The fight took longer than expected but it was rather enlightening. I was also happy to see that gun being brought back even if I genuinely forgot about its existence because of how long it's been. And Rias bringing up the change in his hair color was pretty fitting considering how good a match the two of them were before.

I wonder what heroic sports will be summoned, I hope EMIYA will be! Now for the chapter, what a fight to start off with! A spar between Vali and Sirzechs! The part where Vali countered destruction by enveloping himself in a consistently regenerating mana layer was a smart idea even if it only works briefly. It’s also ironic that Sirzechs technically used the same method to keep his demonic energy up against Vali’s light. Sirzechs’s true form is something I’ve seen a few takes on, but I haven’t seen one with the magic circles carved into his body like this one, it gives it a cooler more visceral feeling. From there the fight went about as expected, with Vali just not being able to touch Sirzechs, but it was a good fight all the same! Fighting until he went unconscious was a fitting end for Vali’s spar. Afterwards the conversation between Shirou and Rias was well written and heartwarming. For a second I genuinely believed when Rias insinuated that she was pregnant, that would have been crazy! Rias’s noble gear being based on that flintlock NP with the ship that uses her vast reserves as a power source seems like it’ll turn out to be a versatile and powerful Noble Gear. Lastly, mention of the Kyoto trip was a good grounding point time wise, it’s crazy how much stuff has happened before it and I can’t wait for the confrontation with the hero faction in Kyoto!

Vali was getting his armor pealed off with every attack he received without being lethality injured. Vali showed off his might as well, not only his raw power, but his talent and how much he has grown since his fight at the peace talks. He adapts fast and has been putting in work to master close ranged combat with his spears and now swords as well (plus adding Shirou's and Gilgamesh's sword rain move). The clone move was smart, Vali probably was inspired by Bikou and having to deal with Loki. Super Devils having a demonic evolution is a neat idea(not sure if that is or isn't a thing in DXD). Rias probably getting a pirate ship is something that could be the source of a ton of gags and pranks. It gives large scale destructive power and also fits with her making stands and complicated mana constructs with plenty of moving parts. Might even find a way to have it store energy which is always a huge +. Irisviel throwing a fit about Shirou both fighting Loki and killing Loki while Kiritsugu tries to deal with it is a funny scene to think about. The next clash with the Hero faction draws near. It will be quite a fun school trip/ vacation. Kuroka has no idea that Yoruichi is mad at her, it will be interesting to see how that meeting eventually goes. Ise is still in need of medical attention and will need something soon or he is going to be in trouble. There is no way anything dangerous got stolen from Heaven. Definitely not a new plot line approaching.
