Full Reaction to Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Hello everyone, hope you are all safe!

Here's my full reaction to Episode 8 of SW: The Last Jedi

Despite the controversy, there is one thing I adored about this movie: the animals, especially the chicken-birdies. Their attempt to make it a comedy was sometimes ok, but Star Wars is not a comedy. At least not how they tried to build it up in this movie. But I can't say I disliked that part.

I felt that everything about the Jedi has been thrown apart. I doubt that my Yoda would really burn a thousand generation heritage of Jedi books. And Rey knows nothing about the Jedi, yet she talks like she is part of it. It was not that simple to become one. I was amazed however that inside the Millennium Falcon, I've seen the same books. How?

And how did Luke Skywalker became so impulsive, up to the fact that he really tried to kill Ben? I have a theory, but it doesn't add up much either because mine is based upon the fact that Luke never received the proper training for becoming a Jedi (only a few weeks with Yoda). And I also want to believe this is what Yoda and Obi meant when Luke was going to leave Yoda's planet (I remember they said something much worse will occur, and for that reason they wanted Luke to stay, probably to become better and try to avoid it).

Besides that and some other details, my personal conclusion is that it would have been better to just name the trilogy different and name the characters differently. They would have obtained a better. I believe the "hate" relies on these aspects basically.

Let me know what you think!

Hope you enjoy and stay safe! ♥

Shortly after the movie came out, seemed like conversation was lukewarm at first, but there there seemed to be this surge of hate that seemed to build and build on itself. For a while it even displaced Twilight as the thing people would randomly inject into defferent discussions to express their dislike of. I began to wonder if maybe the internet was causing a kind of haterd feedback loop. For me this time around, I found myself actually enjoying it. I think the way I described Rise of Skywalker after seeing it a second time applies here, the parts I liked are still enjoyable, and the parts I'm iffy about I can live with. So what parts did I enjoy? I liked Poe trolling Hux in the beginning. I actually did like grumpy old man Luke and his lessons. Yoda and his wisdom are always welcome. And I liked Luke's confrontation with Kylo Ren at the end.

Texas Anla'Shok

There have been moments where Star Wars tries a little too hard to be funny. BB-8 with the circuits was one. Threepio losing his head in Episode II was another.

Texas Anla'Shok

Humor in such a film is nothing bad. But it is the kind that bothers many. It's the kind of humor that makes the characters look like idiots.
