💀 Way More Potions, So Much Drawing 💀

Peculiar Potions

First things first, the potions table has received a massive upgrade. Because I have little self control, I decided to expand the potions table in the physical book to a d100 table. Potion effects are fun. Seems silly to limit it to a measly 2d6 (36) .

So I took some time and wrote... a lot more.

We now have D100 Peculiar Potions

I need to draft two more pages, which means expanding another table. So if there's a Glumdark table you wish was longer, now's a perfect time to let us know. We're all ears.

New NPC Profiles

The NPC Generator now uses the full suite of character portraits from Vil. Check all of them out here. Vil and I also collaborated a bit on a cool roster image which we'll use some version of for the Kickstarter campaign and in the book itself. That's the header of this post.

So Much Drawing

I've been working non-stop on the cover for the book, which is one of the few things in the book that I drew rather than Vil, Lettuce, or some old dead people. It's finally done, and ready for prime time. I've also been working on Glumming up a bunch of interior filigree and designs. Taking old book borders and roughing them up to better fit the book's aesthetic and lore, like so:

It's time well spent, and really enhances the flavor of the soup.

Kickstarter Bullshit

Basically, the next phase of things is to get started with Backerkit and read about how to run Kickstarter campaigns and get ourselves ready for every artist and writer and musician's least favorite part of making work: self-promotion.

So I started by gathering a bunch of items for a product shoot for the dummy (photoshopped) book. A black sand hourglass, some incense burners, a skull, black candles, etc. I am missing a murder-y dagger. Sadly. This isn't from the shoot, which hasn't happened, but it's from my test shoot of the shoot, to see how things might come together:

I've figured out the main financial goal for the first run, and the prices for stretch goals. Still determining reward tiers. That will come down to whether I think folks want another physical object, like a Glumdark t-shirt.
