Hazbin Hotel Episode 8 Reaction (Original Music)

Comments

Your magician rant made me cry laughing

WhatWouldDylanDo

When Able started singing in "Hear my Hope" me and my partner literally screamed with excitement cause we were waiting all season for Patrick to really shine. God I hope he gets his own song or at least a bigger part of a song next season

LenaPlays 01

If people are still throwing hats in the ring to help dub songs for you I'd like to toss my name in there LOL

LadyNightingGaleofMilvania

I think that you would love the Master of Diabolism/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Modao Zushi (same show, three names lol). It's the same author as Heaven Official's Blessing but a different vibe. Honestly it's super hype plus, despite the censorship, it is canonically gay!

Izzy Pascale

Okay I know this is late, And I have a ton of theories and comments to make about the show. BUT on a rewatch, you can see Lute had demon horns in season one after Vaggie got the roof to collapse on her. I believe that is HUGE foreshadowing and I'm speechless on how no one has pointed this out

Real human

Your hair looks fire

Merlin Schilling

Danny's "nifty is the most powerful" theory is looking more likely now that we most likely know shes a overlord. Only overloards+ nifty could do the beam

ImMegamindsSlutWife

Velvet is a doll. Specifically a dress up doll or mannequin. I think its pretty genius because of all her outfit and hair changes.

ImMegamindsSlutWife

Some people theorize theyre voodoo dolls, the soul remnants from demons hes tortured and killed on his radio show, or quasi beings made of magic from him. They're not "help" like what vox goes around asking for. Theyre powered by himself and his power

ImMegamindsSlutWife

Alastors little minions arent actual sinners or demons. theyre like disposable summons he creates on the spot i believe. They most likely dont have real souls and are created from alastors power.

ImMegamindsSlutWife

Val is blind af danny thats why

Dr. Ava Maddox is our cat

DANNY SINCE U LOVE CARMILLA’S VOICE. PLS PLS REACT TO IN THE HEIGHTSSS

Destiny Lopez

To be fair a lot of complaints with smaller/side characters I think really is just because each season is so short. Even if each season was 12 episodes instead I'm sure we would've gotten more Baxter/Lute content.

AbyssinalPhantom

Nifty is clearly as powerful as an overlord. She defeats Velvette, and she has her own beam for "Hear My Hope." I wonder if killing Adam powered her up.

Megan McCue

I never knew i needed to see Danny sing Fall Out boy!!!!!!!!!

nya kingsbury

Danny, your hair is unreasonably good looking this episode

Obsidian Graemoor

Danny… ACTIVATE YOUR WINDOWS SOFTWARE

Luigi Aguilar

Honestly i felt hear my hope was way better than the finale song for the first season

Cp

It’s ovi a poly relationship lol

Goose14

Danny, did we forget that angel is legit owned by Val it’s ok, Just reminding you you are good lol, but that’s why he has to go back and has no choice. That’s why he choked Cherri

Goose14

Day idek of my name being spelled wrong in the outro. Kacya Jones turned into Kaycie jones😔

◇Ozzballs◇

Please react to Vox Machina along with Mighty Nein🙏

Whale_the_Shark

small thing. Al didn't gain a favor from Rosie. The deal was she fixed his staff in exchange for the help with the weapon. it's why the handle was a different color. went from black to white.

Keychi

This! so many people discount the amount pride rules Charlie but it literally explains so much of her character and was shown off so well in this season

Sabrina Attwood

She did change it though. It was "Vaggie" and pronounced differently by Adam. She took off the E and reclaimed it.

Imani Brooks

Agree completely with the Vaggi arc. The Vivzie bit is fucking hilarious

Jadesies 77

Why does Danny want to kill my duck boy so bad.😅

Soultheworlddevourer

You should check out The Mighty Nein

Lindsey DeGeeter - Baker

I love the ending for one reason: this has always been a musical about the princess of hell redeeming sinners through forgiveness and happy songs. It Starts With Sorry might actually have more call backs in the show than anything else, so this vibe is 100% what I knew I was getting into

ImbiamaBones

If you get Alex Brightman, can I court Sarah?

Hali🫧

Honestly I think the ending works! These are essentially my thoughts on it; I think the whole orb thing was set up well enough. We knew that archangels could form a protective barrier around heaven using their angelic powers, and now we know that overlords have something similar in the form of overlord powers. They are able to essentially make the same protective barrier using their combined strength, surround the canon, and as it explodes inside the barrier, it uses all of its built up energy to shatter the barrier instead of destroying hell. We also essentially get shown here which overlords have enough power to do that, from small overlords like Prick, Hatchet, Nifty and Husk, to big ones like Carmilla, Zetial, and Alastor. I imagine the bigger overlords have more power to give, but every bit counted in this moment. It /is/ a pretty 'everyone holds hands' type ending, but imo I think it works because 1: The majority of overlords helping were doing so for selfish reasons, aka 'if hell blows up it takes us/me with it so I'll help prevent that', and 2: We saw everyone's motives for why they helped out. We know that Rosie wants to protect the hotel and charlie (for reasons that are a mystery to us), and Alastor uses this as leverage against her so she will fix his staff for him. I /do/ think Alastor cares somewhat about the hotel, but he also knows how to manipulate a situation to ensure he gets what he wants. So in exchange for Rosie fixing his staff, aka granting him his full restored power, he agrees to help out with the shield. Rosie joins I presume for her own mysterious reasons, and Carmilla and Zestial are just homies lol. I love that the Vees were so done with vox's shit at that point that they put their own lives above what Vox wanted them to do. I think it was also very sweet that the song represented a moment in time where we could show how strong everyone could actually be when working together for a common goal, while standing beside an angel no less, and one who just sacrificed her own body for the life of a sinner. I think this coming season is gonna set up how much of an impact Emily's sacrifice will have on hell. What I WILL say is a massive negative for this season, is the same reason I said it for the last season. It. Needed. More. Time!! And by time I mean EPISODES. Like- a whole other act, preferably. I feel like if you gave each season 12 episodes it would fix a huge portion of the issues with it, mostly involving pacing, rushed plots/arcs, and missed potential. Like, Vaggi's name change needed another episode of setup. The reveal of angel as a spy to the hotel needed an episode. Alastor deciding to quit could've used more screentime, and ofc lucifer needed more screentime as well. If they had more time they could've better setup Lucifers role in the plot, and figured out a valid reason for why he couldn't get out of his situation rather than just brushing over it. There were a lot of things that simply needed more minutes, but this is all they were given and I imagine its very stressful trying to write so much story and character into eight 25 minute episodes oof. (with some wiggle room for slightly longer episodes tbf). Also, I think aside from trauma, Angel also decided to stay with Val because he /can't/ really leave. He's still bound by his contract, and the only reason they were letting him stay at the hotel before was to be their spy. Now, they have no reason to let him return. I'm sure Val will be tightening the leash on him again now that Angels back, and I know Angels probably too scared about what the Vees could make him do at this point. All I know is that season 3 is gonna be a big season for angel, based on some tweets from Viv! Also a big season for Lilith, Alastor, Lucifer, and I assume more screentime for Lute and other big players.

Athena

I feel like even just 1 more episode would help it feel less rushed.

Zimren

Hey Danny please react to Vampire Knight

Zimren

Understated in the recent FoB resurgence has been their most recent album, So Much for Stardust, which is like a more orchestral version of their original hits and it absolutely SLAPS

Eva

I find the fallout boy fan boying particularly funny because I was recently reintroduced to uma therman and I was like “ damn this some good shit” so relatable Danny relatable

zola ksiazek

Anyone else think it's kinda screwed up that Abel refers to Cain as the "braver son" when that was the dude who caved his skull in with a rock because God wasn't into vegetarianism?

Alyx

I feel like the Lute commentary is valid ( solely my opinion and not to the extreme extent people take it ) I absolutely loved gravity but I feel like it could’ve hit so much harder if we saw her being completely blocked this whole season and then her snapping and actually acting on what the lyrics say instead of having it in episode two and nothing happing with her character. In this case it makes her words feel empty which really sucks because from her perspective and standpoint they’re really powerful it’s just not communicated as well as it could’ve been which makes it fall flat leading to the valid criticism from people who like her character/find her really interesting and wanted more for her character as a whole

Robin

You got games on yo face?

Arcane_Kobold

Dude I love that you loved Charlie this season, so many people who hate on her don't understand why she acts the way she does. As the daughter of Lucifer, she is ALSO the sin of pride! She celebrates and starts talking early this episode cuz she's SURE she'll win, same with when she invited the Vs over. She doesn't consider the fact that she could lose or be taken advantage of, and she really struggles to say an authentic sorry. I think it's such an interesting part of her character and they really highlighted it this season

Wil

I'm always a sucker for a "we are the world" song when the story is built well. I cried at the finale of Carol and Tuesday for that exact reason 🥲

Eoghan Sinnott

The thing about the cheesy ending is it fits the show. We're watching a show about musical demons in hell. But from writing perspective they showed that when they NEED to all of hell can come together. They got all 12 overlords to work in unison to fix a problem.

Tadley Pererson

Angels turning on cherry had nothing to do with the brain washing from vox and was because Valentino gave him a command activating his contract, cause Val owns his soul. Same way that Alastor remotely had nifty go get husk and then bring both of them to the fight with the vs

AidanWizward

It’s because he’s a moth.

AidanWizward

I didnt really like the cheesy ass ending to this season at first, I was watching Vox's uprising and calling himself the Fuhrur hoping it would be building up to season 3 being a war arc between heaven and hell, exacerbating charlie's struggle to prove redemption as something sinners deserve that much more. But I think depending on how season 3 handles it, this ending could work out really well with charlie using this as a point to prove that even the overlords, some of hell's most evil residents, have good in them and are worth redemption, and I think Lilith's introduction will add a very interesting dynamic to all this whether she supports it or not.

CER

Im pretty sure the reason why Vox's powers didn't work on Val was because he's known to have bad eye sight, remember? Angle on season 1 said he did and Husk brings it up in the fight with him and Chery vs Val

CuddleFish5000

They need to have a cameo of Danny Motta in the human world at some point reacting to seeing a sinner or demon or something, and have him be voiced by Alex Brightman.

CER

Yeah some of the arcs fizzing out is a disappointment. It feels plotwise that 'Gravity' should have really happened next season though listening to the soundtrack it makes sense when you hear the finale.

J P

I too cried at sad Husk

Karyssa Creager

Congratulations Danny and Alex!!!! 😂

Karyssa Creager

Also the minions are made from Alastors powers, while the Shark seems to be a Creature made by possibly Baxter considering his past

Luka20

Danny, you're commenting on every ones fits and hair, but I'm loving your little bun. Icon. It looks very good on you. :)

Jac_the_sleepy

Danny = Cherry Bomb confirmed??

Jacob papenfuss

I love the ending because I think it really wraps up Charlie's arc with the hotel neatly. Like, the hotel is built, people are checking in, people want to be redeemed, they know it's possible now, so her original mission is complete. That leaves season 3 open to really explore the overlords (WHICH I THINK NIFTY IS ONE OF), Lucifer's psyche, Alastor's power and the vacuum Vox left behind. Having that 'happy ending' leaves open a lot of space for really cool dark shit to hit the fan!!

DungeonBrat

I will say I kinda liked the ending but it did feel kinda rushed like it was just thrown together last minute “oh solve this problem” and “finish that arc”

Troy Mello

Danny to be fair you make a good point about the legion of minions alastor used but we are comparing that to a multi ton flying robotic killer shark 🤣

Xtition

The end is cringe, but it's good cringe.

Bub

Soon he'll look like Critikal

Bub

This, and arguably it may not have been the blow to the neck that "snapped Angel out of it"- but rather the fact that Husk had to release Val to do so, and thus Angel had "helped" release Val as he had been told. So there's no way of TRULY knowing if Angel regained control, or simply completed his task.

Angel

HEY DANNY, Are you gonna react to Hazbin on Broadway?

Tahlia Grace

Danny going off on centuries being Fallout's top song gives me such life! Literally love every single other song on the phoenix album aside from "my songs know what you did in the dark", the fact that centuries is even above that is soooo bad lol

Fernwolfera

The ending is so cheesy and “power of friendship” bs but the song does scratch my brain with those harmonies

4 K

Danny this hair looks damn good on you just btw. The little half back, WITH the whispies? Hot 👍

sSommy Som

I was genuinely wondering if I should recommend that!!!!!

Kory Redgrave

So, I know Danny jokes about not suggesting anymore musicals but has anyone told him about the fact that Jeremy Jordan(Lucifer) was in the American version of Death Note the Musical? I don’t think it ever actually got any time on stage in America but they definitely recorded an album for it lol 😂

Joshua Weaver

I love this ending!! It's good to just have fun with things.

WildLoreCreatures

Her joints are visible in a lot of shots too, any time her outfit isn't covering them

Vicemage

Look. People also believed Alastor's last name was "Altruist" and Vox's was "Populi." You're asking for a lot for them to realize it was all his plan from the moment he was sitting on Susan's memorial bench.

Vicemage

oh, poor charlie got hit by the flanderization beam this season.

jyordyan

Anyone else think Danny is slowly turning into Odysseus with the hair?

ella nora

I think if they'd have played that whole mind controlled friend that you don't know is mind controlled trope it would've been shit on a lot given Vox doesn't even try to hide his mind controlling ability, plus its ANGEL DUST, my immediate thought on their situation would also be "he's gotta be getting mind controlled no other possibility" (with or without the knowledge of the ability Vox has)

DragonF

Patrick stump as abel is my favorite part of this season and it’s lowkey the only reason I even watched it, I watched season 1 as it came out, but it didn’t really hook me, but season 2 I think was miles better (even if I prefer a lot of season 1’s songs). Suffice to say I am hyped for when season 3 comes out and solely for the plot this time 💯

Arkidie

I also love that there IS the selfishness aspect of Hell coming into effect where they do it just to save their own asses so they can continue their lives in the ensuing days/months/years. I've seen a lot of people citing the whole Carebears thing but like, have y'all SEEN Charlie?!? If this was Earth and it was going to blow up and powers could save it, you really think stone cold killers would be all, "Yeah just let it blow up I ain't using my power to help"? People are inherently selfish so it really fits that Hell would team with a few angels to save themselves just to be selfish and get back at Heaven at a later date.

David Hunter

Danny not understanding the mechanics of the ending is pretty funny. the forcefield thing is what sera did with the other archangels to protect heaven earlier in the season and the confirmation that nifty is an overlord is gonna be cool when he figures it out

Anthony Maggio

Oh definitely

Dalton Schulik

Husk use to be an overloard. All of the overloards are able to contribute :)

Erika

I don't see anyone saying it, so I will. The shield they made around the bomb is literally the same thing Sera and the angels did when they locked down Heaven. It's all the Overlords and former Overlords choosing to survive together instead of die alone. Its them channeling their power to contain the explosion instead of trying in vain to escape it.

beckerboopin

So Cherri for sure sent Sir Pentious nudes right?

Giuseppe

Holy shit I will die if Danny reacts to the Mighty Nein. I will not be able to contain that level of crossover joy.

Jordan A.

Hey Danny, I'm sure this comment is already in here but Angel actually doesn't have a choice, since his soul belongs to Val (his manager) he has to do anything and everything Val tells him too. Just like how Charlie HAD to say "vox is the strongest sinner" because it was Alastor's favor being cashed in and that's what he told her to say. That's also why when Val said "Angel, baby, some help here" Angel went into fight mode, not because he was hypnotized but because Val gave him an order.

Tanya

I love grandiose, hopeful musical numbers that bring all the cast together to sing. I like my musical as heartfelt and cheesy as they are suppose be.

Yersi Fanel

I really love the ending. I'm kind of sick of adult cartoons being cynical and fucked all the time. I want a happy ending. I want cheesy musical numbers that save the day and sway people's hearts. Not all the time because that'd be a different show, but this show is ultimately about improving through community. I like seeing Mr. "I'm irredeemable and not worth saving" Husk being the first to step up and help Charlie and Emily out of no selfish reason. I like seeing Valentino stop being a piece of shit long enough to stop and at least try to do something. I like seeing Carmilla watch an angel risk her life to save Sinners and have her mind changed. I personally do have quite a few issues with this season, one of which being the lack of scale and the unclear rules of the power system and hierarchy, as well as the pacing and character use, (why establish powers Lucifer DOES have and then just not use them??) but ultimately I watch tv to fall in love with characters and feel something when things go right and wrong. And I just so happen to really want things to go right for them lol So yeah, I love the ending. Great reaction as always! Patrick Stump didn't disappoint! Can't wait for what comes next! <3

Alyssa the Pazuzu Apologist

I just love Alex Brightman signing with Patrick Stump during the "Bitch you better fall back"

Just_moonboy

Its all the overlords and former overlords lending their aid to help Emily remove the weapon before it explodes.

JayShay

Literally! They stopped trying to evacuate people because there wasn’t a way to escape the blast radius in time. They were all 100% going to die if it exploded. It reminds me of that one moment from Guardians of the Galaxy: “Why do you want to save the Galaxy?” “Because I live here, asshole. Any more stupid questions?” If it comes down to ‘die’ or ‘work together just once, just for today’ (like the lyrics literally spell out) most people will reluctantly help.

Rin

I dig the ending honestly. So many people are yelling about "it's Hell, why would they work together?" Seemingly forgetting that the cannon would have exploded and killed them all. This is the literal goal of Lilith, bring Hell together with song. Hell has never been more united, and that should absolutely scare the shit out of heaven.

Marcus Westphal

danny : i wanted them to kill luci! lucifer being a deadass immortal :

Pandreamonium

What really gets me is that reason why angel doesnt trust himself isn't because he was hypnotised by vox (I mean it's like a bit of it) but is instead because whatever deal he has with val means he HAS to do what ever he says. Like he wasn't hypnotised when he choked cherry. He just did it because val Asked for help. Not even ordered just like asked for it. That's why it weighs so heavily on Angel because everything he does for val he chose to do a long time ago when he gave up his soul. My little huskerdust heart is breaking for them

Jack

“There it is. THAT’S why everyone has been crying in my DMs for the last week… I’m not crying my eyes are itchy.” Basically, yeah! And now I’m screaming into the void on Bluesky with fellow Huskerdust fans because this is where we’re being left until next season - Angel not trusting anyone, especially not himself, and running back to Val because he can take what Val dishes out but he can’t take hurting his friends. Until season three that is our reality. And I just… P A I N. I’m in P A I N.

Rin

I am a sucker for uplifting and hopeful songs and moments so I absolutely loved the ending. But I do understand people's criticisms and it being "we won through the power of friendship"

Cain Henderson

I don't like the ending it was fine but I wanted the war in heaven.

Alex DeMars

Not gonna lie, I feel very valid after watching Danny go “oh Husk! Baby! I don’t like sad Husk!” Cause Keith David making his voice crack like that was NOT FAIR!

Thistle

The ending was dumb and cheesy and I loved every second of it

Steve_1996

I thought the ending did everything it needed to do. Them figuring out that Angel was hypnotized works for me because of the ending: Angel sold his soul and resigns himself to being irredeemable. We could have had an entire arc of them figuring it out and putting it together, but it makes it harder to (within the span of the time frame we are working with) land _this_. They could have carried it between seasons, but having this punch land at the end somewhat counterbalances the almost ridiculous sweetness of the Hell Coming Together™ arc and doesn't add to the Ridiculous Number of Things™ carrying between seasons. He can't "just quit" because he's under contract. It also confirmed something interesting, if not important: the only people contributing their power were those who were essentially archangels in power (Emily, Charlie), overlords of hell (Carmilla, Rosie, etc), or _former_ overlords of hell (Husk), …and Niffty. Which tells us that Niffty is very likely also a former overlord, or at least someone in that power class. Both she and Husk are in service to Alastor, and we know Husk is already, and for certain Baxter and Cherri weren't contributing anything but joining hands. I did not like Vaggi dropping the "e" and calling it a day, which I agree with you: it felt like a wasted opportunity to do… almost literally anything else. There were also a lot of little things that I didn't feel quite went the way I would have wanted them to. But overall: I thought it _worked_. The arcs with Alastor are _brilliant_ and beyond well written from beginning to end (it constantly felt to me like Alastor was taking calculated risks, not knowing quite sure _how or when_ things would pan out, but certain in his read on the situation and the people in it), the scene between Abel and Lute gives Lute an arc into defying _heaven_ rather than just hating _hell_, Charlie gets her Care Bear Stare moment which sets us up nicely for whatever Lute is going to do and however Lilith is going to shake things up, and Angel's arc is devastating and hard to watch.

Hrefna

The song bit was also paralleling Charlie next to Lilith, who also empowered and united the denizens of hell specifically through song, so there's some sort of power element to this ending song.

Emily Renee

I agree sooo much about Baxter and Lute is introduced now with their payout being in a later season. Its almost like they did that same thing with Vox and the Vees from S1 into S2

ChaoticSquish61

When you fangirled over Patrick last episode I got so excited for your reaction to this one, was not let down. All I’ve truly learned from this show is that I actually just want another OG FOB style album lmao

Megan Smith

I think Valentino has angels soul by contract right?

christian

I personally like that they immediately knew Angel must’ve been hypnotized because it shows how much they trust that Angel wouldn’t actually turn on the hotel willingly and also praise the V’s like that unless the V’s did something.

Fluffy Bunny

THE HAIR EATS THIS WHOLE VID DANNY YOU ATE THAT SHIT UP

Jordan Bartlett

I'm pretty sure that in the pilot, when they are introducing Alastor as an overlord and you can see other Overlords around him, you can see Nifty's silhouette in the bottom right corner!

Daniela

The way I was so excited for you to react to Abel’s song and your reaction was everything and more. Your reactions make my day, Danny!!

Abigail Hales

Abel is so awesome. Loved that song.

Rochelle Williams

Vox can’t hypnotize Val because his eyes are shit. I always understood vox’s powers as not hypnotizing directly, but influencing. Just that extra bit of pressure to believe what he says. It seems he can also straight up hypnotize one person (like angel) if it done a lot in small doses. I don’t think he can immediately have slaves. I think he can just get in peoples head like an ear worm type of thing.

Jade Jardine

Vox hypnotizing them in the end I think is because it shows that he believes Charlie will be able to rip them out of his “Cult”. Just like when he was alive he used his charisma to rise he did the same thing but when confronted with the possibility of losing control he forces it

Chris McFadden

Me reacting to Danny reaction: "just give it a minute!"

Not Danny North

Just real quick- It was overlords, Charlie, and Em doing the magic thing. So this does confirm Nifty is/was an overlord.

CaptainZer0

I had to come back cause everyone else's reaction to Abels song is so unsatisfying Danny really just vocalised how much I loved it

JePKo 22

Hear me out, Vaggi kills Lucifer to stop the cannon and kill. Right AFTER Charlie stops the cannon with Carmilla and they have to deal with that next season. She was just trying to save Charlie who may now be an orphan for no reason.

justda2ous

It's not nonsense its the personalised power of each of the overlords

JePKo 22

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Vox just suddenly deciding to hypnotize hell is weird, it just doesn't make sense. Honestly I feel like they could have scrapped the hypnotism thing

ceph

The magic shield established powers from heaven don't save the "I do believe in fairys" ass ending for me. I love this show and I love musicals but this ending felt like a cheap exit for a big problem.

Caleb Lambert

Imagine if lute is the antagonist of season 4 there is peace between hell and heaven so she tries to lead a revolution against heaven like Lucifer did

Bryant Burton

I was so disappointed that they saved the day with unexplained nonsense magic instead of ANY already established powers

Hawthorn

Just a minute or two talk explaining why they think he's mind controlled would of been nice, and Baxter having just a but more focus time to make the baby gave turn wounds helped. Though still overall liked the season and final episode

RPGeist

Agreed. It IS cheesy but it also demonstrates Sir Pentious' point in "Live to Live". Humans do a lot of things when they're scared, even join hands and sing kumbaya. Besides, cheese is delicious.

Leitmotif

Not every sinner can do that magical thing at the end just the overlords..which confirms that Nifty was/is an overlord too who probably like Husk made a deal with Alastor.

D3m0n

I literally did a 180 on Abel’s character because of less than a minute of fallout boy song XD

Purplefox

I thought the ending worked cause it is the same idea that heaven did to make a barrier

Austin S

I wonder if Danny would like Something Rotten with Christian Borle. I wish it was recorded like Hamilton on Disney was.

Xen Forest

bro got put into check with alex, its your move Danny how you getting out of this check

Red Raptor

Just gonna say, really appreciate your Fallout Boy arc in this video. Fallout Boy has been a classic for me since I was in school, and I agree with your favorite songs over Centuries. I can't stop listening to Abel's solo in the song as well! Great video as always, hope you're doing well!

Lillian Ricci

1) Danny literally pointed out that Val couldn't be mind controlled but didn't put 2 and 2 together it's cause his eyes are s***. 2) The fact Danny caught on to the Baxstabber ship pretty quickly. 3) Danny missed the fact that the "Care Bear powers" are cause they're overlords, it's a power specific to them and it's also a reveal that Nifty is technically an overlord (Husk already mentioned he was one but not Nifty)

JePKo 22

Assuming Vivs knows biblical lore- she could also go to earth; Cain being immortal is a popular interpretation of his punishment for killing able

GalaxyToffee

Honestly now I just want to see Danny review the FOB MANIA album 😂

Holly Harmon

I think I like the ending for so many reasons. But also did you peep that it was all overlords right? All overlords/ the princess ....but then Niffty?? Here's my theory: Lucifer was cursed and couldn't hurt the sinners, he's still a fallen angel. So if that machine was pulling his power and using it to shoot out a Lazer beam, all the overlords were putting their power into it, is it possible that did some weird reversal and Lucifer's little curse is negated and give him power that literally would make him 'King of Hell'. We pushed alot into the narrative that Lucifer can't hurt the sinners and had his wings 'clipped' for us not to do something about, ya know? And with Alastor now focused on Lucifer too? There's something to that. Okay no? Just me? Imma go lol

Kay

Danny your hair looks so fire dude

Abigail Hopkins

Ok funniest thing ive ever watched was danny randomly belting out fallout boy I was not ready for that

Robbie Schaffner

My main opinion is, if they had given "Gravity" to Lute here in the end episode it would feel so much bigger, and worry inducing for season 3.

Victoria Dobey

I’ve heard that Alastor is gonna be one of the main antagonists of season 3

Bandooka

Omg you are so right

Silentsspite

Vox can't hypnotize Val, because Val has such bad eye sight 🤣

Bre Col Taye

Angel still doesn’t have a choice though, I don’t think he was hypnotized when he had his hands around Cheri’s neck. It has more to do with Val owning his soul. He literally can’t go up against him. Also yes Abel’s song did slap so hard! Absolutely love fall out boy and can’t wait to hear more Patrick Stump! 🥰 Btw love the long hair! Got a little half up, half down man bun going on. ❤️

Palaidia

I start crying at 'i didn't have a choice when I had my hands around your neck ' 😭

Jade

Not gonna lie, I think the reason Lute had her song was to show the Adam obsession and this season has been just setting Abel up to disappoint her so badly that she seeks out Cain in hell next season

Bryant Hake

Don't u dare, let it GROWWW

Zally bee

Love the “oh yes Abel is going to save the day” 60 seconds later “POP OFF KING FALLOUT BOY IS THE SH*T.”

Mirapunk

You mentioned several potential problems people might have with the ending, and I'm sad to say ALL of them apply to me 😭 I hate that Lute just got sad and nope'd away after all the hype we got from Gravity. (Though I grant you that she will probably return next season, I wish they had come up with a more believable reason. AND I am pissed we missed their whole fight to stay with least-favorite-character-Abel.) I hated the weird "everyone's powers combined can get rid of the threat" deus ex machina. And I also hate that literally the only character walking away from this worse off is my baby, my beloved son Angeldust. My script doctor would be that Lute actually does kill Vaggi, which satisfies her blood lust (for now) and drives a wedge between Charlie and Heaven, which might make her mom (whose allegiances we aren't sure about) an even more interesting character to bring in. AND THEN beginning of next season or something, we find out that Vaggi has *actually* become a fallen angel, made sinner for her execution days that she hasn't yet technically atoned for. This would be a good way to send Charlie on an emotional/"growing up" arc without nixing one of your high-profile voice actors, lol. PLUS this would set up a potential Adam return as a sinner, which would bring Lute back into the fold and potentially continue her villain arc or wrap everything up, depending on where you want to go from there.

Erica Kriner

The cheesy care bear ending would be better for me to digest if like lute did anything this season or if they had revealed what alastor was supposed to do for Rosie in his end of the deal they had or like you had said if they went into the whole angel dust being mind controlled thing

Aris

i love all of danny’s ideas for why vox can’t hypnotize val… when it’s just because val can’t see shit 😂😂

Veritsas

I'm happy you agree that the Care Bear ending is kinda bullshit. And I'm happy that you're able to enjoy it despite that, it bothers me probably more than it should XD Well, the Care Bear ending and many other plot holes and writing problems, but the ending most of all Also, Angel went back to Val yes, because of trauma and self-loathing and all kinds of shit, but also because Val owns his soul. We don't know what exactly that means, but I can only imagine the things Val could do to Angel because of it, so he doesn't have many choices

Emsi

Husk and Nifty got to keep their overlord powers when alastor took their souls, and overlords have these powers based on how many souls they have which is why normal sinners dont have any powers

Lottie Carn

Im surprised no one else has said this, but the "power of friendship" ending isn't really entirely a power of friendship ending... Like, it is for the members of the hotel + emily, but that's it. The overlords were purely doing it out of pure necessity. If they didn't help, they all would have double died. No coming back from that. It's more to highlight the fact that it is entirely possible for Hell to come together for the greater good, even if for purely selfish reasons (ie: their survival). The powers were random (i even went like "since when could they do this"), however, a lot of shows randomly pull out powers like that from nowhere 😭. Personally, it doesn't bother me that much. Especially since only the overlords were using their magic, because only the overlords have magic. It took watching it back to realize Vaggi, Angel and Cherri weren't helping. But yeah... NOT a power of friendship ending but a demonstration of survival is how I saw the ending

Haylee Griffith

What happened to your hair? You are in need of a hair cut my dude!

Janet LaCava

Had the same reaction to Abel's solo. Crack indeed

Lorelei

Vaggies name did change. Dropped the e at the end Vaggi

Janet LaCava

Did people really not understand that Alastor was playing a long con??? He had an entire monologue RIGHT before the fight where he talked about needing a plan to get out of this predicament with Rosie 😭 Like literally had a lightbulb moment and then the very next scene he "got caught" by Vox 😭

Erica Kriner

Also yes I loved this ending. Cheesey? Well I love me some gouda and waaaay ahead of you on Mighty Nein. Thanks for sharing my fixations lmao

Delvin Delos

He choked on a moth, I'm guessing. It's stupid enough lmao

eloreon101

Femiroli is hilarious

Solidified Honey

Danny i think you should activate windows

Doodlebob

There’s a moment this season where Velvette’s head casually turns all the way around. I remember being surprised Danny didn’t remark on it but that was just one doll clue.

C.C. Rae

Same

Stanchskate

I agree that after such a banger of a song from Lute that she felt underutilized, but I'm blaming that predominantly on the fact that they had to squeeze everything into 8 episodes. When I saw that Emily, Charlie, and the demon overlords were Care Bear Staring the giant weapon, I was like, "OH MY GOD. THE CARE BEAR STARE." It was a delight to see and initially funny to me, and then I thought, "wait. We're...really doing the Care Bear Stare? Ah. Okay? I really wouldn't expect it from this adult comedy-centric show, but okay." It was a nostalgic call-back to me, and it was nice to see something sincere in the forest of sarcasm, one-liners, and r18 jokes HH usually do (which I also enjoy; the sincerity was just nice to see). It makes sense to me that it happened this way since Emily instigated it (and I'd totally believe that Emily would try to solve a problem that way, and no one else had any other plan, so why not join her?). I believe that Emily got the idea of shielding/containing the weapon with the same power that Sera and the other high angels (the seven virtues, I'm assuming) used when they used their Care Bear Stares to build that shield around Heaven. It was another blink-and-you-miss-it build-ups which is such a shame. I think a lot of HH's "problems" would be solved if they had some more episodes for wiggle room.

Stash Jones

Honestly so valid. She couldn’t believe VOX was being disingenuous and conniving when he clearly was. Of course she wouldn’t believe Angel would betray them. That’s what makes Charlie Charlie, assuming the best of people.

C.C. Rae

I feel like it is important to note the magic thing isn't every Hellizen: it's hellborn, heavenmade, and Overlords (current and former). Angel and Cherri don't have the magics. (Which leads to the ultimate question: why does *Niffty*??) Also, personally, I liked the bomb ending, it was cheesy and musical and a fantastic example of words just bouncing off of Brainwashing/propaganda, but actions actually cutting through. (And it exploding into a lil halo like doing this redeemed all of hell, if only for a moment, got me. It's blatant emotional manipulation on the show's part, but idc, it still totally got me.)

Ruby Baker

I have to say that I enjoyed the finale, and the whole season. Besides the songs being amazing, this season gave me goosebumps so many times throughout as well

Ted Harris

I absolutely loved the care bear ending !! I can't tell you why I can't tell you why it worked, but it did for me lol

Stanchskate

Lucifer literally got detained by a looney toons trap…

Danny Motta

It's not really the power of friendship, it's just the power of the overlords plus Charlie and Emily not wanting to fucking die

Unstablebeast

Bruh, the entire show has had random songs, why does the last song have to actually have a purpose beyond its a song while they are doing the task?

Unstablebeast

I think its just overlord level and above people putting their magic into a shield.....and the song is just a sing

Unstablebeast

He also like, literally can't kill Charlie, Danny you do realize lucifer and his family are stronger than the rest of hell right? Charlie is just very peaceful so she almost never enforces that power

Unstablebeast

Also with the angel things I think its more the fact that Val Owen's his soul a d made him do it and can make him do anything he wants. Rather then the hypnotisam

Crimson reapers. (Just because of the cythes)

so in regards to how they do the whole carebear/mlp thing at the end if I had to guess the way they are going to spin it is that it's a power of Charlie's from Lilith bc iirc empowering others with her song was like her main thing and the basis for her original uprising but that might have been from the no longer canon pilot

Killian_Jones_Hook

Husky and nifty used to be overlords thats why they can shoot the power streams

Crimson reapers. (Just because of the cythes)

I don't think they suddenly knew he was being mind controlled since Cherry was there and has dealt with the Vs. Charlie asks why he would say that stuff and it's not a secret that Vox can mind control people.

IzaSlug

Okay completely unrelated to the video but I love your hair like this you look amazing

Valley B

I get the minion thing however they were from his own power not external like the shark

Crimson reapers. (Just because of the cythes)

I'll be real, I'm glad we didn't get a protracted questioning of Angel's hypnotism. It would have been really easy for them to spend the whole episode with the cast questioning if Angel actually meant it. But instead we got a confirmation that the hotel crew know their friend better than that and know he wouldn't say stuff like that if he had another choice. It reinforced Angel's bond with the rest of the cast and avoided a pretty common plot. I dunno, I'm just glad I didn't have to sit through yet another instance of "Oh no! Our friend who's been nothing but supportive of our mission is saying completely out of character stuff and siding with the people that made them wildly uncomfortable/actively hurt them! Clearly they never cared about us at all!" I like when storylines acknowledge the bonds between their characters

tilseptemberends

It does feel like the season could have used a couple more episodes or time just setup some of the themes that suddenly just happen or resolve in the finale with no development. Even a throw away lines like "Lilith was able to use song to draw out the souls of Sinners to preform miracles" would have helped the care bear stare feel less sudden and forced, and give Charlie growth in her abilities from her mothers side.

GrandStorm

Niffty is literally John Silksong (Hornet) and she's most definitely a secret or former Overlord lmao

Delvin Delos

Aside from the slight spelling change it’s about Vaggi choosing her name rather than accepting what Adam gave her, she’s made it her own. It’s also why none of the others worked when she tried them: she had attachment to the name, just not that version and its origins.

Sarah Rodrigues

The thing with lute is that her breakdown and rebellion and madness vizi said she wants it to be a build up to more that this was just a slight introduction to it.

Crimson reapers. (Just because of the cythes)

I personally think centuries is Fall Out Boys weakest song and the fact that it is the top on Spotify is a crime.

Kimberly Oblinger

I agree this pacing was wackthe whole thing went so quick they def should have released 1 ep/week

Soph

also also, pretty sure it isn't canonically confirmed but the theory is that the one's who are able to use the flowy power at the end are super strong, i.e. Charlie daughter of Lucifer fallen angel and king of hell, or Emily, a seraphim, or they are Overlords. This means that a lot of people are saying this is confirmation that Niffty is or was an Overlord, and has made soul deals for power before, she is the only one other than the above mentioned that can do this and hasn't been confirmed an Overlord, like Alastor or the Vees, or even Husk, pretty cool. This theory is especially supported by how Cherry, Angel and Baxter, three characters who have not canonically become Overlords, just support the team by singing and holding their hands instead of joining in.

Shi

as far as Charlie instantly knowing that Angel was brainwashed, i kinda looked at that as Charlie *assuming* he was brainwashed, because the alternative is thinking he willingly betrayed them, and she wouldn't wanna accept that

eman5112

I think you were approaching the start wrong, regarding Charlie & Co knowing Angel is mind controlled. I would instead look at it as them being unable to believe any other truth. He must be mind controlled because the Angel Dust they know couldn't possibly do such a thing. So I think it was more a denial of other options as opposed to knowing the truth.

Ani Blade

I asked the exact same thing at the start of the episode lmao

Delvin Delos

To be fair they never really showed signs or angel Turing away from the hotel just time where he was upset with Charlie but not the hotel as a whole so I can see why she came to the conclusion of mind control

Alec_nder

WHY DIDNT VAGGI GO WITH VAGATHA! I was rooting for Vagatha the WHOLE SEASON. Also, WHY DIDNT WE GET MORE ABLE SINGING.

Haley Barnett

I loved this episode up until the last few minutes, I don’t care for the power of friendship being the thing that saves everyone and I only like Abel’s parts in the last song

Noelle Harris

I’m waiting for the Danny X Alex fics

Alec_nder

Definitely not my top season idk they did lucifer dirty this season like Charlie never apologize and no one even really cared when he almost kinda died in the VOX tech weapon. Idk is it just me or did our boy Lu get the short stick?

Atlas

I treat this show pretty differently purely becuase I know going into it vivzie woulda preferred to have 3 or 4 more episodes a season than we get so the arcs get kinda spread out differently.

Insomnia524

Danny: "Everyone eats!" ~ a few moments later ~ Danny: "Huh?..." 🥺

Hanners

18:00 so sinners can still die like normal they just "respawn" in a way because of the whole eternal punishment thing. they only perma-die through angelic weapons or means

Tyler Crowder

I'll be honest, you took her hair getting burned off a lot better than I thought you would. Lol

Erin N

I was so excited to see you react to Abel's part in the final song! I knew you would love it the second I heard it

Daniela

wait... how exactly did you think Velvette was able to pull off each and every infuriating costume change if not for the fact that she is a doll? But seriously though, yea she has always been a doll and it really makes sense for her character and business in hell

Shi

Cause same video get uploaded to YouTube as well, just with the music dubbed over and YouTube will copyright

Lindsey DeGeeter - Baker

so glad you were also confused by velvet being a doll

Soph

does this mean val died in a moth related way??

Soph

Killing off Lucifer wouldn’t change the political landscape all that much though since it’s well established that he’s purposefully ignorant of the political climate and all the goings on in hell.

Ryan Leftley

Real

CuddleFish5000

Loved this, loved this, loved this💜💜💜💜

Calvin Hubick

yeah it's actually good writing to plant seeds for later lol idk why ppl are mad about that

Soph

completely unrelated but I love the cute lil half up hairstyle you got going on, it makes you look like a fantasy character <3

Shi

Sorry Danny, I couldn't pay attention to the first half of this video because I was distracted by your lush hair and updo (please for the love of god don't ever stop it looks AMAZING).

Emily Tripp

Sooo, I don’t know if anyone has talked about yet, but has anyone else noticed that if was only overlords, or those of equal or greater power to the overlords were the only ones using “care bear powers?” Does that mean Nifty is or was an overlord?! Maybe Danny will get his Nifty power scale wish… 🤔

Sollux16

The reason Nifty & Husk can do the care bear stare is because they are overlords

Ryan Mcquade

yeah I feel like the logistics of the hypnosis were really never explained

Soph

the man bun is giving problematic

Soph

I definitely liked this season more than season 1

Shardonay Hardy

Not Danny living vicariously though Velvet to the fantasy of looking as fire as you are petty

Pierce

Gosh that half updo is making me bark

DeAnna W

About the possible "questioning angels allegiance" plotline, it wouldve been really fun to explore! Unfortunately amazon hates fun and only allowed for 8 episodes a season, and since we're on the last episode theres sadly no way that couldve been a possibility

Fallen Snow

Not railed from behind

Shardonay Hardy

NGL, a PISS reprise but being based as Husk and Angel beating the piss out of Val while being lovey-dovey would SLAY!!! 😈

LaLa

Why is 30% of eps cut out including all the best parts

Rodney

I'll start with I love this show and this season was good! No I didn't like that Charlie just magically knew Angel was mind controlled- I also didn't like how much nobody cared about Lucifer like your dad was getting the power sucked out of him and you can't even run over to him and catch him before he falls, also that Lucifer's pain is always like...played off as a joke? And they didn't even make up after??? I really hate how Charlie's direction went and most of the writing with Lucifer this season but otherwise I loved most everything. Also finally Abel got to SING. ALSO people really just need to be patient- let the characters cook, Lute is surely going to downward spiral with S2 forcing her to not fight

Ollieosa

Let’s go

Redmolehill

I agree it was weird they suddenly knew angel was being mind controlled but I was fine with it bc I was dreading sitting through the devilment of that--I hate misunderandings

Soph

Let’s go! Danny the man-ny!
