Battlefield 1™ After Action Report

Hello, everyone.

First and foremost, I wanted to thank you for your patience regarding the long wait for this video. I hope it was to all of your satisfaction. I had a lot of fun making it, and I hope that translated well into the flow and feel of the video itself.

I found the new formula utilized for the video to gel very well with my typical style of editing. The way I edited the video was actually completely out of order. The first segment I worked on was the Mud and Blood segment. The compartmentalized manner in which I contained each chapter allowed me to keep up the steady fast pace of the video while keeping my ideas fresh in my mind. Although it was born from the segmented nature of the BF1 campaign, it worked very well in editing, and I might consider applying it to future videos. Not necessarily in the same manner, but with the same philosophy of editing.

The reception has been rather warm as well. The comments have given me a few good laughs as well. I'm still waiting on the influx of Verdun/Tannenberg/Isonzo fans coming in to explain to me why their broken glitchfests are more historically accurate and realistic games than Battlefield (they're not). But I'm very happy to see the history nerd community poking around as well, their conversations are always enlightening. I have to say though, of all the people I've ever been compared to, Internet Historian was not one of them. Looking back on some of the jokes in the intro and even the NordVPN integration, I can kind of see why lol. It wasn't intentional, but I think it was a chucklesome discovery.

In the near future, I'll be continuing to encourage viewership through social media, and I'll be experimenting with other forms of youtube features like remixes or youtube shorts (god help me) if I can. It'll be good to experiment with at the very least to know what I can and can't do for future projects.

I can't say what the next video will be, but I can say I have ideas aplenty for what it's gonna be and how I'm gonna do it. The reveal will be shown to the Board of Directors, where I will go into more detail about the project itself, the subject matter, and the techniques used as such.
