this also applies to pronouncing Koichi’s name (and the rest of the names) but Josuke just tends to say it really fast so Ko-i blends to sound like Coy sometimes, and the u ‘su’ sometimes gets cut a bit so something like Josuke sounds more like Josske depending on who’s saying it (this rule can also apply to the i in things like “Ichi” where it just sounds more like Ich) but if you’re not an actual speaker of the language then pronouncing thing like this will probably just make you sound cringe lol. sorry for the essay i just figured id try to help out in general 😅

2025-04-13 20:42:32 +0000 UTCthe fun thing about Japanese is that most of it is pronounced exactly as its romanized spelling, and most of the time it’s through syllables. so if you just pronounce each syllable of Budogaoka (bu do ga o ka) and then say it fast you get the pronunciation. The writing system is the real annoying part of the language, since a lot of these syllables combine into different words that you can either write in hiragana, or kanji which takes up less room but some words also have like 5 different writings in kanji that also mean different things (like the episode where that crazy chick gave Koichi three choices (Crazy music, Groovy music, Smooth music) all with different kanji but they were all pronounced the damn same.

I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
