Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World | Full Length Reaction!

You guys were absolutely right; Master and Commander : The Far Side of the World was such a good movie and I'm bummed we didn't have more parts to it. I really enjoyed every second of this movie, it just draws you in and captures your attention. I don't typically like pieces of this time period, but for some reason it felt different and much better than the others I had seen previously. I felt the attention to detail every second of this movie was fantastic and not only that - but its also a pretty accurate depiction from what I've read! I didn't know they actually had children on board that were that young, if not younger doing different jobs. It was such a different time and I got that feel from the film.

Thank you all for watching and recommending this easy classic. Enjoy!~

I've read all 21 Aubrey-Maturin books multiple times so naturally, this is one of my favorite movies! Imagine my surprise when just after subscribing I find this reaction on your Patreon! Of course, I had to watch the movie, and your reaction, at once!

Agent K

Great movie, it sure pulls you in to the story. Awesome

Michael NZ9T9

Going to be SciFi. Wow, I'm eager to watch this.

Reed James

If you ever watch the series 'Hornblower' (1998-2003, 8 episodes/movies, with a whole bunch of well-known actors), you'll get to see more of it and also ships that could sail very safely on the high seas, even if today they'd rather be called nutshells. Because it's set around the same time and it's really well done. The series ends about when the excellent movie 'Captain Horatio Hornblower' (1951) with Gregory Peck kicks in. 😊

Chris Lüders

Haha, I guess you'll have to watch it and find out!

Okay I'm assuming HITCHHIKERS HAS SPACESHIPS, not 19th century ocean vessels LOL

VKunia

It made me believe they’re a bit more durable than I had originally thought but I still fear them LOL

VKunia

Great movie! Vee, I hope this has eased your fear of ships and boats a bit. As a rule, these things float without sinking in the end, so they are quite safe after all, as long as they don't get shot up. 😉☠😊

Chris Lüders

Great reaction Vee, super bummed you didnt get your spaceships lol. I think you'll feel the same about hitchhikers when you finally see it, mad that it didnt get voted for :)

If you liked this one, you should check out "Hornblower". It is a short movie series about a young guy who starts his career in the Royal Navy (same time periode) and advances the ranks from one movie to another. It is mainly character development and and story telling. Reading the Wikipedia/IMDB articles will only be a minor spoiler. Just check it out and think about watching it.

Dioskur

The movie that destroyed its production company from how hard it bombed. I saw it back in the 90s and liked it! Fun movie.

NOt trying to push my luck, but the dynamic between captain and crew and senior staff...that's what you find in Star Trek...just a different ship called Enterprise. AS for naval fims set in this era, Mutiny of the Bounty and Damn the Defiant come to mind, and there's the Horatio series of movies. In the books, Captain Aubrey is patterned after a real British navy captain, Cochrane. James T Kirk has similar qualities, they all draw from the same source.

Oh hell yes! I love this movie, and so few reactors get to it at least that I've seen.

Erik Stevenson

There's an old 1995 Comedy/ Drama called Cutthroat Island that's underrated. Starring Geena Davis. You might like it V

STEEL Metal

I couldn't, they can't even shower and theyre constantly rocking back and forth for months:(

VKunia

HEHE :) this movie was amazing, are there any others with a similar quality/vibe??

VKunia

LMAOOOO we got stickbugged

VKunia

This movie and books like it always makes me wonder if I could survive a life at sea. Even in modern times with tech, I don't think I could

STEEL Metal

Absolutely elated that you finally watched this and enjoyed it so much. I've voted for it every time. Also, JYNX you owe me a soda. We said "get stickbugged" at the exact same time. LMAOOOO

FireGamer95

Oh SNAP you streamed AND dropped one of my favorite movies. The book series this film is made from is pretty good too.
