Did season 1 get taken down I cannot find it

Desmond Goodworth

I just love that they just empty a street in the middle of LA to have a jousting match

Nathan Conarroe

This season is really a lot of fun!

Morgan Williams

YEEEEES!! The introduction of my 2nd favorite character in Angel! I love Lorne!

Aaron Price

For what it is worth I thought this is what you meant and not that you thought she was dead. Well, she is dead but vampire dead. You know what I mean. : )

Dave Hampton

Woohoo! I'm so glad we're on season 2. I've never really liked season 1, but 2? Let's go!

Leah W.

'Mandy' is such a Buffy/Angel song. Go read the lyrics and you'll know I'm right. So much good stuff in this episode (our introduction to The Host, the closing visit with Faith). But my favorite moment is the quietest: Angel lighting the candle at Kamal's (it's important that we know his name) small Buddhist shrine. Part of it is guilt, but it's a tribute, too. "He was a soldier, like me." When the mother berates him with all their talk about "missions and medieval codes of honor" you know Angel feels that kinship and what was lost.

Angel visiting Faith is nice both as an appearance of the character when the 'they are in prison' in TV shows usually means that character is never seen again. Also as a reminder that Angel's mission to save souls isn't exclusively monster fighting.

James Smith

This is such a great opening and a really good episode. You have the karaoke bar, Gunn joining the cast, a hint of Darla, and then the best part with a quick glimpse and visit with Faith. It's so wonderful to see their friendship sustained. I was worried you might not want to keep watching Angel, but I'm so glad that you are. It's a really good show. Oh, and Angel singing is as cringey good as his dancing back in season 1 lol.

Melissa

GUYSSS hahaha I know that Drusilla is still alive - that's not what I was saying; I meant that Darla reminded me a lot in temperament of Drusilla & what if *before we were even introduced to Drusilla* she was killed as a vampire and brought back by this same ritual and that's why she also has that 'out of it' attitude. Just a stupid theory, I'm sure it's not a thing lol

Cassie

This is one of those episodes where I've never been invested in the main plot regarding the tribunal, but I love everything else about it. I like that we get to see Wolfram and Hart and Darla again. I love the karaoke bar. I love the host of the karaoke bar. I love that Gunn is now part of the main cast. I love the cringe factor of Angel singing. I love just the overall comradery of Angel, Cordy, and Wes working together, now that they've been a team for quite some time. And of course I love very much seeing Faith at the end. That was a nice touch. Oh yes, and Drusilla is still alive, although it's been a while since we've seen her. I don't think we've even seen any flashbacks of her since Buffy season 2, unless I'm forgetting something.

Steve Quast

I still remember seeing him appear when I watched this for the first time. And thinking, hmmm....this is going to be interesting.

Steve Quast

Why did you kill Drusilla like that, rude 😅

madfem

Last we saw of Dru in Season 2 was Spike carrying her out and driving off, away from the fight at the mansion. Dru carrying Spike was earlier in the Season when her strength was restored at the same time that Spike was hurt

Righteous Bob

So much great stuff in this episode. Angel singing Mandy is iconic 😂. It's one of my favourite scenes of the entire series! I love the scene between Faith and Angel at the end. It's a light hearted conversation that ends on a rather sombre note when Faith tentatively asks, 'The road to redemption is a rocky path. You think we'll make it?'. Angel honestly replies, 'We might'. Also, as to how Wesley found Merl and Caritas (the karaoke bar). I think it's just the show demonstrating how resourceful Wesley is in his book and field research.

Rebecca

Cass I think you may have misremembered what happened to Drusilla in Buffy season 2: She carries Spike out of the final scene after being restored to strength. Edit: oops I forgot that happened earlier (thanks Righteous Bob). Spike knocks her out at in the finale and escapes with her. We have not seen her since. Maybe she dies off-screen and will be resurrected by Wolfram&Hart. For all we know Drusilla is out there somewhere living her freaky unlife. Spike misses her and has mentioned her a handful of times.

The Testimony of Mushroom

"Sing, my Angel!" The double entendre title "Judgement" was all through this episode. First they show poor judgement by messing up, then their client shows poor judgement in not trusting angel, Merl shows poor judgement by trying to play angel off for a sucker, then there was the "gun" joke, and several more mistakes that almost led to disaster, until they pulled it out in the end, and realized that they have to live with not being so cocksure about everything. Finally Angel shows some real judgement by trusting the process that has been tried and true, and checking in on Faith to see things are not going south there. The Harshness of the Tribunal, the life and death stakes, all of that, is kind of a bigger battle. The dark powers are sending warriors to take out the good guys, just to make things less fair, less hopeful, more likely to end in apocalypse and the bad. Angel is a soldier doing battle for the light, willing to take a sword to the gut (a double-edged sword) if that is what it takes. "You gonna stay here and soak up the guilt?" -- what a line, so sarcastic, yet so deep. Lot of deepness underneath the snappy dialog in this one -- a lot of old time Film Noir references, and and obscure reference to "The Enemy Below" and Kurt Jergens, who played a WWII German submarine captain that turns against the Nazis to save his crew.

I hate the main story of this ep but there's still good stuff of course (it's a Buffyverse episode after all)

If you do go to karaoke, and you drink at all, by drink 2 you should be fine to enjoy everyone in the spirit as intended. 🥂 So much fun! 🥰

Jessamyn Howe

a green demon appearing on screen and immediately singing is one of the best opening scenes for a show ever.

Raymond Simon

Cringe can be fun. Seeing (and hearing) Angel sing was cringy fun. Great to see Angel still supporting Faith.
