The main characters weren't transported to a different reality cuz time cannot be easily altered/rewritten, nobody has that power. It has to be just another seperate reality from their's like the one created in buffy by vengence demon anya where willow was a vampire and the master killed buffy, only other thing It could be is an illusion meant to help Cordelia decide which path to take, or trial if you will, her proving herself and becoming strong enough to continue fighting alongside Angel and crew with visions from TPTB. Only thing is then how was the other vision solved.... TPTB?

Angelus killed Holtz's baby boy as well.

"What's the hubbub, bubs?" Lorne ensuring that Glory's memory lives on through her vernacular.

Does that mean Doyle had feelings for Angel too? :p

One of my fave episodes of all time, I love Cordelia's character sm.

I love the opening credits of "Cordy!", a great parody of so many cheery sitcom openings of the time. They even filmed a scene from the sitcom itself but cut it. Someone put it up on Youtube, but the last time I went to watch it it was gone, so I guess it was taken down. Too bad, it was wonderfully cheesy.

The actress who played the teenage girl, Aimee Garcia, went on to star in Lucifer (a great show, btw).

So if Doyle was able to pass the visions to Cordelia because he had feelings for her, and they were able to pass between her and alternate reality Angel...

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Oh, new thought: You wondered just why Skip (and presumably the PTB above him) were SO insistent on saving Cordelia's life. I think it's because the PTB really do care about every individual person, and they don't want to see one die due to a mistake they made. Most of the visions that they send to Cordelia aren't connected to the larger plots by overarching villains. Some are, sure. But most visions are just about individual people who are about to die due to random vampire attacks, demon summonings, or whatever. The PTB don't just send Angel to fight Wolfram and Hart, they try to save random people walking down the street. Doyle pointed out in the first episode that looking at redemption as a numbers game doesn't work. That way lies depression and apathy. Only by actually CARING about people, and connecting with them on an intimate level, can you actually do good. Since the PTB are the ones who sent Doyle in the first place, presumably they believe the same thing.

Cass I was JUST about to get off the internet and do something else when this popped up. You're ruining my plans today! This is an episode that we all thought you'd love, since you spent so much time talking about Cordelia's vision-pain before and wondering if that was going to lead anywhere. It's actually been one of the un-commented-on-but-recurring-points in both "Buffy" and "Angel" that the Powers That Be work through half-demons a lot. Whistler, the half-demon who sent Angel to Sunnydale in the first place. Doyle, who guided Angel at the start of the show. The Groosalugg, even though he technically worked for the Wolf, Ram, and Hart, was supposed to take Cordelia's visions after they had sex because his demon heritage would allow him to survive the visions while he knew they were harming her as a human. We don't know why. Maybe it literally is just that humans are too frail to be reliable. But it definitely Means Something. So far you don't have enough information to figure out what The Powers That Be actually ARE. That's not even the name they call themselves, that's what we call them. It's like saying Fate or Destiny. Big-concept words that we understand and apply to the world around us, but we don't really UNDERSTAND Fate or Destiny. We just trust that there is SOME kind of plan going on. "The Conduit" in this episode, like the Oracles in season one (So proud you remembered them BTW), is just a CONNECTION to the PTB. Relaying info from us to them and them to us. Bear in mind that Lorne is also a connection to the PTB, but his connection is just less-direct. The PTB aren't behind EVERY prophecy, but presumably they're behind some of them. There are other beings working at higher levels as well who we know are working against the PTB, or neutral, or may be aligned with them but have their own plans. All we can do is try to figure out what messages are from who.

A fun reaction! The birthday cake Buffyverse lore comes full circle, this started with Cordelia jumping up in front of Buffy's birthday cake in Buffy S2 and now Cordelia gets her own birthday cake. Skip is the guard from Billy's cell earlier this season. Also the Kungai, that Wesley said took his arm, is one of the demons that Angel and Wesley fought during Angel S1E10
