I liked the BTS of this episode. They explained how they wanted to give us a grieving episode that the gamers didn't really get. Gale is becoming a more central character, lately. Very curious if she'll be around more. Makes me think that she's sort of a bridge plot/exposition character. Like a stand in for Neil, in a way, so we have someone explaining things for us. Or a character that embodies the angel/devil on the shoulder, pushing characters into moving the story forward by bringing out their reactions and thoughts. Interesting piece of writing bringing her in. Seattle and Jackson are not too far apart, technically. Half a day by car. On horse it could be about 3-5 days but Shimmer is just walking instead of running (as far as we know). On foot it would be about 13 days. So probably somewhere between 5-13 days.
