
Long story short there's a common false-positive "virus" called Trojan something something gen 13 that Bitdefender throws up when a file attempts to save itself as more than one type simultaneously (or in a way Bitdefender is cautious about). So BD will do what it does and delete the "infected" file.
I did some serious research into this alleged Trojan, it is not a real virus. A normal BD scan, a Malwarebytes scan, and a Virustotal scan on the sai file itself seem to agree that this is a phantom in Bitdefender's head for files with multiple extensions (or that try to create themselves in such a manner).
This can happen with some Steam games but is most common with Photoshop .tmp files. Which Sai can create.
Soooooo as I have been working on Derpy I've had it randomly try to save itself a .tmp file (when I save the .Sai file) somewhere Bitdefender doesn't like, and BD keeps deleting my damn picture file. :D
I do not think Sai is saving this back-up correctly for whatever reason lately as I have never encountered an issue with this until now. I've used Sai since 2011.
FORTUNATELY I have not lost any work yet because as long as Sai stays open, the currently opened canvas data stays active and I can save it into a new file before closing it.
I've been working to trouble-shoot this and I may have come up with a solution, but it's not proven yet.
Second sad state is that when this happens it turns off my pressure sensitivity. For whatever reason sometimes re-starting Sai is not enough to start it back up, and I need to reset my whole PC. This gets ridiculously irritating.
Sorry for the delay this is causing as I had planned to have her done yesterday. On TOP of this, the power cut out twice too, AND I had two doctor appointments to make. It was a day.
GOTTA LOVE TECHNOLOOOOOGYYYYYYYYYY
