For anyone who missed my AU facts from the bonus chapter, I explained how mer eating other mer is normal for most in this AU. Shoto and Kiri’s pod started mingling with prey-based mer and some interbred with them, so they’re more against it due to being raised around non carnivorous types
Shark mer are actually the ones that have pushed the narrative to be scared of of cecaelia mer in this AU, as cecaelia’s are one of their only predators
