Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 6x21 “Two to Go” FULL REACTION

Enjoy!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 6x21 “Two to Go” FULL REACTION

Comments

Was that in every country? I could swear I remember seeing the end with Giles and then having to wait a week (in the USA)

Richard Lucas

I still feel like Dru was supposed to be the big bad of season two, but I can’t really say more yet.

Richard Lucas

And then the Wolf skin floats up and nestles gently around her shoulders like a cloak. Very dark.

Richard Lucas

"My entire life! I've been waiting for this moment. I've been waiting for the... " (Boy, is this ever obscure. Does anyone recognize what this is from?)

UTU49

I've been waiting for this reaction my whole life! lol

Christine Ester

See, the episode title was supposed to be "I'd like to test that theory" but saved it for Giles' perfect entrance in the end where audiences like me would simply go "OMG it's--AHHHHHH!!!!" And then the credits roll with Anthony Steward Head's name right off the bat. 🤩 Probably one of THE best season finale of the series so far. I've never seen a more exciting episode (not since Tabula Rasa with all of them together, which is where we last saw Giles) than this. Buffy vs. Dark Willow is EPIC as usual and yeah, I would love to have seen this Willow back in season 5 battling with Glory. But what we got so far is simply brilliant.

I couldn't WAIT for your reaction to "I'd like to test that theory." The best entrance in the Buffyverse? All the verses? You did not disappoint!

Mary Kate

"Mum, Buffy, Tara, wah" - so very cruel, but I *love* that line delivery.

cs

that entrance!

Einar Sigurðsson

As much as people might not like the Trio, we could never have gotten to this place in the season without them. This season is my favourite, it always has been. I am really looking forward to the finale reaction!

Mel Saville

When a cinnamon bun becomes a f*ing strawberry.

That is literally spoiling a (great) line.

Don't think I understand, Willow's male partner is Oz. Are you talking about this episode?

Omg, I read your comment totally differently.....

SpikesEcho

Lol, you should have released this yesterday on my birthday! ;P Excited to see your reaction. -goes to watch-

Chaotic Cam

Either I have not watched a DVD reaction in a while, or I've just forgotten that the DVD version is different (separate writing and directing credits for the two episodes are in this episode). "Two to Go" and the finale aired back-to-back like the S6 two-part premiere, and opened with Nicholas Brendon saying, "This is what happened this year," followed by a two-minute S6 recap.

Rachael

YES! So glad Giles wasn't spoiled for you. What an epic entrance! Your reaction is basically mine every time, even though I know it's coming. I love that this whole season is a deconstruction of the concept of a Big Bad, which this show pretty much invented. The Trio are presented a lot like the Master, the Mayor, and Glory (the odd-numbered season villains) -- introduced early on, a consistent presence throughout -- but Warren, Jonathan and Andrew are really just pretending to be supervillains. They have no real agenda or event that they're working toward. And there's an argument to be made (and it's been made many times) that the characters themselves are the Big Bad, their own worst enemies. In fact, there are very few "monsters/conflicts of the week" that aren't either Trio-created (M'fashnik, the 'Life Serial' pranks, etc.) or something the main characters have brought on themselves (Sweet from OMWF, Willow's memory spell, Dawn's wish). But here at the end, we get what the show has done in the even-numbered seasons: a surprise villain. And like in season two -- where after a series of handoffs we land on the real villain, Angelus -- we have a much more personal villain who is difficult to fight not because they're stronger, but because they're someone we've grown to care about (and obviously the other characters have, as well). And in this case, this is a villain they've been building not just over the course of this season (though Willow's addiction to magic has certainly been more pronounced this season), but since at least the end of season 2. (And I've seen where either Joss or one of the other writers say they planned for Willow to go dark since the very beginning of the show, which is fascinating to me.) I felt so bad for Xander when he was telling Anya about how he froze when Warren showed up with the gun. Which made it all the more satisfying when he instinctively acted and got Dawn, Jonathan and Andrew out while Willow was distracted by battling Buffy. Well done.

I remember the internet(message boards) losing their shit with the Giles reveal. I think most posts started with "GIIIIILES!!!!" Liam- your reaction when even better than I expected!! And I agree, this season should have been less trio and more of anything else!

Val

I'm soooo happy the Giles reveal wasn't spoiled for you!

So happy the Giles revealed didn't get spoiled for you. I hope the rest doesn't either! Love your reactions.

Corey

Buckle up, Rupert 🌑 🌳

I've always found Anya's cavalier use of her powers in front of the normie guard to be a great way to give the sense of the raised stakes of this crisis. I may be one of the few, but I really felt this moment coming, this face off with Buffy, from "Tough Love" on and loved their fight. AND Willow... absolutely winning it. And I actually do think she'd have finished her if Giles hadn't stepped in. She 100% was going to turn Dawn back (for nothing more than the crime of daring to 'miss Tara'). I think they did the important work in this episode of making her *evil*, not just "angry".

Dan H

I disagree. Willow being possessed by some demon or something would be a cop out to the source of Willow's issues which is her self-hatred and would have taken away her agency. Also, it would be way too similar to Ben/Glory situation where a demon(god) was in the body of a human.

I considered going straight to the ending but decided to watch the whole thing first. Worth the wait!

Liam's Season 6 prediction: "Willow will continue to be a cinnamon roll" Willow murders a baby deer Me :| Willow spits out a snake Me :| Willow lies to her friends about the spell to raise the dead Me :| Willow threatens Giles to his face Me :| Willow brainwashes her girlfriend Me :| Willow brainwashes everyone Me :| Willow turns all the patrons of The Bronze into her unwilling playthings Me :| Willow brings Dawn to a trap house Me :| Willow flays a man alive, tries to run over Buffy and Xander with a truck, kills Rack and strings him up to the ceiling, threatens to kill Dawn... Ok, I think now it is no longer a spoiler to say that this prediction was incorrect this season.

The killing of Tara was already controversially received by lesbian viewers. Add onto that Willow's male partner showing up to make everything better and save her? Yeah that would send a really weird message. Great reaction though, especially the ending!

HuntingSwan

Gotta admit, I just came for the last 30 seconds. Your reaction was all of our reactions. ❤️Giles❤️

Aimee

Perhaps my favorite episode in the series. There is so much I love about it... Anya trying to save Andrew and Jonathan at the jail and then not leaving Buffy but keeping the spell active even if it puts herself at risk... Dawn taking charge and trying to help Willow... that transition scene with the spinning background... And of course, everything related to Willow. My favorite thing is definitely that "Willow is a loser" speech Willow gives to Buffy. It's so impactful and shows that this isn't just about magic, it's still about Tara and about how much Willow already hated herself. That's what years of bullying can do to a person's sense of self, I found that so relateable that my heart broke for Willow in that moment even more.

4Tom4lepus4

I do wish this arc could have been longer but it is still my favorite of the series! Your reaction was so perfect, definitely worth the wait. That ending is one of the BEST ones I have ever seen and you reacted just the way I imagined, even better. So hyped for the finale!

Jenn Rose

😂🤣 I'd like to see Oz trying talk Dark Willow down and Oz in mid sentence gets Wolf de skinned by Dark Willow without her flinching a second lol that will be good because it's dark.

Juan Sanchez

"Is it bad that I'd rather have a whole season of this than the Trio?" Nope. Not at all. At least as presented. I can make a good argument as to why the Trio was a good *idea*, but in execution? Nope. They could have been interesting, with the dilemma about what to do about a human enemy using supernatural powers--outside both Buffy's jurisdiction *and* the law's. But they just didn't work. If Willow had been taken over by demons partway through the season and been the big bad while they were trying to save her? That could have been really neat. She first opened the door to powers working through her (instead of her working powers) back in "Becoming" (that's the first time we see her go black-eyed), and she let in a hell of a lot of them bringing Buffy back. It could have been an excellent plot. Giles's entrance is one of the great moments of the series.

FernWithy

"I'd like to test that theory." - One of the best cliffhangers, possibly ever. I don't think Xander was quite making that conversation about himself, rather Anya and Xander were both at each other's throats. I mean, this evening is the first time they've interacted since Xander tried to kill Spike. I know, bigger picture, Willow's evil, but they were both alone together and it's natural that they would come back to talking about their failed relationship. But yeah, like you said, serious self-esteem issues has our Xander, so...

Thanks bro but you didn't have to on father's day. Saw your Instagram dad post. Ya exactly alike man. My dad past from cancer week before virus lock down in March. I'm not sad on today. I know he's in heaven. So you everyone do enjoy the wonderful moments with dads today.

Juan Sanchez

Willow's speech to Buffy at Rack's place I think really speaks to her depth of self hatred. That's one thing that I think makes Dark Willow work so well, the fact that it is still Willow. She's not possessed, she hasn't taken on some sort of alter personality, she is still Willow only she's become the distilled essence of all the dark parts of Willow's psyche and personality.

Claire Eyles

Fantastic reaction as always, just have to say it's great to hear you say my name a bunch, even if Rack is trash. 😂

Raq Miller

HAHA. I thought you wet yourself at the end!

KiwiJello

I'm so glad you enjoyed 😊 Fair play, the 3 episodes that close the season are just such an epic watch. Also kudos to Xander and Anya for stepping up and being a team again. Really like how Dawn has developed too - she gets alot of hate for some reason x

Kyle Jordan Ashley Brown

1.) We ALL would rather have had a full season of Dark Willow over the fucking Trio. 2.) That Giles entrance was pretty much the most exciting surprise moment of the season. I screamed when it originally aired. I have mixed feelings on the finale, but am excited to watch your reaction to it. I have a feeling we will not be in agreement on everything, just due to personal preferences, but we'll see.

Emme C.

Very excited to watch this one! ❤

Abby

The minute I got to work my daughter messaged me that you had posted Buffy 😭

CeNedra

Haven't even watched yet, but just had to say GILES!!!
