Six the Musical 1 (Original Music)

Comments

Wow Danny your singing voice here sounds way different then on YouTube

Tacocat11

I would argue that Anna of Cleves easily ended up with with happiest life, don't feel too bad for her lol

gattinarubia

Fun fact: I went to high school with the actress who played Katherine Howard in the 2022-2023 Broadway production of this show. She was also Eliza Hamilton in the North American tour of Hamilton 2019-2022 and is currently playing Glinda in the North American tour of Wicked. I was also a theater kid and I think we only did one show together despite overlapping for 3 years. We never really got close or became good friends... Cool story, eh?

gattinarubia

I had to laugh so hard at his misunderstanding of Jane Seymours wordplay. Jane _Seymour._ It's he name. And she does wordplay with it "Not what I _seem or_ am I, stick around and you suddenly _see more_"

Saiyasha

Tbf anna of cleves kinda got the jackpot of them. He married and divorced her after six weeks, because he is a petty little idiot, sso she got some of his estate and lived her best live. So she kinda got the best of them

Marie-Sophie Buldt

don't feel bad Danny, for both Six AND Hamilton I was just sitting there like "yeah no, my school didn't teach me SHIT about u guys" (after hearing Hamilton, i got tipped $10 at work and actually noticed it WAS Alexander Hamilton 😅😅💀)

Evans Design

As both a musical theater and Tudor History nerd, this is one of my FAVORITE shows I’ve ever seen, live or otherwise. And I am always on pretty much all of their side, except for Jayne Seymour. Though it may be an unpopular opinion, I honestly find the Catherine of Aragon vs Anne Boleyn conflict less contentious than Anne Boleyn vs Jane Seymour. Jane Seymour is only so canonized because she had a male child before she died. It doesn’t matter to most people that Mary 1 and Elizabeth 1 were two of the most significant monarch in English history! 😤 (vents feminist rage)

Miriam Seal-Gray

I loved watching this in person, I am however very biased to the cast I saw, which had multiple understudies performing. It was so fun to watch the dynamics between the songs

KitsudeRose

My favorite is Anne Boleyn, but the most tragic character has to be Catherine Howard

TriggerHappy89

I saw it on Broadway with a friend, and it really does hit different. The energy is so palpable and the Queens I saw it were amazing, especially Catherine of Aragon. Her presence was undeniable.

Tatiana Melendez

dude danny would eat this shit UP live ik i did

Arin

You are absolutely right that the energy in this live performance and the way it hits is so different. I saw it with the touring American cast. The atmosphere is very concert like with folks cheering and singing and clapping along. There are rave lights at one point, it is a blast and the whole place is charged with excitement. I think the anamatics do a really good job of keeping it a cohesive story for someone who hasn't seen it in person, for the most part. A lot of them make good use of sticking to the stage outfit designs (including color coding) used to help you keep track of the characters and of course the medium lends well to story telling.

Lunal

If you've never seen a musical reference another musical you should see the A Musical number from Something Rotten

Mikaela Steinert

10:35 actually Danny ☝🏼🤓 Linn says in Take A Break in Hamilton "I trust you'll understand the reference to another Scottish tragedy without my having to name the play. They think me Macbeth, ambition is my foll"

Tanya

I can't wait

Cass

Why? It's on YouTube...

Alexis Clark

I am SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! He’s gunna love the ending but I feel like Bolyn and K Howard songs are gunna be the best reactions 😂

Emma Flax

The way I squealed when I saw the title

Catherine Turner

Honestly they covered Henry the 8ths wives in my history class in high school (I think primarily due to the impact on religion/the creation of the CoE) but I’ve also literally heard people lament that “[US] school taught us about Henry the 8ths wives but not how to pay taxes” . While I can’t imagine all US curriculums cover this bit of English history, I definitely think there are quite a few.

Rachel Shockley

…I should have read the comments before leaving my own… whoops! 😅 Funny enough the two you mentioned are legit like the only ones I could remember (we spent like a full 2 months on Macbeth and very little else in my English class)

Rachel Shockley

So I gotta say Danny, Lin Manuel Miranda DOES reference a lot of different musicals or media in Hamilton, they reference Macbeth a few times (“screw your courage to the sticking place” and like straight up comparing people to Macbeth & Mcduff at one point), and “Model of a Modern Major General” is from a song from the Pirates of Penzance. There are A LOT more that went over my head, but yeah looking into all the references & allusions is pretty cool!

Rachel Shockley

Surprised to see you reacting to this! But can’t wait to see your responses to the different songs lol

Boudica

Oh boy he is gonna love the end of the musical

Eren Volkman

The way my mouth dropped when I saw this title

Brianna Morrison

Danny if you look up Six Slime Tutorial on youtube you'll find this specific performance they're using for this animatic. It's surprisingly well shot consider it's a big o' no no, but it's a solid watch imo

RoarItsKy

I love Anne

amelia

So for the musical referencing another musical thing, Lin-Manuel Miranda DID actually do that! In Hamilton! Washington at one point says "Now I'm the model of a modern major general" which is in reference to The Pirates of Penzance! He also has Ham go on a tangent about Macbeth later.

Mythogaychic

It does also do a direct musical reference to the last 5 years

Matt E.

I love how he thinks Catherine Parr is gonna be some sort of battle queen that defeated King Henry. That would be so much cooler.

Atlas V

Um not a musical referance but Hamilton does directly compare himself to Macbeth (then dies). Also please react to the live Samantha Pauly version of all you wanna do it is insane how much emotion her performance specifically adds to the song.

Leila Reeder

Did I join the Patreon just for six the musical...yes yes I fucking did

MrSmilemore

To be fair about the "treating it like common knowledge" bit, it was created by English people, to be performed in England. I would assume that the general English public is probably going to be at least a little more knowledgeable about a notable king of England than people from elsewhere in the world

Ace

There is a single line in this musical that hits like a slap to the face and I am hoping it's one that sticks out to you as well

Salem Hedeen

Anne Boleyn is and always will be my favorite. I really think you need to see it live, it’s amazing.

Yukio Ishii

Ive never seen a person described as a roguelike

M Mackenzie

Idk if it's possible for you to do but for All You Wanna Do, you have to watch Samantha Pauly's live version. She shows the emotions so well. It's a must

Katie

AGREED!!!

Jada

YES!! omg the emotion portrayed in the live recording is UNMATCHED

Jada

lmao did bro not notice the fact that there are 3 catherine’s

Jada

sad ur not reacting to a live recording but still overjoyed your reacting to one of my top musicals!! animatic or not 🤩

Jada

godspeed for when you get to all you wanna do

SpicyReyes

My husband's fave when we went to see it live was Anne of Cleves! Mine is a tie between Boleyn and Catherine Howard

BriarKenail

Danny always gets me into new stuff or re gets me into stuff I already like time to listen to the musical over and over

Joey Miller

I totally think you should see it live I finnaly got to see it live in D.C last fall. And it was awesome!!!!

Austin S

Danny just so you know, you can watch Six the musical live in Hollywood next year

Keychi

There's a song in the musical "Something Rotten" that's just a whole song of references to other musicals! It's literally called "A Musical" lol

Janaya

Please react to the broadway version of Katherine Howards song specifically, Samantha Pauly did the BEST vocal performance for All You Wanna Do, and pretty much everyone agrees!

ComradeToast

I actually got to see Six live like a year ago! It was an incredible experience, and they had drinks themed for the musical that you could buy beforehand, both alcoholic and not which was a really fun gimmick. I still wear the hat I got there all the time. It’s definitely better live imo

boneking

Just joined and wanted to say that Danny's lisp is definitely more visible than it is auditory!

Avo

said it on youtube but will say here too: I would LOVE if you reacted to the Katherine Howard introduction\roast before all you wanna do. such a great bit. also just generally all the in between lines. also, Katherine Howard is my favourite! I am sure this has come up but you should watch "All You Wanna Do" live version!

Inbal 42

I loved this show when I saw it live when it came to my city

Emily Miller

Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard are defo my faves they're songs are pure boppppss !!!

Amy

According the instructions you put on the tide, dab it off rinse repeat. Time consuming but kinda effective. Me? I use shout. Spray that sucker, pat off the stain is need be, and throw it in the wash.

Tabimae

I would kill to see him react to Nerdy Prudes Must Die

Jay O

I honestly think the wives of King Henry is the Roman empire of women

Maddy Dombrowski

I saw it live in person twice in 2025 and saw the movie (UK). I do not know if they offer it in the US as a movie yet. But Def look it up if you are interested! And go if you can! If the US is too expensive, the UK is really not. I got a seat near the front for £70 the night of (one night)! I really like Anne Boleyn! It is so worth seeing in person if you like the songs! It is such an experience! It was exhilarating!

The Doctors Jenny

Each of the characters is partially inspired by real life pop icons and singers. Catherine of Aragon is inspired by Beyonce, Anne Boleyn is inspired by Lily Allen and Avril Lavigne, Jane Seymour inspired by Adele, Anna of Cleves is inspired by Ariana Grande and Britney Spears and Catherine Parr is inspired by Alicia Keys. The inspirations just give a general vibe to their songs and personalities in a small way, and I thought it was really interesting

Sleepy Durgen

Love this musical, I have gone to see it 5 times, wanting to go see it the 6th time in England because that feel fitting. That said my favorite song is Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard and favorite personality is Anna of Cleves.

Sleepy Durgen

Babes “see more” was a pun on the Queen’s name Jane Seymour 😅

Hannah Geary

Yeah the queens are spouseed to be pop stars

maiya walker

Your nails in the intro bit were fire!!! ✨️👀

Tessa

I don't think it's a reference to little shop of horror. I'm pretty sure it's a play on her name which is Jane Seymour.

mirandah

Yes! They were first cousins.

Regulus

Someone mentioned in on yt, but I’ll say it here too: you can react to any of the Starkid shows on YT without copywrite claim. They are super chill about reactors and understand not all of us can go to the theatre. So I recommend them!

Pupcuz1

There’s a live show coming to LA in February!

Pretzel

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Catherine Howard and Anne Boelyn cousins?

A Shower Overlord

Also like have for tissues for ‘all you wanna do” it is a bop but also very sad

Ily

I saw this live on the west end and it was FANTASTIC definitely go see it live if you're able

Ravyn

I got to see Six the Musical three times in Chicago and it's so much fun.

Northerly K

Just repeating what someone else said in the youtube comments, but all of their songs are copyright safe, so if you used the real songs on the YouTube video it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Kronos last name not important

Danny, if you want a musical that constantly references other musicals, watch Something Rotten. You don't even have to react to it, it's just dope asf

Kate

My favorite is Cathrine Howard bc she deserves SO MUCH better but also her song can be a bit triggering in a ‘Hold Them Down’ kind of way so look out for that

tabitha

papa, more movie

Forrest

I love how you can hear the last doot that Danny sung during 5:58

Kate

TIDE TO GO STICKS SUUUUUUUCK

Lottie Carn

Hey, um I’ve messaged you on your Threads, swharry90 And Solostarfox on your discord messages with an important question 🙋‍♂️ 😅

Sy Harry

If only I didn’t live exactly in the middle and as far as you could be. But I hope everyone who gets to go has so much fun

Ily

Six, Hamilton, and Dear Evan Hansen are what got me into listening to more musical music. Absolutely hope you continue reacting to the other songs!

A Shower Overlord

Yay Danny! (If you react to Gnomeo and Juliet, my life is yours)

Kate
