I always liked this episode but it was the light at the end of a long tunnel. I watched the series when it originally aired. One week's airing was "I Was Made to Love You" followed by "Reprise". The next week started with "The Body". By the end of the that Buffy episode we NEEDED this episode to pull us out of the depths of despair. 2020-01-11 21:12:48 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite eps of the season. One of my favorite versions of Angel's character in either series. The solidifying of the show's philosophy in that scene with Kate, that life doesn't have inherent meaning and so we have to make our own meaning through our actions and choices. And I kinda love that right after Angel states this sort of atheistic/agnostic worldview, Kate complements it with her restored faith in a higher power. It's all very complex and beautiful.

And I took this line to mean that she was dead, so he could enter. So it mattered only that he was there for her and what he did to rescue her, not that the PTB intervened for a higher purpose. 🤔🧐🤯 It another line that I love and sticks with me.

Actually, no need to modify it with the Joss Whedon part. I just think that line is brilliant. That whole scene in the courtyard, with Angel and Kate, I just love everything about it, especially the philosophy Angel embraces.

I love this episode, both Buffy and Darla used the exact same "not good?" but i think Buffy said "was i" and Darla "was it" but I'm not 100%. Thank you Liam, great reaction as always but a little disappointed at the lack of 'Smelly Cat' and i think your voice is not so husky now 😏 See you in the next Buffy cycle ☺
