"He is picking a weak targets" - everyone in that room (Robert Selmy Jaime scene) is a legendary warrior. The only reason he picks "weak targets" is because barely no-one is equal to his skill

If you go back and watch the intro to episode 1, there's something else there, THOSE are the White Walkers. They touch a bit on it in the episode but winter/summer seasonal cycle is extremely unpredictable and they can very greatly in length. I can't say much without spoilers but the White Walkers are not a function of every winter, but something unique. Someone in the last episode said one hadn't been seen in hundreds of years. The Night's Watch at this point is viewed less as an elite force protecting the realm and more of a penal colony. Remember that most of them were some form of criminal before hand. This is why they are under funded and under manned. Cat's hands are injured from when she held the dagger and got cut defending Bran. Lastly, the Starks had a VERY valid reason for being mad at Littlefinger. Remember one Lady Stark's reason for not wanting to go? and the way she treated Snow? If word got back to her that he was seen entering a whorehouse, she just might have rode down from Winterfell if she wasn't already there. Conversely, Littlefinger is a known brothel owner and known to be in love with Cat. Cat being taken to one of his brothels would have certain implications if word got out.
