Dr. Horrible is a masterpiece. Neil Patrick Harris is a riot, and the musical numbers are a blast

I like Spith, cause it's spicy :D

The "branding" on the escapee potential was done with his ring that was heated up using a traditional car cigarette lighter. You should notice it in rewatch. This is the first clue that Caleb was superhuman (or human with a really high pain tolerance at least).

I don't much care for this episode, but I do really love the scene where Faith first goes to the house and Dawn is openly hostile towards her, because it's a nice subtle nod to the monk-made memories and the extent of their spell on the world, since Faith's entire arc prior to this occurred before Dawn was shown on screen, and this is the first episode they both appear in.

Gloves on….depending on what side ur on. πŸ₯Š πŸ₯ŠπŸ€”

This episode is sadly a test run. I wish Buffy was more able to save everyone but in this case she needed to take the risk and see how everyone does.

SuccessionLover

They did not say what is special about Caleb yet btw.

Captain Hammer

Now that you've seen Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day in a Joss Whedon show you should react to Dr Horribles Sing Along Blog after Buffy to get a 2nd dose.

Captain Hammer

okay so. sometimes it slips my mind the first is non-corporeal even though i know it is if i think about it. second - if i said fred and faith, it was just a wrong name slip.

Vulcanologist is actually a correct term for the same profession. Vulcan being the god of volcanoes and such. I always assumed Star Trek used the name for the race and the planet because the planet is very populated with volcanoes and deserts.

Captain Hammer

Xander did wear an eyepatch for his Halloween costume in S6. Although for his pirate costume, his other eye was covered compared to the end of this episode.

James Smith

Caleb gets explained in the next few episodes. Don't look up anything online.

Dave Cruickshank

This is a really good episode.. But im not gonna lie... I'm honestly just ready to argue with some folks about the next episode.... #MagnetoWasRight 🀣

Xander killing it with the speeches this season! First his one to Dawn and now this one.

Episode 18: the one where Faith finally comes back and sh*t gets real. My two favorite scenes are Faith and Spike's conversation in the basement and Xander's speech about Buffy. The whole episode really shines, though (metaphorically speaking, as it's quite dark). We have a new villain, Caleb, seemingly out of nowhere, but obviously working closely with The First and certainly a very real threat. Possibly more so than the uber vamps. We are down to the final four episodes, so while the gloominess and danger we're in now are uncomfortable, they're both necessary to raise the stakes (so to speak). Even with all this in mind and everything that's happening, we can't forget the most import piece of information we learned at the start of this episode. Spike is absolutely NOTHING like Angel (who is dull as a table lamp) and they both have VERY different coloring!

Also, is it Faike or Spaith? Either way, yespls.

Lmao, so Andrew fighting that mysterious person you saw was him fighting Spock from Star Trek. The joke being that Spock is a Vulcan, and so vulcanologist sounds similar to volcanologist, which was the profession of that guy Faith killed previously in season 3. Andrew, being a Star Trek geek, got confused (and/or carried away) when recounting her life.

I’ve always thought of these final 5 episodes as a β€œ5-Part Series Finale,” as they have a somewhat consistent through-line of characters and themes. When they originally aired, I believe there was a brief hiatus between the previous episode and β€œDirty Girls,” and the network even promoted this last run as the β€œfinal five episodes.” So buckle up, we’re on the last ride!

Why would you think the First driving a car HOW would it do that and second you watched Angel you saw Willow and Faith leaving together why would you think Fred and Faith? This is a question for you only

Michael Matthews

Villain Fillion is incredibly underrated and he so thoroughly nailed it that I wish he had taken more bad guy roles in his career.

Tim Goens

I love this episode, although I wish that Caleb had at least been more alluded to before his appearance. Still, I don't think we've had a villain be so impactful in their first appearance. Great reaction, going from being pumped up to take the fight to the First to growing increasingly wary, I think that's the exact reaction the writers were going for which speaks to the writing for this episode... aside from the extended Xander dream sequence, which is a bit weird. Also, no Anya this episode.

We're in the end game now.

I still remember watching this when it aired as a kid, Xander really shined, and the fear for the audience as Caleb grabs him still gives me goosebumps all these years later as an adult.

MaggieStormborn

RIP Molly, she was such a sweet girl :(

Fun Fact: original the character of Xander was supposed to be killed off in this episode, but Joss Whedon decided to change that to him being seriously injured instead, but it still sent the message to the audience that this was the final season, and that all bets are off, no one is safe anymore, even the main Scoobies could potentially meet their end.

Keenan White

The Season 3 episode you're referring to was called "Bad Girls" :)

Here we go…….
