Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 4x20 "The Yoko Factor" FULL REACTION

Enjoy!

Comments

When Riley and Angel are fighting, Riley thinks Angel is evil. Angel said he's going to see Buffy. Riley fights him. He was protecting her, and defending his friends. Yes, there is a little bit of him going at Angel because he's Buffy's ex, but I think it works because he thinks Angel is an evil ex. Angel fights Riley to defend himself. To me, the fight made sense. Great reaction. I love this episode, and Spike is great.

Raven Dark

I like it too. It's a funny line and James' delivery is great as well.

I wonder if people will realize where I got my username if I comment here... :)

Miss Timi Fantastico

Miss Kitty Fantastico!!! “ What if the kitten kills Adam? What if it pulls a wire out or something? That would be incredible.” Both 😂 and Awww!! That would be the most adorable fight in the history of ever. 🙀🙀😻😻 Yup, they defo should have taken Miss Kitty Fantastico to the Initiative with them and joined her essence with Buffy in the spell- to make ... dun dun dun - Cat Woman!!!! Other quotable Liam comments this ep: “Come on - stop measuring dicks”. You are on 🔥🔥🔥 with the commenting this ep Liam! “I would not mind if Giles just stayed drunk for the rest of the series.” 🥃🥃🥃🍷🍷🍷🥃🥃 🤜🤛 Slap my hand now! (ow!) Thanks for another great reaction. [Btw - you can tell I’m on my phone 😹😹😹]

Some of the most evil people in the world are very polite. The most evil tend to be very charming.

Bellatronics

“Well.. you were afraid of that bear” 🐻🐻🐻 😂😂

Bellatronics

"You're like Tony Robbins. If he was a big, scary Frankenstein looking....You're exactly like Tony Robbins" That line cracks me up every freaking time I hear it.

Ryan Martinez

Loved this reaction, everyone else has said everything I enjoyed about it (insert drunk!Giles love here), but I just have to add that I flailed a bit seeing you wear an OxBox shirt!! 😊💚

Raq Miller

Forest getting killed, Angel thrashing Riley, Giles getting drunk, Spike messing with people's heads, what a great episode.

Steve Quast

This episode is okay for me, but does have a number of great highlights. I love how Spike's plan plays out, and of course drunk Giles. Seeing Angel was great, but its only worth to the show was as an epilogue of the Faith story this season. Riley is being, well, Riley.

Jarrod Wild

Drunk Giles - is there anything better lol? Reminded of him being drunk with Ethan Rayne as well haha. Hilarious. Great episode and reaction.

I thought you cheated on me "because I'm so in love with you I can't think straight" is from the same playbook of "look what you made do." Ugh no, Riley is awful. Unfortunately, Buffy has had bad experiences with every man in her life that I think her bar is set pretty low.

Rachael

i love this episode sm bc its one of the only cameos of my favorite character: drunk giles. also, your genuine maniacal laughter at forest being stabbed through the heart is quite concerning

I’m surprised you didn’t address the final scene in your recap. I love this episode, drunk Giles is the best, and Spike was great. I guessed he also picked up on Tara and Willow like Oz did, he smelled them all over each other.

Things I love about this episode: (1) drunk sassy Giles - we've seen drunk Giles before (The Dark Age, A New Man), but this is drunk sassy Giles, which makes all the difference; (2) smirking Angel leaving the room with Buffy while Riley postures to an audience of none; (3) byeeee, Forrest! And (4) Ms. Kitty Fantastico, of course. Incidentally, I didn't realize until a fairly recent rewatch how unusually tactful it was for Anya to leave when the "main" Scoobies were fighting; of course Tara would do so, but good on Anya for following suit. And man, I don't like Riley. I try not to actively hate on him most of the time, but his insecurity, lack of faith in Buffy, tendency to react with violence, and wretched "excuse" for his behavior (because he "loves her so much" - classic gaslighting horse-pucky) ... just no.

The fight scene at the end makes this episode for me. I honestly usually forget the whole thing with Angel and Riley because the Spike manipulations feel so much more grounded. Though Riley was the most out of line person in this episode, Buffy should have been more honest with him. I mean not even telling him the logistics of the curse, to the point that Riley implied to Xander that the curse was the bad part of the Angel saga? Like what? Riley gave Buffy ample opportunity to talk about what happened, and just like in This Year's Girl, Buffy kept him in the dark because there's "more important stuff going on." And it sucks that this happened so soon after Faith, you need good communication to get through that stuff and now that I think about it, Riley deserves answers at least when it comes to Faith. But the way Riley responded to all that makes it impossible for me to be on his side. Lashing out with violence and then not even apologizing.

I literally just spent hours cleaning my house, most of that time spent on vacuuming and sweeping floors, which are approximately my least favorite things to do (I'll clean bathrooms before I vacuum). As I was sitting down to relax, I heard that sound - you know the one, the one that sounds like someone plunging out a toilet. Sweet Fat Tabby Cat has just vomited on my carpet. Life with cat. Good lord, they're lucky they're so lovable. (I really do adore my cat; she's the best!)

Miss Kitty Fantastico! 🐱🐱❤️❤️❤️She is the CUTEST.

There is a wild rumor that Ms. Kitty Fantastico was dating Ser Pounce from GoT

Richard Lucas

I wish Angel had just killed Riley. I hate him

Nick Velasquez

Average episode that includes some of the best moments of the season: Ms Kitty Fantastico (despite the total disregard of the grammar rules for gender in the Spanish language in her name), Forest's death, Riley's ass kicked and, above all, drunk Giles. Definitely excited for your reaction to the next one...

Khanach

I’m going to guess that you are a fan of cats. I have three. They are assholes. I love them but I am pretty sure that they are plotting my death and plan on eating my corpse. Also, while Riley is not my favorite character I think people do not realize that he actually served a purpose.

Collector of Stuff

I agree with you about Riley’s insecurity but I do think it’s reasonable that he still wants to protect “his men.” Riley was in a leadership position, giving orders to these soldiers that fulfilled Walsh’s agenda. They trusted him the way he trusted his superiors. He may have even been involved in recruiting. Most of them probably know even less than he did and only the few who saw what happened when he broke out of the initiative probably got the full story. I can understand why he would feel responsible for the one’s who still believe they are fighting to protect people.

Karissa Edie

My favorite part of this episode is Riley thinking normal-Angel is Evil-Angel. Very close second: the big blowup at the end.

Thomas Hansen

I don't know if anybody else already mentioned this but, Anthony Stewart Head has actually a Album. It's called Music for Elevators and it's Anthony stewart Head and George Sara.

Frederick

Giles was amazing in this one. From his singing to his drunkenness... pure gold. Also Forest is dead so overall a decent episode

Donna

Yes. Yes. Yes. Straight. Up. Facts. 🙌👏👏

Ceara Abrahamsz

Ugh Riley in this episode, "Hello woman I love, allow me to automatically assume you think so little of our relationship that you would go to LA and immediately bang your ex, oh and also I won't actually apologise to you for the insult of such a presumption, that I've hurled with my raging insecurity, but rather play the 'I'm so in love with you' relationship guilt trip card". Riley deserved to get his arse kicked in this episode.

Claire Eyles

I've been known to watch this episode just to watch drunk Giles at the end 🤣

Best part of this episode? Angel beating up Riley. Im sorry! It’s just, personally I’ll happily take Forrest 10x over, then having to watch a scene with Riley in it. He...Riley just suuuucks,🤷🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️

Ceara Abrahamsz

This isn't really one of my favorite episodes of the season either but I do really like how the build-up of the Scoobies slowly naturally growing apart comes to fruition here. The energy felt so different between the group this season and it was nice to have that further acknowledged here
