PATTERN AND INSTRUCTIONS: The Cobbler Dress and Set

Happy release day, Charm Scouts! I’m so thrilled to present the Cobbler Dress and Set. This design is based on vintage cobbler aprons, tunic-style garments with big pockets that were cinched at the waist with a tie. It’s perfect for busy days around the house or at work, but perfectly comfortable to lounge in, too. And those pockets? Just perfect for all your notions and sewing snacks (what else are pockets for?). I’m also thrilled that this month was a feline-tastic photo shoot, with both Henry and Baby Eli participating! (For those of you out of the loop, Eli is a street kitten I adopted after fostering him and his family for a while--he and Henry fell in love and I couldn’t separate them.)

This pattern is basically a capsule wardrobe, with tons of options for your perfect fit. The dress is 40’s pinafore perfection, with ruffles that are to die for. Or, make a top with coordinating capris –– you’ll love our subtle elastic waistband for those days you can’t bother with real pants. Your styling choices will really make a difference in the finished feel, here: go for a houndstooth for a dark academia feel, or live out your best 50’s domestic goddess life in a sweet floral print (get our coordinating free Oven Mitt pattern on the Charm blog to complete the look!).
