Let’s be real - porn has trained a lot of men to chase intensity instead of connection. Fast. Tight. Intense. And then suddenly, when it’s time for real sex… Your body doesn’t respond the same way.

2025-11-26 15:06:06 +0000 UTCPorn has been a part of my life all my life so you name the issue, I have it. My best friend had it as a kid and I loved it. I didn't know about all the bad effects till much later in life. I've cut back a lot but porn is still a window into parts of my sexuality that will never see the light of day. Still, I wish I never knew about porn.

2025-11-25 16:03:13 +0000 UTCThis is a fascinating question. I thought i had issues with porn. I watch vanilla stuff and it MUST have a plot. I thought it was finally catching up to me. I'm even in therapy for DE and anorgasmia. What has come out is not what I expected. I probably suffer from CPTSD related to childhood trauma. We're working through that. Its going to take awhile. Fortunately, my bride of 48 years is on board since she knows what happened. In the meantime, she's given the Green light to toys and alternative types of sex. We had the most amazing time Saturday where I never came but she was damn near screaming with delight! Happy wife, happy life!

2025-11-24 22:17:21 +0000 UTCI've never been too into porn but I have watched the occasional video to see things that aren't in my personal experience pool (like women squirting). Honestly, the thing that affects me more than porn is just uninspired sex. My first wife was so guarded sex was extremely boring. She wouldn't do doggy style or really anything beyond missionary and cowgirl. I found myself faking ejaculation on a fairly consistent basis because I was just too bored - I just wanted to be done and go to sleep. It shouldn't come as any surprise we are divorced.

2025-11-24 20:16:57 +0000 UTCI did and do very little porn viewing, and it's pretty mild, almost vanilla type stuff. Since a bartender friend had introduced me to topless bars & strip clubs when I was still a virgin (a VERY late bloomer). It was just as the trend of "lap dances" were being added. That's where I met my first dating and sex partners, so the porn did nothing to affect my real life experience (and the stupid grin on my face afterwards).

2025-11-24 19:33:58 +0000 UTCSounds very familiar. I have been struggling with delayed ejaculation and death-grip syndrome for years. Not sure if it was caused more by porn or masturbation. The Masturbation hacks course helped me a lot although I still haven't implemened all the techniques. Porn can be a good entertainment as long as you don't overuse it or confuse it with reality.

2025-11-24 17:50:33 +0000 UTCThis is a real question, to verify what is really going on . I hope that there is an end to this game at some point , because it really does affect the way that men perceive sex and it does have an effect on a man's body chemistry. I noticed at some point that it took me more to be turned on by a real woman or that I felt a little less than satisfied with the way things went , because I wasn't dating a porn star in my mind . Watching porn was never a habit, just something I watched out of boredom. I gave up watching porn years ago , because I discovered the science behind body chemistry and started building and fostering a healthier way of being aroused when doing solo play. I believe that Then when I encountered a real life situation a beautiful naked woman in front of me I was more aroused and ready to understand that I was not only there for the sex, but for an intimate connection and with this came discoveries that were profound. It was a game changer when I figured out that not focusing on what she could do for me and or chasing hard core sex or the ultimate in blow jobs or things that they do in the porn movies , money shot etc... would lead to the most satisfying sexual experiences. In retrospect I also think that woman feel safer with their man when they understand that they don't have to try to be a porn star in the bedroom. In the end I think that there should be huge warning lables on any pornaraphic materials, like what they do with cigarettes. As much as some people try to normalize porn it is as bad for your health as cigarettes or worse. As always, thank you so much for these beautiful questions Caitlin 😍

2025-11-24 16:27:23 +0000 UTCYes. It takes an overdose of testosterone therapy with Cialis/Viagra to get and maintain an erection with both porn and irl sex. During irl, the erection often does not maintain itself. Per your previous discussions on masturbation techniques, I have masturbated incorrectly since day one and have lost sensitivity that I have not been able to correct using your techniques. It is very difficult to achieve orgasm with porn or irl.

2025-11-24 15:30:50 +0000 UTCIn all kinds of cinema, we know that what we see on screen is not reality. In the real world, we know that you can't deflect blaster bolts with a light saber, that you can't just shrug off a gunshot wound and keep fighting, and that the answer to life's problems doesn't suddenly come to us in a flash in the third reel. Yet, somehow, many people do seem to buy what porn is selling: that PIV is and always will be the main event, that an "average" cock is 8", and that pounding away with one for hours at a time is par for the course. (Oh, and that all it takes to make her hot is to whip one out.) But, still, porn is a kind of culture, with its own language, norms, and evolution over time. If you can recognize the parts that are there just because they look better on camera, you can sometimes find ideas you can use. Kind of like a chef who eats at a so-so restaurant, but who still finds ideas there for their next signature dish. As with all things, awareness during the consumption and use of porn makes for better outcomes.
