In 2017, a former acquaintance came forward with SA/coercion allegations against her which Melanie strongly denies. There's a lot of confusion around what has been said by both parties so it's hard to get into however during this exile period, Melanie released the song Piggyback on her Soundcloud which apparently is in regards to the allegations but has not been confirmed directly. Within the last few days, the allegations have resurfaced online following a few controversies with the mixed reception of Melanie's recent era Portals alongside some questionable business ethics involving merch and lack of fan engagement in recent times.

There was a video at the time where some fans overwhelmed Melanie in public and started filming/taking photos of her without her consent. If I recall too, there was also an incident in which a fan or someone broke into Melanie's dressing room and stole some sentimental objects. she posted a picture of herself on social media in tears following the incident.

2024-07-22 09:34:19 +0000 UTCAhahaha idk which is “correct” but I honestly always thought the “Kelly had a fat ass” line was meant in the ‘thicc’/compliment sort of way, where Crybaby was jealous of Kelly’s looks. Especially since she does follow it up with a line about the boys looking, and then outright saying she got jealous of Kelly and Brandon kissing on the playground 😅 I might be wrong tho

2024-07-22 06:19:32 +0000 UTCMelanie wrote the script for a 3 hr movie but since she got her funds for the K-12 movie constantly trimmed there are many stories that didn’t get a closure in the movie and you’ll also notice some abrupt switches between scenes/MVs, but overall it adds a lot to the story of the album, I hope you like it :)

I'm not the biggest fan of melanie but this album hits quite close to home for me bc of orange juice and teacher's pet as I have both been bulimic and groomed in my past, pretty happy and healthy now though thankfully! I'm usually not commenting much but just wanna say I love your vibe and the music reactions you do! excited to continue discovering music with you <33
