Pike scenes were filmed in Northern Ireland so good call. Same for the Dragonstone scenes, but Portugal wasn't a bad call, bc Spain will play host to some future Dragonstone exteriors.

Can’t go cold turkey with no nudity for all the people that you hooked on season 1 because of it, lol. To be honest, V, it sounds like you brought some of the negativity with you to the episode. Not ragging on you, just observing. Life happens and I don't expect you to be able to react without bias. Just saying, you sounded like you were hoping the show would resolve some other mood you were in before you started, is all. Told you that intro theme music would hit you, quickly, lol. Tyrion is cleaning house of corruption, lol, at least as far his safety as that hand is concerned. It wounds me that you are so mean to Varys, lol. He’s so awesome, lol. Remember the legends Doreah talked about with Viserys in the bathtub scene in season 1? The Pirate who wore his weight in gold and has colored silk sails, the man who can change his face as easily as other men change clothes, and a man from Asshai with a dragonglass dagger? Member? Huh, member, V? lol That proud pirate, Sallador Sa'an, that Davos was talking to on the beach with his son...is he wearing gold (wink, wink)? lol V: I don't see enough of these girls to recognize them. Me: There's like 3, V, lol Shae (Tyrion’s personal one), Ros (the tall redhead from the North), and Doreah (bought by Viserys and now a handmaiden for Daenerys). And like 3 minor ones I think; Marei and Daisy. We haven’t seen the 3rd yet. The crying girl was Ros, from the North who Theon was in lust with and Tyrion was with when we first met him, and one of the prostitutes talented and intelligent enough to be entrusted to care for the brothel while Littlefinger is away, now. She is moving up in the world but got shaken when the Gold Cloaks (city cops) stormed in and ignored her authority, basically. Gendry suffers from Schrodinger's girl, lol. All men are girls to Gendry until he sees their penis, lol. V: What’s with all these horny dudes? Lol not much else to do back then, V. In Yara's defense, lol, it didn't go all the way to incest yet. Just your run-o-the-mill breast exam and coochie inspection between siblings, lol. We got a few new names from characters; a man called Jaqen H'ghar who shows an interest in Arya; Crastor's pregnant daughter-wife Gilly; and a sassy pirate Sallador Sa'an. All filming locations for this episode are Northern Ireland, Iceland, and Croatia for King's Landing. Its not about nudity being needed to make the show good or not good. Its about vulnerable scenes in this world. In this world, characters aren’t comfortable being vulnerable with each other unless in moments of intimacy. This is a world of armor and weapons and dark dealings. Naked characters are more easily trusted by those that need to vent. Characters aren't as defensive because they are bare, literally. Littlefinger is gross because he takes advantage of characters at their most vulnerable. That is a disgusting way to use people and wield power. The scenes are MEANT to make you uncomfortable. Your uncomfortableness is part of the narrative, part of the storytelling, part of your motivation to connect with or dissolve connections with characters. It is also used by the writers to subvert and exploit expectations. Yes, producers and HBO lean on nudity as a hook to the perverts in the audience for many shows, of course they do, that's capitalism in the film industry. The directors and writers have to find a way to use nudity as a storytelling element if they want to keep their jobs, essentially, and nudity can be used as a storytelling element; it is a commonly used medium of art for thousands of years after all. You are supposed to feel what you are feeling in these scenes, V, because that is what art is supposed to do to you, inspire feelings, then you are supposed to examine those feelings in order to understand why the art affects you the way it does. Then do some introspection or not, your call, not everyone is ready to delve deep into themselves. If you are struggling with being okay with something that is highly normalized by many (but not all), then its on you to figure it out within you. You may change your mind, you may not. Maybe you're not ready to let go of things or maybe you're not ready to get on board with things; doesn't matter because its always your call. Maybe you feel guilty for having an opinion; personally, i would try to find out where that guilt is coming from then decide on if my opinion is something I want to keep, try to compromise, or is it even really something I agreed with in the first place or am I just parroting others' opinions. All on you, regardless, the uncomfortableness you are feeling is supposed to happen. My note on incest, lol, none of us would be here if incest didn't happen between our ancestors. There is one, and only one, need for incest that is to propagate the species when literally no other option is available. In order for that one and only one valid reason to even happen when needed, we have to be able to mentally push ourselves to feel enough arousal for each other to go through with it. That really sucks to have to admit that about our species but that is a reality that exists in order for our species to avoid extinction; any species really. Now many people would say that if they were in that position, then the species is doomed, lol. Sure, but what if you're not in that position. Someone else might feel similar but still be capable of biting the bullet, so to speak. Would the saviors of our species still be disgusting? Yes, yes they would, lol. But we have the privilege of finding them disgusting because of the hard choices they made. However, that has not been the case in why incest continues occurring throughout most of human history, unfortunately. Point being that in order for incest to occur, for the one and only necessary reason lol, some of us will need to be capable of causing it to occur. But what do we do with these people when its not necessary? Those of us that are capable of crossing that line are trained by our current society that we don’t need to do that and our world is quite expansive now. Plenty of fish in the sea, as it were, lol. Clearly the impulse, or rather the taboo of the impulse is more intriguing than the impulse for most, still exists within us otherwise a certain category of pron wouldn’t be as popular. Regardless, society has had many changes over the thousands of years. We have never been less isolated than we are today, globally speaking. Isolation combined with impulses and indulgences is not good for us, plain and simple. It creates mental rationalities and agendas to all kinds of perversions of the norms, not just sexual. It is like any other human indulgence; it is being used to stroke egos and create illusions of short-term gratifications and satiations in those that have the power to take what they want from others. In this case, from their own family members. Additionally, those family members seek to find normalcy with such acts being impressed upon them, while also in isolation which makes their rational just as warped. I don't enjoy the incest, but I do find the characters that indulge and allow it very interesting mental puzzles to grasp. The things they rationalize and believe and have experienced all leading up to the characters we see. The hard choices and the indulgent ones. The pitfalls and red flags that if circumstances were different for any of us; could and can and have lead to these experiences that one or more audience members might have had to navigate, irl. Character development, V. Our paths, our choices, our sins, our lineage all could've been different. As much as people like to think that if they were in these shoes or if they had been there how different things would be. Sure, maybe. But that isn't the story. The story is about people that aren't us. People, that we have the privilege of never being, still managing to survive day to day with good and evil choices. It sucks to feel a connection and understanding with people we find disgusting, but that is the point just like being uncomfortable with nudity is the point as well. These are stories of humans. Disgusting, vile, misguided, noble, selfish, honorable, hate-filled, dark, and healing humans. Just like the irl world; filled with people we will never be or meet. People that are so fortunate to have opportunities and waste their potential. People that have no choices and do what they must to see another sunrise. Yes, we watch shows and read stories to escape this, but what if a story includes these people too. There are people in our world that have experienced terrible things. They should be able to find connections in characters as well. Plus this story is credited as being amazing by at least half of the world, lol. I would surmise that maybe these characters are probably going to experience something quite interesting, yeah? lol And we need to see how dramatic of an effect it will have on them by knowing where they started when we encountered them.

The set ups are uncomfortable because they set expectations in earlier episodes but I assure you, those expectations were to shock you at how bad thing can get. Not every set up is going to go in the direction you think, every time, lol. This is the difficulty of episodic adventures. More will be revealed, lol. Such a sour puss, lol.
