I imagine it was a decision he was able to make /because/ he never met his daughter. His wife, from whom he was apart for what must have felt like an eternity in The Island, was his everything just then; his whole purpose and reason for living was to be at her side, even in death. Personally, I hated that they died. I cry like a baby every time, more than for any other character death on the show. (Typing this out as quickly as I can before my reigning feelings of "nope, nope nope!! they deserved to be happy, to raise their daughter, they deserved to live and thrive and grow old together, fuck this shit!!!" win out.) But there is something really poetic and beautiful about how they went. Their story begins with a broken marriage. A husband who resorted to doing things he hated for the sake of keeping his marriage intact, even as it changed him, made him disparate, unhappy and violent. A wife who wished she could leave her husband, but could never quite take that step because she still saw in him sometimes the man she fell in love with. Their story ends with healing. With the victory of their love and their desire to be together no matter what. Jimmy loves Desmond/Penny and Sawyer/Juliet (me too!) but for me the best couple in this show is Sun and Jin.

I get not wanting to leave his wife again, But Jin just orphaned the daughter he never got to meet. That's some fucked up shit.

Yep, MiB could not kill them directly. He had to put them in a situation where someone would pull the wire and cause the explosion. Mirrors the Season 5 finale in which Jack was very wrong -- here he was very right. He's officially Jack-Locke now.
2018-01-27 01:44:48 +0000 UTC
Oh, and Jack realizing that the MIB meant for them to kill each other, that he couldn't kill them and that the bomb wouldn't go off...what a freaking amazing character moment for Jack. Absolutely deserves the no.1 spot.

Holy crap MIB at no.2. Finally I can stop tip-toeing around the fact that I love the MIB. Before I didn't want to give anything I away with my opinion??? If that makes sense lol. But at this point I can freely say I think he's a fantastic character. I mentioned before that he's not on my list because it doesn't feel right to rank him with the other characters. So Jack/Locke/Ben are at the no.1 spot of the characters list and then there's MIB who's no.1 of his own list or something. Uhhh I don't think too deeply about it lol. Anyway, finally, it's next! Episode 6x15, probably one of the most divisive episodes. Personally, I /love/ this episode and it's probably the episode I've most wanted to see you react to. Hurry up Friday!

There's a lot of love/hate when it comes to the series finale. However,.based on Jimmy's reactions for Season 6 so far, I believe he's going to LOVE the finale. Thoughts?
2018-01-22 21:24:27 +0000 UTC
I watched the show between 2005 and 2010 and I was a huge follower and not once did I shed a tear, however, there's a scene in the finale, half way through where I burst into tears. I'll never forget that, it was pretty crazy. So I'm wondering if it will happen to Jimmy. To be fair, Jimmy will have only watched for 1 year instead of 5, so it might not have the same effect.

Agreed. The conversation with Desmond seemed to turn him around. Maybe powerful surges of emotion allow people to come back from the dark side?

Will Jimmy be able to get through LOST without shedding a single tear? Looking very possible.

Also I hope you can do a top 10 all time lost characters after the finale !
2018-01-22 17:49:43 +0000 UTC
I think sayid realized that since the time the man in black brought him back to life he wasn’t himself 90 % of the time but in this scene he was and he wanted to go out on his terms like the brave man he was .

Jimmy posted Season 1 Episode 1 on the 7th February 2017... It's been an awesome year watching the reactions as it's never once been done before.

The writer did Sayid so dirty in the last season.
2018-01-22 15:41:06 +0000 UTC
Well Ben was nearly always on his list. Jack gradually slipped and fell off, and finally returned when he changed his whole ideology. It's up to Jimmy but I think Ben is still a more solid character.
2018-01-22 15:40:48 +0000 UTC
Time flies. And it sucks...
2018-01-22 15:02:46 +0000 UTC
LOL! Nobody ever talks about how Frank just went down with the submarine too, poor Frank Lapidus. And for the List, all according to keikaku. I knew Jack would reach the top echelons, but I never dreamed he'd be Numero Uno. I knew Man in Black would be up there too. Excellent. And I can't believe it's been eight years since I first watched this.

So...you said before that Ben is on your list of your favourite characters of all time. If Jack is now above Ben - is he also one of your favourite characters of all time? ? He has to be right?

Can someone remind me what Ben and Richard are doing at the moment? They haven't been in the reactions for a while.
2018-01-22 13:13:32 +0000 UTC
The scene in the sub is heartbreaking but the part that really gets me is the survivors reaction on the beach. Hurley breaking down followed by Jack looking out at the ocean, trying to hold it in, before losing it. We lost so many core characters at once, this episode broke my heart

> "Additionally, a Muslim character basically dying as a suicide bomber was not good optics even if it was for the greater good."
I know you mean well but if you watched that episode and thought "suicide bomber" that's kinda weird. It's basically saying that any person of color is defined forever by their race/religion and the cultural context around that as opposed to who they are as an individual. "Suicide bombing" should be the last thing that anyone who watches this show should equate his death to.

It's my favorite ever, I have re-watched it twice since the finale originally aired and it still holds up for me. The characters are so fantastic and well written and they really make you care for these people. The journey they go through is so amazing

I, along with a minority of the fandom (no pun intended), was upset at the time with killing off three main characters of color in one fell swoop. Additionally, a Muslim character basically dying as a suicide bomber was not good optics even if it was for the greater good. I think either the showrunners meant well or they didn't know better, but I don't think this episode would fly today. Regardless, this episode is heartbreaking.

So close to the end. The last several episodes, you just gotta take it all in reflect and then react. Emotions range all over the place. I don't think there will ever be a TV show like Lost ever. Where would you guys rank Lost on your favorite shows of all time? It is right at the top basically for me.
2018-01-22 08:49:37 +0000 UTC
How are you going to do the episodes next week? There are 3 episodes left- #15, #16 and the supersized finale #17. I feel there are so many moments in the finale it deserves more than 2-3 parts, it should be like a 6 part or so reaction so I propose the following-
Next week do just episodes #15, #16 (and maybe you could do a video about what your expectations are for the finale as the "3rd video", loophole). Then the following week you can react to #17 and post it over multiple parts, it's gonna need more than 4-5 lol. What do you think?

I love the setup for MiB blowing up the sub - especially when you remember that Locke blew up the sub back in Season 3.
2018-01-22 08:39:06 +0000 UTC
Jin never got to see his daughter in person. Sun's entire story arc for this past 2 seasons was trying to get his husband out of the island with all she had. It's so tragic.

Man when I first watched Sun and Jin's deaths I initially didn't believe it, after just having Sayids death I thought there was no way. By the end of the scene with the two of them floating limply I burst into tears. Just there entire relationship with its ups and downs all leading to this finale moment together, it really got to me. Also there kid will never see them again ugh it's just so sad.

I love your thoughts about locke, how he was straightforward and never a good liar. All of what you said about him is precisely why MiB wanted to masquerade as him. So the survivors (and audience) would trust him more and would be completely blind to his super long con to kill them all. Nervous about 6x15, cant tell if you'll love or hate it! Personally it's one of my favorites, but its a polarizing episode i suppose.

I clearly remember watching this live and thinking the alternate timelines were as if it was the life that you see in your dreams. And vice versa. Locke laying in bed dreaming of the island, and the island people dreaming of their alternate timelines. Having to wait a week between episodes was the worst, but the best!

Might be one of my favorite episodes of season 6. I think Sayid's sentence "Because it's gonna be you Jack" is pretty important and gives a certain direction for interpretation.
