2024 August Movie Recap

2024 August Movie Recap

Re-visited a movie and have something to say about it? I'd say say it. I don't see why a re-watch would be less interesting to talk about than a first watch. From the audience's point of view, in both cases you are talking about a movie that you already know.

But I would agree with Carly that I Know What You Did Last Summer and Simply Irresistible are the top 2 you should check out next if you haven't seen! I Know What You Did Last Summer would make a GREAT reaction.

Melissa Reynolds

Some more SMG movies: 2 fun horrors/thrillers she's in are Possession and The Return. Suburban Girl is a great comfort romcom with her and Alec Baldwin. Veronika Decides to Die is a dark drama and one of her best performances. The Air I Breathe is a fantastic but little-known drama she did with Brendan Fraser (I think this one might be pretty hard to get hold of - at least it was for me in the UK like 15 years ago lol).

YES YES YES!

Here are some of my favorite SMG movies that I think you might not have seen yet which are: i Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Simply irresistible (1999)

I watched Serial Mom and Abigail last month as well. 'Serial Mom' was great 'Abigail' was one of those films where the trailers gave too much away what will happen in the film but I wouldn't have watched the film if not for the trailer revealing the interesting premise

James Smith

Seen "Serial Mom" and "The Grudge 2" and I recall the phrase "...Gas... Chamber..." from the female punk band in "Serial Mom" as well as the interesting outfits on the band. My curiosity has been peaked for "Wicked" and "Abigail". I was reluctant for "Abigail" due to some disappointment I had with "Last Voyage of the Demeter". Maybe my growth during the heyday of horror and comedy has given me a "get off my lawn" attitude to entertainment. My comfort movies tend toward more the late 70s early 80s like "The Howling" (the good one not the rest of them), "Dark Night of the Scarecrow", "Salem's Lot", and recently I watched "Gray Lady Down" with a younger David Carradine.

Love Serial mom !!! Pleeeeaase add Vampire's kiss to your watchlist !!! It's American Psycho but better and with a stellar Nic Cage performance !!!
