Say sah and then john but in a french way with a soft j. That's how you say Sahjhan. :D
It never occurred to me Gunn's opening sentence was the big theme for the episode. Yeesh, face palm, I'm an idiot. lol

True, and who else could have he sent. Sending Fred alone would be horrible thing to do. And sending Angel to recon would be pretty ridiculous, especially now when he wants to be with Connor.

Did anyone else just fall in love with Aubrey during her story? I wanted her to join Angel Investigations! Such a good actress. Then Whedon’s cold slap in the face.

Holy moly.....never picked up on Connor's "sky blanket" before you mentioned it!

I agree with you, and I think, honestly, people just kind of pin Gunn as being a dumb 'street' guy and it's unfair. People don't need to be identical in personality to be romantically involved, and Gunn is far better of a person than Angel's audience gives him credit for. He's incredibly loyal and affectionate, and I think there are a lot of women who'd take that over 'likes reading books too'.

I enjoy Fred and Gunn and feel they get a lot of unneeded hate. Shipping in the buffyverse can get nasty which is ridiculous since it is a fictional franchise. The argument that Fred and Wes should be together because "they are both booksmart and Wes really pined after her" so? Fred is a grown woman and can date whoever she wants, I don't think people watching the show 20 years after the fact are going to change that. Buffy's two main love interests were both demons one with a soul and one with a chip in his head. Oz left Willow because he cheated on her. Willow and Xander cheated on Oz and Cordy. Gunn and Fred legit just be chillin'. Also I love their chemistry. Gunn is for sure one of my favourite Angel characters so i'm considering my own bias here. I just don't see the chemistry between her and Wesley at all. Plus I feel like Wesley as a character isn't in a place to be in a relationship right now. The man has enough to deal with as is. lmao.

Mhm we don't really know what happens to people's souls when they turn into vampires, but I can see why a religious man like Holtz would believe his daughter is literally damned.

Yeah I'm hardly every completely in my body's POV in dreams, if that makes sense. If my physical presence is there, I'm usually seeing myself from the third person like a TV show.

Part of me always wondered why he wouldn't pick up the phone and call Giles. I'm sure he has a way of getting in touch, unless it's his pride or something getting in the way. Unless he'd assume Giles' response would be to just kill Angel.

Maybe it’s just me, but I love the talking burger. I thought it was hilarious seeing this ridiculous smiley mascot saying all these dark prophecies.

Maybe he was referring to his own blood that was dripping on the blanket? Yeah, that joke seemed very odd and unlike Angel ... writer's room got a little overzealous with their own wit here, I think.
2020-05-14 12:37:45 +0000 UTC
Same about the burger guy...it's funny for the first second when he arrives in front of it, but then they keep going with it and it's like really?? I can never focus on what it's saying bc I'm so distracted by it lol. It would probably fit better in a one-off ep with no heavy plot being dispensed. When Fred suggests Aubrey to Wesley, that's always like a knife in the heart, where I'm like "Fred, nooooo, shut up shut up." 🤦🤦 Angel's joke at the end I've always hated...I feel like Angel would NEVER make that kind of joke, under any circumstances....unless Wesley is imagining he's saying it? Or Angel's not referring to Connor as the "snack"? Maybe I just don't get it....

The painful thing here is, the one person Wesley would have been able to confide in here is Cordelia. He is currently estranged from Gunn and Fred, for obvious reasons, and as Liam pointed out, he is worried what a revelation like this would have on Angel's mental state. So the obvious confidante would have been Cordy, she has known both Wes and Angel the longest. Its been mentioned that Cordy is the heart of the group, removing the heart leaves the team cold and isolated from each other, Wes is so focused on the prophecy, Gunn and Fred are so focused on each other, and Angel is so focused on caring for Connor right now, the team is all so isolated with their own things at the moment instead of pulling together, and I just feel if Cordy were around, without the distraction of Groo, that things would be sooo different.

I've not actually watched AtS nearly as much as Buffy (maybe one complete watch through previous to this?), and I certainly felt very strongly the first time I watched it that Fred should be with Wesley (Wesley is one of my favourite Buffyverse characters). Watching it now though, I'm completely understanding why she would choose Gunn. Gunn has been there spending time with her, Wesley has been isolating himself and kind of worshipping her from afar (especially since the whole Billy thing). From Fred's perspective, I can see that Gunn would be a much more appealing prospect at this point, much as it pains me to say that. Gunn is being kind, supportive, caring and fun to be around, whereas Wesley is being kind of sulky and standoffish - not exactly attractive behaviour.

Aw, I love the giant burger.
I don't know that Wesley -- at least in this episode -- was purposely trying to get Fred away from Gunn (last episode yes, but Gunn is the most logical person to do recon, apart from Angel himself). But I can see why Gunn would go there, as he knows about Wesley's feelings for Fred.

Fred + Gunn is about the worst things on Buffyverse. I find them to be completely uncompatible, even though Amy Acker is amazing actress that should convince me to believe in anything. Same with Cordy and that boring dude from Pylea. Wesley and Fred would be obvious pairing and Wesley deserves some happiness goddamned. But at least the actor is married with Willow in real life, so that helps me get through this shite. Who ever though these were good arcs for all the characters should get their heads checked. Alexis Denisof is such an amazing actor, perhaps it's the script also, but since the season 2 of Angel, it feels like he is not acting at all. And the fact that he is so convincing as Englishman while completely American is pretty amazing as well, at least for who are not from England.

I actually really like the burger scene, haha. I think the burger as loa is supposed to be ridiculous, and I find it hilarious. One of the things I love the most about the Buffyverse is that they sprinkle ridiculous and surreal humour into the shows regularly. The juxtaposition of the ridiculousness of the burger with the seriousness of the words being spoken are why I love it so much :)
