In real life the upper management spreads rumors and gossips over stuff like this constantly before anyone is supposed to know. It happens literally everywhere. Davids issue is that he's a side character in a comedy show that's never meant to be taken this seriously, let alone held to a higher standard than we hold any American work place.

David Wallace has officially overtaken Kevin Malone on the hate list

David should have learned by now. 100 percent agree that he has no excuse for disclosing sensitive information to Michael. I'm more disappointed in Holly for going along with the skit. As a person who works for HR she should have known that the skit was inappropriate regardless if the branch knew they were closing or not.

also idk what made david blame michael for this fiasco like he told michael. if i was michael i'd think "there's no way this man is telling me this huge news about buffalo without telling buffalo themselves first" so i can see how he'd assume they already knew. it was in poor taste yeah but david blaming him to that extent was skeevy. also david and charles teaming up to be skeevy to the dunder mifflin team was not pleasant to see. david isn't right for that.

the sheer joy on jim's face is everything. and even though it wasn't to call dwight to tell him anything about it, i still love the fact that the first person he called, even if it was just to send in the subs, was dwight. also yay michael growth!! he handled it so much more maturely than he ever would have in the past!

Good on you. That would make you significantly more thorough than David.

If I was trying to reinvigorate a dying company and dealing with a man child racking up lawsuits I would be on my knees begging him to behave normally before I am forced to lay people off. The last time Michael was near this branch he literally insulted the entire staff.

That's a silly reason. At the end of the day, there's literally no reason for David to tell Michael AND on top of that, not tell him to not say anything. If he doesn't know Michael is an idiot... I suppose it's not the most egregious thing in the world. But he does know Michael. So David is a dolt.

Jimmy Macram

David told Michael so that he doesn't try any antagonistic bullshit right before the other branch is let go to worsen an already difficult situation for him. He expected Michael to have at least the bare minimum of sympathy and tact towards another office in the company. Throughout this entire show if David steps away the Dunder Mifflin office they need to be micromanaged and if it gets micromanaged then "corporate is interfering", it's absurd for any company exec to deal with constantly.

John Wayne

Bare minimum of professionalism is not to tell a different branch's manager about a closing that hasn't been announced yet. Bare minimum of professionalism is to know your staff. Michael's been an idiot (to your face) for fucking forever. ...Bare minimum... David's a fucking dolt. At least Michael has an excuse... he's a fucking idiot. What's David's excuse?

Jimmy Macram

David Wallace is a real person in a world of maniacs. He expects Michael not to tell the other branch about being laid off because it's the bare minimum of professionalism and tact.
