Enjoy!

This episode is underratedly amazing. Your reaction and analysis was spot on too.💜

I love the performance by the nun in this episode. It’s the little touches like that that raise Whedonverse shows above the rest.

Richard Lucas

Fucking Ronald.

How dare she get more Marshmallows!! That was honestly terrifying.

Thomas Stark

That's nuts. They gave him too many chances... he shouldn't be in and out of jail. he should be in an institution, involuntary style, forever.

I'm so glad to get some drama from Wesley, it worked for him even in Buffy more than the goofy stuff I think. His face when the demon tells Angel that Wesley plans to kill him breaks my heart, he's so afraid of being rejected again. Also Wesley accidentally revealing that his worldview is different because of his childhood is a much nicer way of introducing backstory than just exposition.

The scary thing about this episode is that there are actually kids like that in real life. A close friend of my family had two adopted sons, one of whom turned out to be a psychopath. The family did everything to try and help him, sent him to a litany of different specialists & treatments, but nothing helped. It was recommended they have the child placed into institutional care when his attacks on family members became violent enough to cause physical injury (mind you this was by the time he was 3 years old), he attacked his mother with a kitchen knife when he was 6 (when she was recovering from surgery for what turned out to be terminal cancer), the father later realised pretty quickly that they couldn't keep any pets after this kid bashed the family dog's skull in with a brick, and kept strangling or drowning any guinea pigs or other small animals they tried to keep, he started setting fires around the neighbourhood when he was about 10, and fast forward to age 16 the final straw for his family was when he waited until they were asleep, & then went outside and poured petrol around the perimeter of the home and set it on fire with his father and brother still inside - at that point the father kicked him out, and changed the locks. He's been in and out of jail most of his life since then, about the only thing he hasn't been charged with his murder. Seriously cold blooded and disturbed individual with zero conscience. Never met anyone like him before or since, don't really want to either.

I thought the actors who played the mother, the father, and the son were all very convincing. They all effectively sold the idea that they were in extreme circumstances.

There’s this really weird sequence of episodes right after “I Will Remember You”. First we get “Hero”, a super overwhelming and heartbreaking episode that kind of comes out of nowhere. Then “Parting Gifts” is all tonally inconsistent. “Somnambulist” feels like a season’s storyline condensed into one episode for some reason; and then there’s “Expecting” and “She”. Two ludicrous, bizarre episodes that tackle some pretty sensitive topics with the grace and finesse of an orangutan on speed. And then there’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”. An episode that should be forgettable filler, but manages to stay with you for being so dark and strangely poignant. I love how much there’s this whole feeling of dread and loss from the very first scene and the final twist gets to me every single time.

This episode is really dark but I love it. The whole possession story was very creepy (I've never gotten over "The Exercist"movie) but that twist at the end was so chilling yet unexpected. Sometimes people really are the worst. Great reaction! I'm glad you enjoyed it

I see you've cracked my code

Is "interesting" a polite way of saying "bad"? (regarding 1x12 and 1x13 being "interesting")

Yaaaay! This is one of my favorite episodes (though I have many, lol). I've been looking forward to this one since you announced you were watching Angel. 😅

“Flappable” Liam : 🤗. 😂

I really like this episode and when the demon says "what soul?" gave me chills when I saw it

It was amazing and heart breaking to hear Doyle's voice again. When I watched Hero years ago I was gutted Doyle died and had to look up to see if he came back which of course led to me finding out Glenn Quinn had died. I was devastated!
