This is definitely less of a finale and more of an epilouge, and I kinda love that.

Buffy had the same dream at some point, hence why she says she and Faith 'just made that bed' in this episode. The dialogue in that dream is very interesting and worth re-visiting after season 5. 2. The First Slayer only used Tara's image in Buffy's dream. The Tara was see in Willow's dream was a part of Willow's psyche. 3. It's not that the First Slayer is jealous of Buffy for having friends. It's that the Slayer, from everything we've seen in the show so far, is a sacred duty supposed to be carried out in secrecy and solitude. That's all she, the First Slayer, ever knew (Giles: "After all, you never had a Watcher..."). The First Slayer was trying to protect the Slayer role from what she perceived to be Buffy's frivolous intrusion upon its purpose and sanctity with her friendships and relationships. 4. It might help to think of this episode as a coda to the early years of Buffy, and a prelude that sets up the character arcs and themes of the final three seasons of the show. Re-watch it again after you finish the show and you'll understand what I mean.
