Angel: 2x5 Full Reaction

Angel: 2x5 Full Reaction

Darla was trying to put the whammy on Lindsey, and he seemed ready for it. Some people think he has sex appeal, despite him coming off as being kind of a hick lawyer type, but he is really more of the American Psycho type underneath. As soon as Angel took his hand, he gave up probably all the humanity he was barely holding on too. And he really was not ready, but now I think he is. He has embraced evil and all its benefits, and you know that means any sexual desires he might come up with in that twisted mind of his. Strangely, he does not seem to be into Lilah at all, but Darla tickles his pickle in that naughty, scary way only a vampire can bring out in men like that, that want the dark side. How about the allusion to Wesely having sex with a bleached blond? That apparently is true, even if it was a throwaway line for comedy. In reality Alexis Denisof and Alyson Hannigan were full on -- they were married in 2003 and are still going strong with a couple of children and steady careers. The psychic host demon was not happy about Angel demanding answers -- what did he see that he wouldn't tell Angel about? He was like get outta here with all that. Bad vibes. I think Darla doesn't like being alive, she misses the "freedom" of having vampire morally bankrupt action. She did not blink when they killed the actor in front of her, and that is some cold calculating psycho stuff. She only wants Angel, I think, Wolfram & Hart she has no feeling for, just a means to an end. She does not seem to fear them at all -- if she goes against W&H, what will happen then?

Angel is caculated has great perception, empathy and understanding, that's why he's such a sadistic vampire without a soul, because there's more thought and feeling behind his actions than there is for most. That kind of capacity can be used for the greater good or the greater bad depending whether or not he cares or not.

Face blindness lol that's great. I wish I could help. I've never had that problem, I'm usually great with facial recognition.

Morgan Williams

It's official you have terrible facial recognition. When you thought the street walker looked like Dru and then Dru herself didn't πŸ˜†. So funny

Cass, your face blindness is reaching Next Levels here. Yes, it was Darla at all points in this episode, and that was Drusilla in all the flashbacks, too. We all love Gunn's Hubcap Axe, it's a great little unique weapon for him and a fantastic character bit. It's different than the generic "Sword (long), axe (handheld), stake (wood)" weapons the main three often carry. The aliens were just the excuse that Claire told her husband to cover her absences. She was telling her affair partner about it because he said it was too suspicious for them to meet in the middle of the day, and so Claire told him that no matter what time it was she could just say the aliens got her and her husband wouldn't question where she was. Darla (and the Master) wanted to bring Angel back to the dark side in the first season of "Buffy" before Angel staked her. The mysterious hallucinations that haunted Angel in season three of "Buffy" wanted the same thing, and settled on having him kill himself to get him out of the way when he refused to kill Buffy. We're still getting details about WHY, but a lot of evil things really don't want him fighting on the side of Good.

She was being sarcastic about the aliens, mocking her husband.

Great episode and reaction. Already loving Darla way more than when she was a campy sidekick to the master on Buffy Season 1.

Face blindness strikes again πŸ˜‚. I love this episode. I always end up forgetting that Angel sings again in this episode because so much happens! Darla kissing Angel and then burning his chest with a cross is a pretty clear parallel to Buffy kissing Angel in season 1 and then burning him with her cross necklace.

In the scene when Darla was admiring Lindsey's prosthetic hand, Lindsey was preparing a manila envelope. The next scene Kate is given a manila envelope with Angel's new address inside. I think the implication is supposed to be that Lindsey has a cop on the take who he can feed info to. Or whom he can tell to be in a certain area so the cops show up almost immediately after Darla makes the 911 call. This is a fun episode. Love a good flashback story.

Angel wasn't gonna bite Darla bc it would be a wrong thing to do, not for some physical or mystical reason...!?

we know from Buffy 2x21 that Drusilla was a seer, she met Angelus in a confessional where she was confessing that she had a vision of an accident in a mine before it happened and that her mom told her that was an affront to God, which made Dru super distraught bc she was very pious, and that's when Angelus became obsessed with her, wanting to torture her and sully this pious, gifted creature
