Finally Baeber Reborn vs Our Boi, which gives some serious Dante vs Vergil vibes "If you want it, you'll have to take it...But you already knew that". I'm so happy that Best Waifu Kirei appeared. Also can't wait to see the beating Diodora's going to get. If no other chapter comes out, I wish you happy and relaxing holidays in advance.

Some interesting interactions over breakfast, and Shirou not wanting Altria to pull Caliburn, it makes me wonder if you plan on leaving it in Kuoh or if you have a larger plan for it later. Medusa gaining a temple and snake surveillance over Fuyuki is smart and should also help her growth as well. Kirei Kotomine, his introduction was handled well, conveying his ominous energy to everyone. His conversation with Shirou was crazy, I didn’t expect them to have the similarities talk so soon if ever here, so it was a nice surprise. Shirou fighting Altria on her pulling Caliburn is probably one of the most authentic ways he’d go about it, the last chapter of the year ending on the beginning of a good fight is a big cliffhanger, but you definitely deserve a break so I’ll just wait for the next one! Make sure to enjoy the winter holidays and to relax!

On the stronger side of the balance it isn't just the strength that matters but also skill and other parameters, not even counting Noble Phantasms. For example nobody can fight Hercules at this point but almost everybody can beat Shakespeare in a fight so long he doesn't unlesh his NP.

2023-11-29 04:33:34 +0000 UTCI love this chapter. It really builds up the inevitable conflict that did happen in the chapter between Shirou and Altria. I like that Kirei is there. I'm also surprised at the reach he has because he apparently met Gabriel. I am interested to read how his role in the story plays out. Medusa getting a temple is pretty hype, this might accelerate her growth more as we will probably see her adult form eventually. I do love the parallels between Shirou and Altria though, especially since it is a battle between ideals. Overall, good chapter and have a fun vacation!

So, at a good time. I'm a little worried about that olive branch, you know, I'm a conspirator. And now looking at Jeanne's example, I can't help but think of a woman with dissociative identity disorder and a double balance braker. Well, thank you for answering that little thorn that I had nailed. To be honest, I've been carrying it since Okita is mentioned for the first time in the fic. But among so many things, ugh. Altria shot factors about the meaning of being 'King'.

2023-11-26 20:03:45 +0000 UTCAnother thing about that should be mentioned is that Shirou can't make original Noble Phantasms yet because his Legend isn't that big or old. Muramasa's swords are still technically better because of their status but with time he can catch up... or cheat. Yes, Shirou can cheat out Noble Phantasms under certain conditions like he did with Caliburn but again it depends on the materials. His greatest advantage with UBW is the processing power his RM gives him. Sure it isn't the strongest one in combat but give the guy time, the proper materials and knowledge and he will arm anyone with the best weapon for them. It was his body Muramasa needed to complete his masterpiece even before Susanoo and Hephestus got involved because of the Alien God so Shirou is capable of reaching those hights by himself given time and the right sort of challenges.

Now about some of the stuff you commented, particulary about descendants and reincarnations I will defend that even from DxD author because it isn't much used. But, and this is a big, big BUT, he kinda wrote himself in a corner by making most of his protagonists devils as it makes no sense that the Hero Faction attacks with the reincarnation of Jeanne d'Arc, inheriting the soul can be interpreted as such, and doesn't go around rapping Bible verses and knocking out devils left and right... you understood what I mean, right? About Shirou's capabilities that is easy, remember that every new sword that he sees he learns their blueprints and is capable of replicating them. The problem is materials and that was where the 20% came in that occasion, Caliburn's Cores are special, as they should be since the sword makes someone effectively imortal, and Shirou has no means of replicating them period while Clarent didn't have those Cores. Other swords, like Muramasa, he can do so easily as they were made with human techiniques alone. This is a good point to say that skill wise Shirou is already equal or superior to human Muramasa but is far from his Heroic Spirit self that had all that skill and an infinity number of swords to draw knowledge from. The human Muramasa's swords are still better Noble Phantasms because of the guy's legend and Shirou still developing his so he can't make original Noble Phantasms even if Noble Gears puts him at the same level in a sense. Also he haven't seen Gram or Merodach yet, or maybe never, so he can only use Legends as points of comparicion but to be fair Caliburn is the only swords that gives immortality so even if it is weaker offensively there is an argument of which one is the best Noble Phantasm.

Now, if you could solve a small question, you would help me a lot. When Shirou wins Muramasa he tells himself that he would focus on mastering the forging technique, time passes and Rías says that Shirou advanced so much that he can make swords capable of being close to an NP, then Shirou re-forges Calibur and he says that he can forge one, the next chapter he says that he can only make a sword that works at 20% of the original and now it turns out that he can make a better one? You know that this Clarent was made as a substitute for Calibur and that Shirou made an impossibility with Lakmia's sword (which we didn't see how he forged, since it didn't last at all). But where is Shirou's ability really located? Before it was said that Calibur was a powerful sword only below Excalibur and it is true that this is affirmed by Shirou, the narrative is different. And well, he hasn't seen the other swords yet. Canonically, Merodach and Gram take Calibur out of the drawer. And the argument that she is backed by God is lost. Merodach is given to Gilgamesh by her father and Gram is nailed to the tree by Odin. This is more of a doubt than a criticism, Shirou>Nameless Squires>God/Draig/Merlin. Would it be something like that? He hasn't even mastered his RM and already beats everyone in forge? Even with discipline you make it seem that everything is very easy, not to mention Muramasa and Masamune.

Reincarnated, descendants, successors. That's a dynamic that I hope will explode 100%, I hope the brigade isn't just smoke. 2. Kotomine, Shirou and Zenobia. Simply 'peak' 3. Is Shirou on the verge of madness? My boy is really becoming a selfish villain. For some reason I feel that it develops more with the cast of Fate, than with the DxDverso. Maybe I was already bored of them, but you leave it alone for a moment and its development is monumental. 4. I hope that, with Medusa as a security guard, we will no longer have people disturbing Fuyuki's Peace. 5. I don't like how Shirou demonizes Calibur. Good chapter, honestly in the last moments I was waiting for someone to appear, I don't know Gilgamesh, Arthur or even Vali. I thought this fight would take place later. Although I must tell you that it is unpleasant to leave the chapter there. Man, it's really unbearable. In other words, author, congratulations on setting a milestone. Among the great library that is DxD/Fate, there have always been many fics and few are those that left a mark on readers/future writers. Many elements are present in your story and that motivates me to maybe see a certain Red Dragon Emperor too wild for our protagonist. But, I don't want to talk about that. Among the new fics, a footprint of yours appeared, congratulations, you just introduced Kuro/Yoruichi as a member of Kyoto and maybe Lorelei
