||July 2023|| Bimonthly Vote #6 Results

The winner for this month's poll is:
Battle_Modern_Exteriors_Crime_Scenes
(name may change).
It beat out Modern_Exteriors_X_Construction_Site by 4 votes.

The reason for this post is so that we give you all a chance to voice your ideas in the comments for what you'd like seen in this pack. While the vote name was exteriors crime scenes can really be anywhere, so I may make another agnostic category.

So if you've got anything particular you'd like to see, by all means feel free to mention it below in the comments or on Discord.

Oh boi, future Pu is up for some serious naming madness. Considering that many of the old pack have improper names to begin with... We'll see what I come up with.

PeaPu

Yes, that's exactly what I would want. Your existing assets but broken. Some chairs upright, one knocked over. Two lamps in the room, one upright, the other knocked over. That would be perfect. And adding the broken suffix to the normal names is also ideal, I think. That way the items sort next to each other.

Peter Medrano

It is a great idea, perhaps I can even take old assets and make broken versions of them. That way they can better be incorporated with the existing packs. The only question then is how to name them... 0.0 Same name as the old one + broken suffix or new name?

PeaPu

I do believe there are more than enough assets to cover a cyberpunk themed crime scene, you can take most assets that are made for modern stuff and give it a tech upgrade. Body parts involving more cybernetics, blood into oil spills, etc.. etc.. While the current pack organization methodology isn't perfect (what is?) it is pretty good so far imo, wouldn't want to wreck it unnecessarily.

PeaPu

Crime Scene could be Indoor/Outdoor + Modern/Cyberpunk. I don't think there are enough assets to make separate packs. Maybe it can become a new assets category: Setting. Name: Setting Crime Scene. You could later work on other settings assets packs. This new category could give you more freedom for setting packs unofficially dedicated for some roleplaying games. Like setting Vampires, setting Old Aquatic Gods, setting Street Gangs, setting Horror Stories, etc.

Greg

If it already exists then yes no need to double them. I surely missed them when exploring the previous packs.

Greg

Just off the top of my head, I'm thinking the crime scene isn't complete without "signs of a struggle" elements. I'm thinking things like knocked over lamps, broken glassware, chairs on their side, that sort of thing. I'm not sure what elements you've already got like that in the other packs without digging through everything (and there's a LOT). But everyone else already has great ideas, so that's all that I can add.

Peter Medrano

I guess the question is whether a separate cyberpunk crime scene pack is worth doing or not. Personally I'm not sure there would be enough unique elements to build a whole pack out of, but you'd know better than me.

Peter Brunton

You have me conflicted, this is suppose to be a Modern pack (so no hologram tech) but holograms are friggin awesome. Ahhh,, this idea may have to wait. Maybe I can sneak in holographic police tape...? Nobody will know.

PeaPu

Bowie/big hunting knife - Gunshop pack Crowbar - Industrial 1 pack Baseball bat - Will add Gold club - Will add Screwdriver - Industrial 1 (though maybe we could use a couple more) Chainsaw + bloody - Industrial 1 Drugs - Street + rave, though I guess there's never enough drugs Syringe - Street, Medical, Rave, still need moar? I sometimes wonder if its worth adding similar stuff even though it may fit the theme.

PeaPu

Right at the start of Cyberpunk 2077 there's a crime scene, and instead of chalk outlines they have holograms showing the bodies. I think the police tape is holographic too. That might be a neat idea.

Peter Brunton

Bowie or big hunting knife, crowbar, baseball bat, golf club, screwdriver, chainsaw. That could be a good start. For the drugs, a syringe and a little bag.

Greg

Good point - while a few other folk have produced 'corpse outlines' and the like, murders are not the only type of crime that provides a location for an RPG scene. So yes, small recolourable baggies of various sizes, a cash-counting/bundling machine, maybe a counterfeiting printer, stacks of loose notes and bundled notes (if not already in other packs - they ring a bell!) How else do 'heroes' steal the criminals money to fund their ongoing crimebusting operations?

Simon 'Landmine'

Can't do 'everything', considering that one can be murdered with just about anything :D A few bloody weapons and tools are a good example. You're going to have to be specific if you want something in particular.

PeaPu

Everything for a classic modern crime scene, indoor and outdoor. And some to be used in a cyberpunk map. Some assets really dark, doomed detective story like in Cthulhu, games like Kult or Vampire the Masquerade. Drug products assets, bloody weapons and tools...

Greg

These little yellow triangles with clue numbers on them. Bodybags, some outdoorsy laptops and field-lab-equipment maybe?

Paul Schweiger

Looking forward to it!A new kind of path or door for police tape, and a trail of bloody drops and other tracks.

Paul Schweiger

While this is obvious, some variant body chalk outlines are a must.
