Angel: 2x20 Full Reaction

Angel: 2x20 Full Reaction

Believe it or not, this episode is actually where I STARTED watching this series. I hadn't watched "Buffy" or the earlier seasons of this show when they were first airing, because I had some preconception that they were humorless and would be uninteresting. I don't know why I thought that, but I did. It was when I saw the commercial for this episode -- and specifically Angel's gleeful line "Can everybody see how much fire I'm not on?" -- that I first thought I had it wrong and decided to give it a chance. I figured it they were joking here, maybe they had more fun with it elsewhere as well. I like the introduction of the lawyers doing a building assessment for the return for what Wolfram & Hart actually DOES: They're a LAWFIRM. The first season showed them actually taking on clients and doing legal work. Always eeeeeeevil legal work, but still actual legal work. With all of the magic and demonology as a side gig. When Lilah, Lindsey, and Lee Mercer hired Faith to kill Angel and it backfired, one of them actually pointed out that they're lawyers and should have been acting like lawyers all along (So they passed info to the police about Angel harboring a fugitive). I like seeing them actually show up to put their law degrees to use.

I love this arc and your reaction to the ending was amazing haha! So many parallels between this episode and Belonging, like Angel bathing in the sun in Cordy's video commercial and then bathing in the sunlight in Pylea. Cordy snapping at the gang when she had a vision "Why does everyone keep asking me that? Do I look okay?" and then in this episode, her telling the village folk "Isn't anyone gonna ask if I'm okay?"

Fun fact: Persia White who played Lorne's psychic friend in this episode also played Cordelia's friend Aura (the one who found the dead body in her locker) in Buffy's first episode Welcome to the Hellmouth. This episode is such good fun! I'm going to assume Pylea is the origin world for the hellhounds we saw in Buffy's Prom episode. ๐Ÿ˜‚

One day in Pylea and they make Cordy their queen? Yeah, sounds about right. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I couldn't exist without music! I always believed that everyone in the world must love some type of music. Now, when I hear someone say " I don't like music" or "I'm not interested in music" I'm convinced there must be something wrong with them.

DanielOrme

The non-existence of music is not a first world problem. I would DIE. I'm convinced that music is an essential human NEED. <3 Lorne is one of my favorite characters, I very much enjoy this whole storyline! And LOL your Back to the Future reference was ON POINT <3 Wesley has become such a bad-ass <3 I love him so much more on this show than I ever did on Buffy :P And that reveal at the end! I was dying to see your reaction, and it did not disappoint! <3

I really like the parallel between this episode and the last with Angel looking up at the light (the studio lights last episode, the light of the two suns this episode) Cordy and Lorne's psychic-ness is different; also I dont think anyone in Pylea would know that Lorne is psychic since Lorne can read someone's future when he hears them sing and Lorne said that there is no music or song in Pylea.
