I thought it was funny!

Liam, are going to change your name to "Angel" now? Cuz I think that's a good idea. ;)

I kind of want to call you "Mah-strrr Lee-um" now. Maybe it's only funny if you can hear me saying it out loud.

A great reaction to a great episode I love you catching Angel's Liam looking for approval from Darla.. That took me my second go around so 👏. Also your awesome Liam, you and yourself depricating but sweet soul my cinnamon roll.💜

Do you read it as being withheld love and emotionally abused all his life? I never thought his Dad was that bad tbh, Liam's behaviour was pretty bad, boozing and womanising and refusing to take any responsibility. I thought his father's anger and response to that behaviour was reasonable (given Liam was an adult and it's the 1750s). To me, the line about him not standing in the way shows him as being more sensitive than just some simplistic emotional abuser. I always thought Liam comes across as a really selfish and spoilt young man, his Dad just seems like he's someone at the end of his tether after constantly dealing with the behaviour whilst his adult son still lives at home being supported by him.

Man, seeing Liam transition into Angelus and finally getting a glimpse at the fibers that connect them is so gratifying. It's kind of amazing that this kind of basic backstory on Angel has been withheld for almost 4 entire seasons. Vampire lore is muddled, it seems too philosophical to be completely understood, but it makes sense that Angelus' extra desire to dominate and destroy (one upping Darla by wiping out the whole town) comes in part from Liam being withheld love and emotionally abused all his life. Sires are already kind of parental figures by nature, but the way Angelus looks back at Darla for approval is chilling and reinforces that fundamental need in him. I'm not gonna act like Buffy was also Angel's parental figure lol but he did have a neediness about him when it came to their relationship (re: Amends). Cordelia and Doyle and Wesley seem to be the first people that Angel sought a healthy connection with. Brings this interaction from Buffy s1e2 to mind: Buffy: "I've got a friend down there, or a potential friend. Do you know what it's like to have a friend?" Angel: Buffy: "That wasn't supposed to be a stumper." And now look at him!

Cordelia shares my birthday 05/22.

The 'Office Alarm' story gave Cordy and Wesley something to do but the ending was a nice parallel with the other story lines. Cordelia got the alarm working just before the demon crashed through the door but it was too late to let them know there were already two demons hiding inside; Liam's father was boarding up the windows but evil was already in the house; Angel was too late getting to Kate's dads place, evil was already there; and Kate was too late to do anything except hold her dead father. Now it's too late for either Kate or Angel to get any praise or recognition from their fathers.

Julie Benz is 10,000 better here and in Becomming than as Catholic school girl Darla!

Richard Lucas

I definitely prefer the Darla we've seen up till now in the Angel/Buffy flashbacks to the silly, schoolgirl Darla we see in Buffy season 1. Its brought her character to life!

I already knew his name was Liam

Aw, I was kinda hoping for a bigger reaction to the Liam name reveal.
