For the first time in 15 years, Sam Rami, the director of Spider Man trilogy is back for Marvel. And he doesn’t disappoint especially with adding horror qualities from the Evil Dead. Yes the writing’s a little disjointed but Rami’s incredible direction and visuals more than makes up for it alongside the phenomenal performances from the main casts!

The Doctor Strange we see in the opening of the film is Defender Strange confirmed by Sam Rami himself this Strange is from Earth-617. In the comic's Earth-617 diverged from Earth-616 (comic's) when the Gwen Stacy of Earth-65 encountered her mainstream counterpart resulting in the new timeline's Gwen avoiding being thrown off the George Washington Bridge. So the person you didn't seem to recognise in the yellow chair is Professor Charles Xavier the founder of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and The X-Men. This is the first connection to the X-Men in the MCU or at least the MCM (Marvel Cinematic Multiverse) on Earth-838. This Xavier rocks his Animated Series chair and suit while the 90s X-Men theme plays. I highly recommend checking out the X-Men Animated Series it's on Disney Plus and is up there with Batman: The Animated Series as one of the best superhero cartoons. Many people online believe this Professor X to be the one from the 1990s X-Men show which isn't the case. The X-Men 1990s show existed in a universe pretty similar to the mainline comic universe of Earth-616 it was just set in the 1990s where characters like Spider-Man got his powers in the 90s rather than the 1960s. It had many of the same story lines from the comic's but made changes to certain storylines to keep them fresh just like the MCU. You also seem to not realise who Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic was the character played by John Krasinski who fun fact was actually fan casted as Mister Fantastic but instead he got to play Earth-838 Strange. The Fantastic Four were Marvels first Superhero team but instead of you're classic Justice League lineup Stan Lee instead create a Family team with Reed Richard and Susan Storm being marries along with her brother Johnny Storm being her brother with Reed being his Brother in Law. Finally there's Ben Grimm who is a friend of Reed. It's unclear if he'll return to play Reed in Earth-616 or if they'll have a different actor. I just find it interesting that for whatever reason the Fantastic Four have not been introduced yet into the MCU wonder how Marvel will explain this besides of course Legal reasons with Fox owning them up until 2019 same with X-Men. I like the Theory that the Fantastic Four were active in the 1960s with Hank as Antman but somehow they disappeared maybe getting tracked in another dimension. Scott Lang could find them in the next Antman film connecting them together as Hank would know them. It's unknown if Mutants even exist in Earth-616 (Main MCU universe) as they've never been brought up so all we can do is wait until they're introduced. Many people believe that the MCU takes place in a post House of M timeline in which the Scarlet Witch removed all Mutants from existence creating a timeline in which they don't' exist which would explain why we don't see any Mutants in the MCU. This is a really cool theory but the House of M comics only removed the Mutant X-Gene the X-Men still existed along with former Mutant its just all Mutant lost there powers. The MCU could of course say that Wanda removed Mutants from history. In Days of Future Past we do see Charles in a smaller yellow hover chair existing in this new future where everything seems more advanced. Many have theorized that Earth-838 could be the future of the Days of Future Past timeline but again this is all theories but I can see Charles chair from Days of Future Past advancing into the the chair we see in this film. I noticed Earth-616 Strange was given the date 2021 on 838 Christine Palmer computer screen when she compared both Doctor Strange's hand damage. Maybe it's 2021 in Earth-838 while the Earth-616 is set in 2025. 838 Strange damaged his hands a few years before our Strange so it seems that some events happened at different times in this universe. It's also been confirmed that Age of Ultron never happened and that the Ultron project was successful which is why we see Ultron bots or at least newer models in Earth-838. Infinity War did happen but in Earth-838 Thanos never made it to Earth and instead was defeated on Titan meaning the snap did not happen in this universe which could explain why everyone looks so high tech and perfect at least in New York. This also explains why the Illuminati were so rusty as they pretty much hard far fewer difficult fights at least what we know off. They could've had a much harder past with Mutant existing but maybe this universe was a little too perfect and everything went right for our hero's until the Scarlet Witch showed up. Overall I enjoyed this film but I can understand the people who did not seems very mixed at the moment some love it and other hate. It just seems like they're building out the greater Multiverse in hopes of a massive crossover event like Secret Wars where everything comes together.
