Good news, and probably last news about him for

Comments

Looks like a big change involves the personality of great red. Still him being the one to save Asia was a good call on your part. Now let's see who saves everyone else from the rampaging dragon.

Hurray for Arthur’s recovery! Finally Didodora caught the pummelling he deserved, thank goodness for Asia waking up at the right moment. Shalba showed up earlier, early enough to give a showing that he couldn’t in cannon, but ultimately it ended up in a similar way with Shalba and the JD, with the exception that Shalba escaped. Then there’s Zolgen, I did not expect him to be carrying out the revival of all the original Maous! For the second half of the chapter, Issei going into JD and then being released into the stadium is understandably a horrible situation, to stop him without mass destruction you’d probably have to have Vali divide him repeatedly like in cannon. Great Red later mentioned that ‘the group’ should be passing by so I assume Vali will be showing up next chapter. Also speaking of Great Red and the Dimensional Gap, I think you’ve written the best possible experience of an average being in the DG, especially the madness aspect. Then there’s Great Red himself, the one who’s rarely shown in the fics I’ve read, yet you gave him a humanoid alternate form, showed a bit about him, and even had him take action, that was unusual and intriguing! I look forward to the next chapter and seeing how this attack from the old Satan faction arc will wrap up.

I'm intrigued by your portrayal of Great Red. As I remember it, he was described as having a "delinquent" personality. And now I see "Giant Teddy Bear" lol. Considering both these things, I can see why Bob would think that GR and Shirou might be in some way related. Speaking of, can't wait to see what Shirou was dealing with and how he'll deal with Ise.

Thanks for the kind words and let me say that I sort agree with you but this sequencing of chapters were also me trying to make nothing into something. You see, you are absolutaly right about Diodora in ways that baffle me because what he did was beyond awful. Forgetting Asia for a moment, the guy ruined the lives of another fifteen women and that was just despicable yet he is also... a nothing. Not even a side note. Considering how important he is for Asia then he should at least be something. So I tunned him up to eleven, as his part on the Old Satan Faction plan should be important since Rias would be stuck with him for the foresable future which also meant he would get extra resources to build him up as a threat while also presenting someone else after Lakmia using a King Piece. Also it gave everyone a chance to show their development, especially Akeno as a priestess and Ravel new part as a Knight. About Shirou... his scenes were cut for pacing because when he shows up it will be mostly clear where he was and what he was doing. He had a small POV, Irina had another when pondering stuff about the war but... neither really flowed well because the main fights were with Serafall, when the stadium was evacuated, and then with Rias Peerage in a whole different dimension. The pacing got akward and unfortunetely those small scenes had to go or they would get in the way. Maybe I should have left a small line like, 'Everyone out of the stadium and showing Shirou and his group leaving' but it was a line and I never found the right place for it.

First of all, happy to hear your dog Arthur is doing well. Now onto what I've been putting off saying for the past few chapters, but I feel like this is the weakest arc you have written so far aside from the "Raynare arc." While I loved the battle with the old satan faction, what dragged this arc down was how much time was put into the fight with Diodora and his peerage. You put way too much focus on a fight against someone who, even in the original LN, is a nothing villain. We even end up with same results as the LN with Issei using the juggernaut drive. Not to mention, the lack of Shirou's involvement in this arc or at least seeing things from his POV. In past arc's you have been great with balancing making the fights entertaining and on who should be getting the focus for character development through the fights. Here it just felt like you were dragging your feet. I hope this does help you because I love this story and want it to continue.

is it just me or does Great Red seem to have some relation with Shirou?

Bob

When Issei started destroying the city, I could only remember this scene: https://youtu.be/UPuWdr6lyfU?si=rlRbpa19FUvgXNTe

Yep. It's part of the prophecy that illya sees all the time and also supported by the fact that Avalon stops goetia from encroaching on shirous soul and over running it. The only way from goetia to overtake shirous souls as we see in the prophecy is for Avalon to be kicked out since Avalon can't really stop being itself. This we know that shirou will eventually lose Avalon.

Did author say Shirou was gonna lose Avalon?

Julien

Very nice to hear that Arthur is fully healthy. I'm always worried about everyone else's dog so much, because of my own. My dog's time is slowly coming. At 19 years old, every sign that something is wrong with her always gets my heart rate up. That worry now seems to go to other people's dogs too. I hope that Arthur stay super healthy for days to come.

Alan

Huh....... I'm still wondering where shirou is. The only thing I wondering about is how shirou loses Avalon, it's obviously when all four original Satan's show up and then shirou goes off and pulls out avalon because he and Medusa know what goetia looks like then he knows that goetia will be enough to stop them. Love the chapter and can't wait for more!
