Gasp! Dragon Ball Dissection December!

Starting off this year continues our look at San Xing Long and Si Xing Long, which launches us into a look at the characters of the Evil Dragons. They're a lot of character types we've seen before, but why do those earlier examples work while these fall short?

Great video as always! Haha I had to do a double take when you mentioned βStevenβ; almost my name! π I may be misremembering but the evil dragons do seem to refer to the wish as having given them birth. While I never thought about it until this video, perhaps they did exist in some form from when those wishes were made, and maybe learned about the world from that time onwards. And just now I imagined, what if they could take a peek out at the world whenever Shenron was summoned, as though they were awoken as well for a few minutes at a time. Itβs a stretch but not impossible! Interesting to think about it; and your videos always, always are very thought provoking and entertaining. Happy DBD December!!

I get the idea that these concepts aren't fleshed out nearly as much as they could be. I think that I will give the writers 1 to 2% more credit than you do but I'll admit they are lacking. I do think the Shadow Dragons are just as developed as Shen Long himself. I mean think about it: How does Shen Long know all the individuals who died in a specific place in order to revive them? He seems to know just about everything at least within certain limits, what does he do when he isn't summoned? I guess we kind of have to assume that he has some weird consciousness or place when he's not granting wishes. So given that they were born in all cases YEARS before they were here I don't think that it's "Writing a story" to deduce that there is some type of existence long before any of them emerged in this arc. Don't misunderstand, it still explains nothing about HONOR or what type of experiences each of them had, but given that the 5 star Dragon knew about the 2 star Dragon and many others reference different dragons I think it is pretty safe to assume that there is a non-corporeal existence before this, similar to what Shen Long has (But which is never explored in the series itself, at least not yet). Like I said I'm not disagreeing with your over all premise since as you said "not Killing women and children" is rather selective but also pretty stupid since they are eventually going to destroy the planet.
