And of course he may not see the class difference but obviously Blitz does and everybody else does too

Blitzo is very aware of where he sees he is at in that structure...imps are on one of the very bottom rungs in their world. That was made very clear to him when his father sold him for the day to be Stolas' friend when he was a child. By his father having him steal from Stolas it was brought further home to him that they would never get anywhere in life by being honest. Blitzo has been emotionally battered his whole life so he is wounded and very protective of himself. What Blitzo doesn't know is that Stolas has also been emotionally battered also. All he can see is that Stolas is in the top 10% of society who can buy whatever they want or "need". That is why the transaction between the two is so fraught with misunderstanding on both sides. Blitzo sees how Stolas treats his underlings and Stolas is blind to exactly how he himself treats his underlings. It's totally understandable from outside of this relationship in how the two of them are going to react. Somebody pointed out on YouTube that Stolas; being an owl, most likely fell in love with Blitzo the moment he saw him at the circus, and owls do mate for life. But with how Stolas was brought up Stolas doesn't realize that he has made an exception for Blitzo and he placed him outside of the ridged class structure he grew up in while still holding up that structure in his everyday life. It might have been possible for Stolas to break himself of that habit if he was not forced into marriage with Stella. But with the eyes of the 10% on him it has been made more difficult for him to change. Either way both Stolas and Blitzo have issues the need to work on.

2024-08-13 18:05:50 +0000 UTCAlso a thing about Stolas that a lot of the fandom forgets, is that Stolas's only idea of how love works is based around Telenovellas and soap operas for love. His wife surely has never shown him love, and his father never did either, so love is seen as dramatic gestures too. (something to keep in mind going forward too.)

Bryce Pinkham is such an amazing performer, and the animators did such an amazing job with the scenes and the sheer emotions on Stolas's face and body language. I really love this one. I'm interested to see what you think of the first song in Full Moon.
