Y’know it’s funny, you can trace every single main va to a character in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: We already have the noted ones with Tamaki being Ed and Renge being May. Kyoya is actually Scar which feels a fun inversion of character. On the opposite kind of flip, Mori is Roy. To match bigger characters, Haruhi is Winry and Hikaru is Ling. Finally that leaves Honey who is actually the same actress for Truth, believe it or not. That leaves Kaoru, who is Bido, the one follower of the first Greed we meet that the second Greed ends up killing under central near the end of the series.

I think Hikaru is the fan favorite, he's talked about a lot more especially because of future episodes, but Kaoru is mine and quite a few ppl's favorite. I think the big difference is Hikaru is more outgoing, impulsive, and hot headed whereas kaoru is more introspective, emotionally mature, and he looks out for others more. Of course they're both mischievous and love doing bits but... you'll see what I mean in future episodes when it comes to their differences.

It can be jarring at first but the whole brothers in love bit is a popular trope and they’re leaning into it and satirizing it to appeal to that demographic! Ok so like, I usually don’t comment cuz I feel like it gets lost but here goes. Learning about “thirsty women anime culture” is sort of this show. All of the boys are playing specifically BL or even shojo manga romantic interest tropes, Harui being the only one he sees past there characters. That’s the thesis, cuz even IRL host clubs do use characters so it fits well. Basically requesting the host would be buying a romance manga. The twins represent the sort of fucked up part of that, I mean even the US has gross things with step family’s in adult entertainment. In short, the twins aren’t having an actual relationship, even in the context of the show it’s them trying to play that taboo demo that sadly exists. Sorry this was long, I just wanted to reassure you they’re not actually doing anything.
